Bittersweet Candy Bowl

We all know that some people have created original fancharacters to use in the BCB universe, but most people are out of the loop with regards to these characters. This thread is for people to post info, pictures (color or sketches), or generally chat about their fancharacters. That way people wanting to learn more don’t have to mine the whole forum looking for fancharacter info.

I suppose I’ll do a quick rundown.

So are we, really. Perhaps not cliché, but at least overexposed to each other. ^_^

@ CorporalBreakfastMachine: Aw, c’mon. I wasn’t even joking about mine. I’m going to write a story to prove it. He witnesses the last minutes of “Confrontation” and pisses off that Scarface kid.

That doesn’t mean we can’t make a fan character who’s a repentant jerk, and who is blunt but humourous. ^_^

Oh, and he’s got to be deathly afraid of girls chanting “HUBBA HUBBA ZOOT ZOOT”.

Actually, that’s totally a part of his canon now.

There’s a part where Scarface is kicking the living shit out of him and he starts laughing hysterically, Scarface asks what’s so funny, Milkweed wipes a tear from his eye from laughing so hard and says, “I was wondering if you picked this up from that little white girl who beat you shitless!” And then falls over laughing harder and harder until Scarface beats him unconscious.

He, like me, finds himself hilarious.

We should make a comic about the Forum Surfers, that would be awesome.

Gah, my fancharacter was named james, he wore a black hoodie and was the new member coordinator for the theatre department. Things and stuff I stopped when I realized it wasn’t really going anywhere. Altough the theatre presidient Xavier was very fun to play with…

God do I hate my lack of creativity!! Many times, I’ve wanted to create a fancharacter, but I have not the creativity to formulate a unique (and separate) personality, the skills to draw him/her, or the raw material to create a storyline to include him/her in. I’m probably the best at the storyline section, but it would still be shallow, short, and downright hollow.

I’ll probably cut and paste the character info from Bribri’s story Cookie Jar in here, with permission, of course, since it’s all laid out already in said thread.

And I’m fully aware that some (if not most) fancharacters are shards of the owner’s personality, hell, some might be full-blown fursonas, but “fursona” is a more general term, whereas fancharacters are based in the story universe that inspired them. It can be thought of as a Venn Diagram, but enough of me stating the obvious.

Not. Gunna lie, james was pretty much a fursona. Xavier was cool cause he had a cape, He was a fan character.

Success!! I have made a fancharacter/fursona and plan to post the info when I get back to my comp (on phone now).

I said fanchar./fursona because he’s kinda both, sort of. He’s about… 81-82% me. I think. That’s an estimate. But I won’t necessarily tell you which part is me and which part isn’t. …Ironically, he’s a lot like Lucy with regards to social success. They’d probably get along, if they vaguely gave each other a chance. I have given him distinct physical traits, but I won’t be able to draw him worth a damn. …Maybe I’ll see if Ved can draw him for me. *shrugs*

Okay, so I’ve ironed out this character’s personality, and he’s about 78% me (give or take). I’ve made sure to try and make him “perfectly flawed”. Criticism is welcome.

ICARUS’S PROFILE:

Name: Icarus
Nicknames: Iggy, or just Ig.

Grade: High school freshman

Bio:

Highly sensitive to verbal abuse, due to people constantly teasing him about his light-purple-tinted fur and unusual name (too many “too close to the sun” jokes xD). Has a slightly effeminate personality (likes romance, hates gore and violence, etc.), but since nobody has teased him for this, he tries to avoid giving people a chance to. Harbors strong emotions and actively works to keep them in check. Due to his old wounds, he has secluded himself socially to avoid more hurt. He tends to get along with people who have similar problems. Although he wants to make friends, he fears rejection. A real softie. Enjoys tinkering with machines. A very quick learner. He is normally quite calm, and is very cautious, always assessing the risk involved with any action before carrying it out. He is also very organized with both his thoughts and his belongings, although anyone familiar with his organizational methods would not agree. He’s generally a “black and white” thinker, although he’s developing a “gray scale”. Because of this, he has a hard time relating to other people or working on a team. A very logical thinker, but generally too shy to voice his thoughts. Has a habit of fidgeting when bored.

Appearance:

Fur: Short. Very light purple (looks white at a distance or at a quick glance). Darkens in several places (as specified below). Has dark patches on his back.
Ears: Slightly larger than most of the BCB cast, but slightly smaller than Abbey’s. Fur on the ears progressively darkens toward the tips.
Tail: Thin. Gray with black bands around the furthest half.
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5’7”
Build: Fairly athletic. Nothing special.
Hair: Same color as his fur, but with dark gray streaks. His bangs tend to hang over his forehead, which bothers him, so he often tries to move it aside.

Miscellaneous facts:

He is rather charismatic.
Hates the wind.
Hates loud noise, but has learned to cope.
A slow runner, but he has a lot of stamina.
Secretly very competitive.
Isn’t all that good with computers, yet his help is often requested.
A good problem solver.
Hates being called by his full name, so he gave himself the nickname “Iggy”, but a few of his friends call him “Ig” for short.

Note that he had to/will develop more confident traits over time. Since he generally dislikes company, he doesn’t actively seek it out.

This includes default fur color (three shades), generic gray shades for the darker sections, and blue for his eyes. Sorry for my roundabout methods, but I won’t be able to draw him as well as I imagine him.

Name: Jay Xander
Age: 16
Birthdate: January 13
Species: Dark Gray Tabby cat
Bio: Jay is optimistic, kind but tends to overlook things quite often. He is a sports fanatic, a good martial artist and is smart in the ways of aircraft and science. Jay thinks very highly of himself and will never accept a mistake he made in front of anyone else, except with his twin sister, Terra. But just because he thinks he’s above some people doesn’t mean he looks down on those that he thinks are below him, in fact, he’ll try to help those people by giving them tips and demonstrations. But Jay overlooks many things quite commonly in… well… everything. Be it a stance in taekwondo or a little detail in a question on a test, it doesn’t matter, he’ll most likely miss them. Though he and his sister argue a lot with each other, they trust each other very much, enough to share most of their secrets. Jay also gives everyone (except Sandy, oddly enough) a nickname, whether they like it or not.

Species: Light Gray Tabby cat
Bio: Terra is helpful, calm (most of the time) and is quite observant. She loves martial arts but, for some reason, stopped taking classes with her twin brother, Jay. She won’t even tell Jay why she stopped. Terra tends to worry herself sick over other people’s problems even if they have nothing to do with her. Another thing about her is that she can be very curious sometimes, especially if she’s bored. Terra is currently in a secret relationship with a black cat named James, who wanted to keep the relationship a secret, though she doesn’t want that. Terra argues with her brother a lot and, though she may say constantly that he is a moron, she cares deeply for her brother but has not even told him about her relationship, due to her boyfriend’s wishes. Terra, under Sandy’s request, has been trying to tell her brother about Sandy already being in a relationship with someone but keeps failing because she knows it will break his heart.

Jay sounds a bit like me! xD
