Manga? Read it?

Comment ID #3311

Do any of you read any manga? If so, which ones?

Gabriel Kaxbe April 10, 2010, 7:44 PM EST.

Comment ID #3316

I’m old-school manga, so Ranma 1/2 is what I’m currently reading.

Pronkat April 10, 2010, 7:50 PM EST.

Comment ID #3317

Oh! I loved Ranma 1/2~! Haven’t read it in a while though…

Gabriel Kaxbe April 10, 2010, 7:51 PM EST.

Comment ID #3321

It’s great! My mate wanted me to read Battle Royale. Is it any good?

Pronkat April 10, 2010, 8:02 PM EST.

Comment ID #3323

Ranma 1/2 is certainly a good manga. Right now I am reading many, but I think my favorite is tied between Soul eater and Fairy Tail.

BATTLE ROAYLE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST MANGA I HAVE EVER READ

Gabriel Kaxbe April 10, 2010, 8:07 PM EST.

Comment ID #3326

I read Pokemon Adventures, so much better than the anime.
There’s also Azumanga Daioh, Yotsuba! and sometimes Sgt Frog.
(I read more, but I’m too lazy to list them too)

@Gabriel Kaxbe

Wow! If you’re so uppity about it, then it must be really good!

Pronkat April 10, 2010, 8:45 PM EST.

Comment ID #3342

@Pronkat

Battle royal was a good manga/book/movie. but I should say manga is really gory. If you don’t mind that part (which I think you don’t since you want to read it) then I think you’ll love it.

fourward April 10, 2010, 8:58 PM EST.

Comment ID #3346

Cheers then mate! I’ll look for it on the net later :D

Pronkat April 10, 2010, 9:05 PM EST.

I personally can’t wait until Highschool of the Dead’s new chapter comes out. too bad it doesn’t look like it will anytime soon… -.-;

does anyone know any good non-mainstream manga?

fourward April 10, 2010, 9:07 PM EST.

Comment ID #3350

The Magic Shopping Arcade Abenobashi comes to mind. The anime was pretty good also.

Pronkat April 10, 2010, 9:15 PM EST.

@Pronkat

Isn’t that the manga/anime where there were a lot of sexual references were? or I may be thinking something else…

fourward April 10, 2010, 9:22 PM EST.

Comment ID #3355

Well, for Manga, my Favs are Megaman Battle Network (I actually have the entire series ^^), Battle Angel Alita, and Pokemon Adventures. Franken Fran’s good, but if you’re squeamish, I’d avoid it, fair amount of gore. Interesting story though.

Cyo April 10, 2010, 9:32 PM EST.

Comment ID #3357

@fourward

Yes, yes it is. Though they had other references too old-school anime as well. And the plot doesn’t just revolve around sex. There is a lot of folklore in it too.

Pronkat April 10, 2010, 9:35 PM EST.

Comment ID #3368

@cyo

OMG megaman battle network XD I read the series while playing the actual game, so it was REALLY fun reading it. hum, I never hear of Battle Angel Alita… I should give it a look.

@Pronkat

Ah, I thought so. For some reason, any manga or anime that has too much porn, nudity, panty shots, etc. just makes me not wanna read the comic more, since it gives off the vibe that they rely on those to survive.

fourward April 10, 2010, 10:15 PM EST.

Im actually reading random mangas like Ranma 1/2,Bleach,Naruto,Fullmetal alchemist,Fullmetal Panic Sigma,Tsubasa,XXXholic and Negima.Realy randomic.

Kou April 10, 2010, 10:29 PM EST.

Comment ID #3376

@Kou

Ah, mainstreams. You know what is a truly random comic? BOBOBO-BOBO-BOBO XD
but according to your manga taste, I think you would like 666 Satan (or O-parts hunter in English).

fourward April 10, 2010, 10:46 PM EST.

Comment ID #3379

BOBOBO-BOBO-BOBO! Oh my God I haven’t seen that anime in like two years now. It was absolutely brilliant. I’ll have to look for the manga online as well. I’m not one for doing the illegal downloads, much XD. But Dublin has the crappiest service for non-mainstream manga/anime distribution in the British Isles. It’s a bloody pain to find anything here!

As for Abenbashi, well it does have an awful lot of sexual references, but I did find more to it.

By the way, do you have access to Mixi? I really wanna try it out, even if I sound like a retard for using Google Translator for it… XD

Pronkat April 10, 2010, 10:59 PM EST.

Any way, Franken Fran’s on the first one. Pokemon’s Adventure and Battle Angel Alita are on the other two.

You are from Brazil? Groovy! I’m from Argentina but living in Ireland. My dad is always raving about someday going to the Carnival…

Comment ID #3399

@Pronkat
Well i dont like carnival(here we call it carnaval) because its noisy(and i dont like it(i think i have same problem as mike have))
But maybe you or your father will have fun on it.

Kou April 10, 2010, 11:53 PM EST.

@Kou

I don’t know about the Carnaval. I think I’d rather go to the Fiesta de la Vendimia someday. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but it’s a celebration held in my home province of Mendoza. While that’s the main event, I’ll go for the two months preparation for it, because they have parties all across the province. I heard it’s like when the Escolas di Samba prepare themselves for the main event at the Carnaval.

I didn’t read manga until this year, but I stick to hardcore horror stuff. Berserk, Claymore and D. Gray-man are my favorites. I thrive on high octane nightmare fuel, so if you have any DON’T FUCKING HOLD OUT ON ME.
