Bittersweet Candy Bowl

—————————Murder Mystery Number 4:Wayward Souls.———————————————-
A quick explanation of what this is to those unfamiliar with the Murder Mystery games:This is a mix of a ‘role playing’ game and a ‘Forum’ game which is open to players of all skill levels. Each of the players choose one of the characters bellow to play through a murder mystery role playing the story out. As time passes on the Host (that would be me) will cause events to happen that will lead to someones death.. as well as provide clues as to whom is really behind the murders! After 2-3 days of gaming and 3-5 murders everyone has a chance to guess who the true killer is!

The characters being used are ‘re-flavoured’ versions of the BcB main cast to make it easier to pick them up quickly for novice players. Taken out of their usual setting and given slightly different personality’s and histories. This time around our heroes are in space! All Guests or crew members on a remote space station. A pit stop for those travelling the stars!

As you walk out of the shuttle bay and into the gray steel hallways of the station before your eyes a cat girl starts to form pixel by pixel. Spinning slowly as she floats in the air surrounded by what looks like a torrent of energy. Finally she looks your way, brown furred, eyes a strange In-human gray; the ‘energy’ wrapping around her tightly until it forms a cute little White outfit:with Jacket, Gloves, Boots, and shorts all of which with glowing blue bits here and there for decoration.

She smiles widely cheerfully saying “Hello! Welcome to the Wayward station of sector 2437! Though I much prefer to be called just Molly! If you haven’t guessed yet I’m the stations primary A.I, Communications officer, and primary guide… if you’ve got any questions about this place just give me a ring okay!”

You just shake your head and keep on walking but the hologram, whom looks 18 or so, just keeps following. But.. with artificial humans you can never really tell

Arms folded she leans back looking left and right bit of a frown on her face “Yeah… yeah I know nothings really going on here right now, it’s WAY boring, I’m really sorry. We’re normally a pit stop for spacer tourists and stuff…but well yeah….it’s sort of the slow season….”

She rubs the back of her head not being quite sure what to say to get your spirits up

“So we don’t even have more than twenty people here!….We DID have this really big science conference a little while ago…that was fun! Everyone wanted to take a look at the Gas-Giant we’re floating around. Poor Gramps had his hand full keeping all those airheads in check let me tell you! But he ain’t the Captain for nothing!… after it was over most of the staff wanted a week off so….”

Getting not so much as a word from you the poor girl pouts a bit and lets out a sigh

“Okay Mister.. it’s pretty clear you don’t want to hear about that…..So… what -do- you want to know?”

STAFF
Molly Wayward Station Age:21 Host Character
What? I just told you about me Dummy! Look up! Uh.. let me think… I’m about 21 years old now. I control most of the ship functions too. Oh! The hologram thing! I can’t actually touch anything just so you know… save certain places in the engine and Holo-Rooms. I’d like to think I have more ‘personality’ than some of the other stations out there. Mehhhh… Bro says I’m really ‘immature’ and ‘whiny’ sometimes. He’s way wrong!

Captain Kane Alek Age:55 (McCain)
The Captain of the ship! But me and my Bro always just call him ‘Gramps’! He raised the both of us you know after….well yeah lets not get into that. He’s been captain of the station since I first came online. He can be pretty serious sometimes but he’s a great guy once you get to know him honest!

Doctor Tesla Lock Age:33 (Tess)
Nehhhh~ Okay okay. Tesla is a nice lady really. Always willing to help out those in need and stuff but she REALLY hates me. Hates all artificial beings in fact. Says you can’t trust anything that ‘Pretends’ to be alive. She seems really depressed lately though. Anyway when she isn’t whining about machines she’s hanging out with Dalia and Ray. What? Why would Ray hate Tesla for? No clue what you’re talking about….

Nurse Dalia Faey Age:24 (Daisy)
I like Dalia! She’s always so cheerful and nice! Full of energy bouncing around and is one of the few who’s willing to gossip a bit! She also scolds Doctor Lock for being so mean to me so that’s always a plus.. Both my Bro and Aurelius have HUGE crushes on her too. I feel sort of bad for Dalia… she’s friends with both..which makes it real hard to choose you know? Doesn’t want to break any hearts.

