Check out some of the others and their critiques. Make sure to research characters fairly explicitly if you are using the BCB crew. As long as your story is clear and understandable, you shouldn’t have a problem.

So, like, Anything by Maverik is great basis for fanstory work and writing in general.
Oh, and taeshi is not pleased with fancharacter inserts anymore. Fair warning.

@Sean
I will look at the characters in the story and see what looks interesting.
@Ace
Does that mean that I can’t make fan characters?
if yes, crap.

Oh no, you can, it’s just… certain people have gotten chewn out for making fanstories that basically are just stories about their fancharacters. Mine was never very good so it didn’t gain enough attention to get chewn out. Go for if if you want though.

Although that wasn’t my intention, that is how mine turned out…It was meant to be about stopping the bad guys, but due to the failure of the first story, the second became a rewrite that was supposed to give a background to the characters, so that their existence in the BCB universe made sense…..Either way that’s in the past now, and I’m still sorry the story ended up being interpreted as such and for annoying Taeshi… I thouroughly enjoy her work and did not wish to smear it like I ended up doing….The current running story is the First and last that is inteded to focus on my characters.

I’m kinda repeating what some people said here. But if you do anything with the main characters in your story. Ask yourself this: “How would (character name) react in this situation?” It has helped me a great deal. And yeah, good luck on your story if you decide to post it ![]()

I say go for it. Also, don’t be afraid to let your story evolve.
As for fan-character inserts, I guess it’s more understandable for a fan-comic, but not so much for a fan story. I’m guessing this is mostly because of how hard it is to simply introduce a character you made yourself into a piece of fan literature. I mean, you already have these established characters from BCB. Wouldn’t describing a fan-character take away from the story?
And no finger pointing at me and what I’m doing with my comic. Because, for the record, the comic in my art thread is about Larken and the crew at Coffee Juice. BCB characters simply appear in it. Several other artists do this in these here forums. Besides, I’m not so good at writing full fan comics. I worry too much about keeping the characters authentic. I screwed up with Stacy.
And yeah, look at anything that Maverick has done for a good example. He is the best fan fiction writer in these here parts. And remember, you can go effin’ crazy with this shizzit. I mean, we have people writing about BCB in space.
