I’ve been dating a girl online for two years since April the 5th. But our relationship is starting to strain because I don’t get to talk to to her much. I’m hopefully going to visit her this summer though, so I’m hoping this can heal our relationship and we can stay together.

Not having a holiday ‘til you’re 18? That’s thinking ahead, my friend. I already spent what used to be the “Never Gonna Get Laid Again” Fund as an act of defiance. Music, weights and tequila.

Alas, single for now. Got a fun story about my last girlfriend though.

We met when I was helping my dad out with a film shoot for an advertisement (he freelances and sometimes pays me to help). The daughter of the guy supervising the shoot was there and we chatted briefly while messing around with the props in back. I can’t recall the exact circumstances, but she was about to knock something over and I grabbed her hand. She responded by trying to bite my hand. I didn’t let go. She then asked me out. Twue WUUUUV. Hahaha.

We used to get into semi-fights all the time. In fact the first time we made out was after we got into an argument while watching a movie and started beating on each other. God that was such a weird relationship. It was fun while it lasted, though.

I’ve been happily in love for about a year and five months. It was a little rickety for a bit but levelled out. Now all I gotta deal with is the suckiness of long-distance and the countless people who remind me of their success rates. Stupid downers.

Have a crush on this girl I’ve been friends with for a year and just don’t have the courage to ask her out. Just afraid that she doesn’t have the same feelings, that’s normal I know, but I’m also afraid that it will make us being around each other awkward, again I know it’s normal.

Single, really have no one at all I’m seriously interested in at the moment. Frankly, I’ve kind of come to realize I have ridiculously high/specific standards. They’re necessary, but probably ensure me being single for a good while, possibly forever.

Never HAD a girlfriend, either. Have had a few serious crushes, but only a couple times has it been mutual and both times distance killed any potential for a relationship. It wouldn’t have worked out anyway.

Finding someone who is at least moderately good looking, psychologically stable, smart (and I DO mean smart; they have to be close to my level, otherwise I will feel like I’m talking down to them way too often, which breaks the sense of equality I desire), enjoys games of all sorts, is self-motivated, educated, is going to make themselves useful (do something meaningful in other words), has a black sense of humor, is old enough to actually date (which would mean… well, I’d probably be flexible on this point), is not much older than me (someone who is more than three or four years older than me would probably be too old in my eyes, though to be fair, thirty is as close as twenty at this point. Doesn’t feel like it though), ect. is pretty tough. Doubly so because such people are often already taken, and I have few routes to meet them.

Though I have some similarities with Paulo as well. Let me explain:

I met a girl long ago, with whom I became close friends. We were both very shy, and I developed feelings for her, but I was too shy to tell her. One day she told me she was moving away in a few weeks. I tried to tell her, but I never dared to, so she left without me ever telling her.

I regret that, and so I started working on my shyness, and I was successful. One day I talked to her online, and confessed my love for her, but then she was taken, but admitted to having had feelings for me. Now she isn’t sure if she still likes me or not, and there’s been lots of tension lately.

I still go out with other girls as there’s nothing official with her at all, It’s been pretty straightforward since I stopped being so shy, so that’s my Paulo part. Though, it can’t be denied that the girl I truly like is her.

I’m the only person I know who hasn’t. My best friend has two ex-boyfriends from the first site and her current boyfriend from the second.

@ Kuro: If you’ve got a rec center complex near you, check to see if they give out classes and stuff. Good place to meet people and you might find they have some pretty badass stuff. Mine has five kinds of martial arts and three kinds of sword-fighting. My brother and I signed up for Jujitsu together, and I’m getting on the waiting list for Guitar I tonight.

Have had three girlfriends. Two were nice, but became long-distance relationships that didn’t last, third didn’t last after I found out how insane she was. Currently have two stalkers, one of which wants my virginity, (she refers to her process as swiping a v-card) however she crazy and I’m most certainly not interested. I’m single and 20 and a half, just chilling with my closet friends currently.

I hear you about the stalker, not me, but my sister had a paranoid schitzophrenic as a stalker. He only stopped because he is now trying to sue: a judge, two police officers, multiple layers and the mayor, because all French Canadians are in a conspiracy against him… Yeah

Actually I know how that goes, was involved in a court case where several developers were trying to steal our land and they had a deal with 31 city officials, several officers, 3 judges, 6 lawyers, etc. Over 3 years of stress my parent’s hair turned white, I had a white streak for a while and many events such as attempted fire bombing, the destruction of the adjacent property in which the evidence of that arson was bulldozed in under 30 minutes and even a staredown between my dad, myself and a helicopter hovering with one of the developers, 20’ above us until I took their picture. They used a helicopter so that they wouldn’t be physically tresspassing. In the end we found out that there is no justice in the court system, the good ol’ boy system is still prevelant, and money is power unfortunately. We had to pay them off and sold the property. We got out of debt and had some money left over, but it didn’t make up for the 3 years of work restoring the place and the 11 years of maintaining it. It was going to be a retirement/legacy piece. We have never been rich, still aren’t, but we’re making it through. Though I would like every night and day (it was a daily struggle) of the 3 years that I lost during High School back. Lesson learned and life goes on.

@KuroKan: Actually… I go out quite a lot, I’m usually on the computer at night because it’s when I have the most free time. ^^

Besides, how the hell am I supposed to travel a thousand miles just to see that girl (Though that’s a likely plan at this moment).

@ Hebs: I’ve actually done that. I don’t regret it, per se, but…Let’s just say my overall faith in long distance relationships is morbid at best.
