BCB in a fantasy setting he says? I can imagine the main six going on some epic quest to save the fair princess Sandy, whom none of them actually -met- but that doesn’t stop the noble paladin Mike from dreaming about her.. likely with Abby, and Daisy as his starting comrads (Wizard, and Healer maybe?) Meeting more heroes along the way… such as the lovable scoundrel Paulo whom seems to be more interested in the groups coin at first until proving himself to be a jerk with a heart of gold; and of course: the ranger Lucy, an anti-social loner who seems to want nothing more then to get the lot out of ‘her woods’ but continues to follow them after words out of a longing for companionship.
Works no? Not sure where we can fit David in without things getting crowded though..

Haha~! I’ve kinda been working on that. My character, Larken, runs a cafe with his uncle. It takes place in the BCB universe…. ever since… I submitted Larken as a fan characters.

I find the idea of alternate universes interesting considering if people make plausible fancomics, I count it as canon. Basically whenever I get fancharacters I immediately consider them existing in the story, just as other students in the background. I Sony see any need to have Larken’s cafe as an alternate universe thing, for example. My brain imagines it as just another location. This is why I’m so lenient with fancharacters.
Of course there’s the exceptions, like I’ve gotten tiger fancharacters before and I would just not count them in my head because I only want it to be cats and dogs. I can use Ved as an example, I actually wouldn’t use the Ved character himself since there aren’t animals like that in BCB but I’d certainly imagine Jack and Lacy and the other girl as characters existing in the comic. Not taking property, it just makes sense.
Unless of course the person wants the characters not included.
Now on the topic of BCB alternate universes, I did do some spinoffs when I was a kid. I’ll share it for the sake of entertainment and embarrassment.
There was the original BCB which actually had Lucy as a seven year old and Mike as 14 and he was always flirting with her and she was always maiming him, that was.. it
eventually as I grew older (Lucy was always my age) I realised 14x7 was creepy so I bumped their ages heaps close, which are the ages you see now.. only at the time Lucy would be 10.. then 11.. an it wouldn’t be creepy
I then got into anime. And Lucy became a magical girl with a “special form” which was a fluffy-haired cat. That form has actually been sprinkled in the comic, as a separate character. She appears in page 2 of Out of the Frama, I believe. And she’s background of Chapter 55s first page. She’s got a pretty Sakuraish hairdo.
Anyway her magical power was copying and absorbing powers from enemies and just “unlocking them” and it was embarrassing and lame and she was madly in love with Mike and Mike was madly in love with Daisy DAISY WAS BASICALLY SANDY ONLY WITHOUT THE LONG DISTANCE she was kidnapped
OH AND THERE WERE IMPOSTORS. Like Daisy gets kidnapped and replaced early on and NOBODY REALISES UNTIL WAYYY LATER it was convoluted and embarrassing and nooo
then there’s a short alternate universe I made where they all go to school camp and Mike’s personality was basically Ryudo from Grandia II - A COMPLETE JERK
Oh and my god Lucy was like this whiny sweet stupid annoying girl, basically Elena from the same game! I swear to god, she was Mary sue to the core in this version. Annoying moemoooeee
and there’s a ghost and shit and I forget but it’s just so bad

You mean Rei Ayanami. I actually think Sandy could take Gendo Ikari’s role as the distant figure that never reciprocates his affections. As for Rei, I’d say Amaya is quiet enough.

Ah, don’t be a prude mate! If you see Evangelion, they only hint at Gendo’s and Rei’s relationship, or that’s what I’ve seen so far from Rebuild of Evangelion. I don’t think they did any different in the original run, especially after the Misato x Ryoji fiasco…

After seeing Sue’s icon I just thought, you could totally do a parody of the BBC comedy Hippies with the judges from Casting Call. It could be like a modern day version of the show set in the States instead of London. Sue would be Ray (regardless of how much she tries, no one cares), Jessica would be Jill (if she had a thing for teasing Sue and then smacking her with sowt hard), and the other chum whose name I don’t recall could be Alex (cause all he has to do is sit around smoking and only speak to say an intelligent thing or tell a great anecdote). As for the ditz Hugo, Katie fills the part perfectly.

BCB in a medieval setting. Lucy would be the aloof princess with ridiculous insecurities with Daisy as the smart younger princess, Mike would be a squire and get knighted at some point, there would be some kind of storyline where she blackmails him into getting her out of the castle, Paulo would clearly be some kind of local grabass who keeps trying to get into Lucy’s dress but always manages to escape trouble and ends up with Tess, a local barmaid who we first meet during the aforementioned ‘royal vacation,’ etc etc. Lucy’s pets would be hers and Daisy’s servants, Lily would basically be the same thing
McCain would be the creepy advisor’s apprentice who always shows up at the worst possible time. He would quite obviously be the favorite character of EVERYONE.

I was once planning to do an April Fool’s chapter in which BCB was in a horrifically dramaridden angsty universe like Degrassi only 10X the awful. Like some of them were going to die (Mike gets hit by a car, Lucy commits suicide when she finds out because of overdependency, etc), some of them had addictions (Daisy was bulimic, Paulo was into drugs), some of them were wayyy exaggerated (Abbey’s anger issues were so awful he actually attacks Daisy), and some of them were just batshit insane (David was “lolrandom” in the creepy mentally-deranged way, he’s the one that hits Mike in the car)
I wrote a description of it and the file is named “Bittersweet Gurobowl” fffffffffffffffffffffffff
OBV IOUSLY THAT CHAPTER WOULD TAKE SO MUCH FREAKEN EFFORT TO MAKE so i never went along with it. But I wanted to make it look official so that people would think ALL THAT STUFF IS CANON when it was just all a horrible horrible joke.

Dieselpunk and Atompunk are also pretty fucking awesome.

sue will be like the backup, giving them information and guiding them, from the police depot,
amaya will be like the special ops sniper, because she don’t talk, she’s an expert in stealth.

Alright, I came up with an idea for a separate future, maybe two years or so down the road, where Mike loses Sandy in a nasty way and events snowball leading to his corruption. Basically the point was to create an extremely brutal but tragic villain.
The real problem is that some of the things I had him do in this hypothetical timeline are completely fucked up. Point: when Abbey tries to stand up to him, he gets revenge by switching the pinata at his sister’s birthday party with a similar one filled with photos of their mother at the crime scene.
All this because my research in writing lately has been a fascination with monster-building. So here’s the idea, but I doubt I’d write it.

I was thinking, aside from BCB porn (which has as of now been discussed in detail in around 5 different threads), what other alternate BCB ideas do people get?
To start it off:
1) A spin-off taken by a different author(s)/artist(s) (with Taeshi’s permission of course) using secondary characters. (Like Cheer! did with The Wotch)
2) A completely alternate version of BCB, while keeping the original cast. (like Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days or Petit Eva: Evagelion @ School).
So those two ideas I had, I don’t know what people think could work as other versions of BCB, but any ideas could be awesome no matter how nut it sounds. Even mecha-cats would do actually cunt that as 3). I have this great image of a giant Lucy-bot beating the living crap of a Mike-bot. I have too much time in my hands…
