*Loses smile and looks at it leaning up against one of the tents.* I don’t know why Zeke had to waste his life on that. It just doesn’t make sense, what was he going to tell me….

Well, you said he just wanted to protect people. He didn’t seem like a cold-blooded killer, so I’m assuming he knew who was behind this and was going to subdue them in a non-lethal manner.

*Motions towards food, but still gets up* Well what should we fix tonight then?

I dropped it by the log I was sitting on near the fire pit. *He points to the gun masked in the shadows cast by the fire* I was too shocked to do anything else.

(gets out a pan, adds some water and begins browning the beef.) (At least she has something to distract her for a little while.)

In fact, I do. *picks up the gun and separates the gun at the reciever, and immediately notices a small spring attached to the trigger.*

I found your problem. For one thing, it shouldn’t have been loaded in the first place, unless you’ve defied my boundaries of the definition of “stupid” (sorry if that sounded awkward, sounded better In my head), but this spring was holding the trigger. It lessened the force required to set it off, so that simply shaking it too hard could’ve done this. Which is exactly what you did when you spun to face Zeke. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

(You just called Paolo stupid again haha)

Wonderful, so someone rigged the gun and it was all an accident that my husband died? Well isn’t that just freakin great.

No, it was only a partial accident. The killer wanted someone dead, your husband just happened ot be the one at the other end of the barrel.

(no, I said wandering around with a loaded shotgun when you’re not hunting’s stupid, and if paolo was doing it on purpose then he was stupid too. I doubt he knew his gun was loaded.)

*Glances at Kathrine briefly, before going to his tent, his head hung low*

*Looks at the group* The entire act of carrying the guns around was stupid, for this specific reason. Tacos are done.

*Helps Katherine serve the tacos, smiles to Mitchell when giving him his tacos*

*Sighs as she sits down with no food* Look my point is, I’m the guide now and this is no longer a hunting trip. I want all the guns unloaded and any extra ammo given to me to throw in the river. I am not letting something like this happen again.

(eats her taco.) Aiken and myself will be on watch all night again.
(Good night, have to go to work early again tomorrow.)

Thank you, Sadae. And Katherine, with all due respect, he brought it along for self-defense. We’re all a little paranoid with a killer running around unchecked. Give the guy a break.

*takes a bite of his taco*

Look, those guns are only hazards. My husband was carrying one when he was killed, that’s pretty good evidence that they aren’t going to protect you from the killer. Let’s take one more weapon out of his hands.

(keeps revolver and ammo hidden away with her knife.) No offense, but we will be safer armed… Regardless of potential accidents. Everyone should check their weapons for any more tampering, while aiming away from each other. (Alright so good night for real.)

*Growls annoyed* Look, will you guys stop being morons for a moment here? I’m trying to act calm for your sakes, my husband was just shot and killed right in front of me, I don’t want the same thing to happen to you Miss Suellen.
