I welcome any suggestions as to how the hell we could ever get figurines or plush toys made. From what I can tell, you can use Patch Together, or talk to shady Chinese suppliers with minimum orders of 1500 pieces.

In all honesty, the only way I know to get plush toys or hats would be to make them yourself or find someone who is good with a sewing machine to do them for you. But that usually doesn’t come cheap unless you could find someone desperate. Or you could kidnap a small child, that always works.

I’d get a mug if it didn’t have my least favorite element of BCB on it.

This person makes original sculptures from scratch then uses a resin base to make exact duplicates. I know he does some commissions but you’d probably have to negotiate with him on mass figurines. Just thought you’d like to check it out.

Hey guys, I think I found some people who could make hats and plushies.

http://theboobooshop.multiply.com/ - Plushies

http://hatahhatah.multiply.com/ - Hats

They had a booth in a local toy con just this day and were handing out papers so it’s safe to say that they’re still active with those accounts. I bought a hat from them as well. Impulse buy cause it reminded me of Abbey. That and it was cute :P Well made, cheap (mine was P300, that’s about $5.75) and it saved me from the rain which occurred right as I was in the bus going home.

No idea if they ship abroad though. It seems that they do though as they have an option in their order slip for “anywhere.” There’s also an option for some bulk orders, but I’m not sure. You could ask though. I think this only applies to the plushy store. I can’t access the hat store because I don’t have a Multiply account :P

None of these are really mass produced, though, are they? Handmade stuff is nice for commissions and things, but if I ordered 40 of these, would they be able to supply them, and would they be very cheap? I’m sure they wouldn’t, both in your and kara-yasuragi’s examples.

300 PHP for a hat is pretty fine, I assume that could be discounted and maybe resold here for $15 for a good profit. These are all Filipino things, right? Then again, I don’t know if hats would be all that popular.

I could promote the comic to the chemotherapy ward at the children’s hospital so you could sell the hats. “This is how your life could have been if you had lived to be this old and also were a cat or dog.”

Yep, they’re handmade and both of the dealers in my post are from the Philippines so I don’t think shipping would be so expensive nor would it be impossible. As for bulk ordering, that where I’m not so sure if they can be able to provide. Hats were really abundant in the booth, so were costumes ranging from reversible faux fur jackets to cosplay school uniforms, and once again, pretty cheap. $8 for the jacket and $18 for the uniforms. I didn’t see any plushies though so maybe those are really reserved for commissions.

I have always wanted to tap into the chemotherapy ward market.

@ SuitCase & The Brow

Yeah, they can be made with many programs. I think that would be a good idea to make a casting about this drama podcasts, but i think that Taeshi would become nuts if she hear it. So, that can be an idea.
