I can’t help but feel a little intimidated every time she makes that smile now that she’s revealed her dark side.

Man, I wish I could show you this dream I had. I had to train myself to fight hordes of demons by doing horribly painful things, but they could warp reality. There was a girl I was in love with in one room that was safe as long as I kept the door shut. I opened it to tell her goodbye, we kissed and she told me she was pregnant when the reality distortions began. It feels like a record skipping at first. She repeats herself and I feel deja vu and then turn around to see the hallways filled with demons and, not only that, but they twist around in non-Euclidean geometry. It’s like fighting inside an MC Escher print.

And then it stops abruptly and I’m with the girl again. I’m trying to read a paper, a warning, but the warning starts repeating itself, telling me to wake up, and I know something terrible is coming. I scramble to shut the door to protect the girl, and I just barely succeed, because everything beyond the door is twisting. I just see eyes and teeth and darkness, but as long as she’s safe and I can avoid the feeling of vertigo, I know everything will be okay.

Meh. Just had to get that off my chest. Haven’t told anybody about that yet.

She was Keiko from “Yu Yu Hakusho” and I was Yusuke being trained by Genkai. Because I am really, really lonely and masochist and just strung-out enough to be candid about it.

Except I channeled all my masochism and angst into lifting weights for, literally, hours today. And not eating.

Last week the girl was real though. She was an ex-girlfriend (who burned me terribly but with whom I’m probably still in love) telling me how happy she is with her new boyfriend.

This stuff is like sodium pentethol to me.
