Can I has halp n advize?

Comment ID #3720

Well, as you all know, I’m not that great at drawing. In fact, I’d love some advice. I believe that getting help from you guys, people who I have grown to like within these past few days of the forum being up, would really help.

My deviantART and character sketches of characters I’ve been meaning to use for a looong time.

I personally like your drawing’s touch. People has their own way of drawing,s o I won’t criticize your style.
I have something I should say: 1. Draw bodies more. looking through the gallery, I can see that you need a little bit more practice on it (but hell, who doesn’t? XD) so even if it’s just a sketch, try giving a go at the basic anatomy.
2. Everyone looks stiff (all the ones that has a body) but we all go through this part. try making a pose look as natural as possible. (looking/taking a pic that has the same pose will help)
3. Some of the character’s necks are long. How I do the neck, is a little long and skinny for females, short and a little wide for males, but this is for more “anime/cartoony” looks, so if you don’t mind staying in this current style, hell, just keep it up ^^

Thats all, If you have any critique for my art, I would love to hear them as well ^^ Hope it helped.

@fourward: An online friend actually found a site that has been really helping me with anatomy and posing. It offers many poses and a neat little tool that gives you thirty seconds to draw a pose before giving you a different pose to draw.

Thanks for the links, Kaxbe!! T’s not my thread, by I figured I’d hang around and see what I could gather. The thirty second drawing looks like a life-saver! My poses always end up looking awkward. Although, I may have to start a bit higher, like 45… Anyway, thanks a bunch for links! ^^

Ah yeah I remember that 30 second thing! My friend sent that to me a while back and I was like “Cool!”

Then I forgot about it due to school and less free time >_>

He says it helped him a lot, so I might try it out sometime.

@ToastyJester: Yeah, it’s great. The changes in my style lately are evident. I also do hourly comics all the time so I can implement these things all the time. However, I’ll never post my hourlies on dA. At least not until next year’s hourly comic day.

The cat looks like a taller version of Mike (with glasses at one point), but it still looks good.