Chief Engineer Abel Wayward Age:26 (Abbey)
My brother! Well not my REAL brother obviously but we grew up to together pretty much! His…. Dad… also was my original engineer…but.. well..I’d rather not talk about him. He can be a bit too serious at times… and WAY over-protective of me..but you know how brothers are huh? Love him though. Hates Aurelius guts….puts up with him to keep things professional. Hehe think Bros just a little jealous don’t you ^_~
Bartender “Son of Ka” Age:?? (Carson)
What can I say about Ka? He’s all about love! But almost all the guys here are….but with him it’s a little different. Like love is some sort of poetic, religious experience, It’s really weird, just some belief system his species has. He’s always trying to set people up and give them advice pretty good at it too. Still he’s a really good bartender… maybe I shouldn’t say ‘he’ here..Ka’s race has no gender…so he’s free to pair up with anyone. Look out boys!

Rachel “Ray” Deilfin Age:23 (Rachel)
Poor Ka had to give almost all his staff some time off…so we’ve left with only Rachel to keep an eye on the tables…but I guess we still have a few Droids. Couldn’t even convince her best friend to stay for the over-time pay go figure! But yeah…what can I say about ‘Ray’? She’s sort of like… a more wicked version of Dalia when I think about it:Cheerful and childish but with an edge. Really doesn’t like people who ‘take life too seriously’ like Gramps or Abel.

GUESTS
Doctor Mike Smith Age:?? (Mike)
This guy is pretty strange. He dresses in super old fashioned 20th century clothes, with an old brown suit, and this HUGE blue scarf…yet… he seems to know -everything-. Other times he rambles on like he’s crazy or talks about things everyone on the station knows about already. Don’t get me started on what his shuttle looks like… Must have been cramped in that tiny blue box.. (Note:If you don’t get who this character is suppose to be beyond Mike I wouldn’t recommend playing it.)

Lucy Saxon Age:20 (Lucy)
Mikes um… ‘Companion’ I guess? They keep insisting they aren’t involved or anything but they way she sticks close to her ‘Doctor’? Hehe… as Ka would say ‘Frustration and bickering are often the greatest forms of affection’. She’s a tough chick though, that much I’m sure of, but Mister Smith keeps having to explain -everything- to her! It’s as if she was born in the century her clothes were….

Apalo Alpha-44 Age:31 (Paulo)
Hehe this Foxy love machine could give both Aurelius and Ka a run for their money let me tell you! Only been in the station for a day or so and he’s already got almost all the girls blushing at least once. A traveller that goes wherever the solar winds take him! A spacer, an explorer! You know the type. Seems really sad when Tesla is around though…but given she hates androids guts that isn’t a surprise.

Sula Toss Age:29 (Sue)
Remember that science thing I talked about earlier? Yeah Sula was one of the scientists present for that, she stayed behind to monitor some equipment they setup for researching the Gas Giant. Serious girl really into her work you know? Thing is .. she really -didn’t- need to stay behind… I could have handled that stuff easy! Hehehe… me thinks Miss Toss has an eye for older men, particularly those with big black noses, and fluffy white fur if you get my drift.

Ambassador Davier Age:?? (Dave)
From a galaxy far, far, away, I think this brown dog might have left his brain behind before leaving! He talks in this really sort of backwards non-sense sort of way….but I dunno, sometimes what he says has this weird sense too it. He seems to know both Gramps and Apalo the three even trade old Space-adventure tales from time to time. Likely the only time Gramps can stand the two!

May Age:?? (Amaya)
Don’t.. really know much about this orange girl. She seems to be Daviers servant or something.. or wife.. or sister… it’s hard to tell. Davier never gives a straight answer and I’m pretty sure she’s mute too…but I dunno… people say they get these weird ‘feelings’ around her. As if she can tell you what she wants by just staring. Kinda creepy…but sorta polite. When she isn’t stopping Davier from doing something dumb she’s hanging out with Sula; seems she’s taken a liking to the nerd girls company.

Zan Dogabay Age:93 (Sandy)
Is from a slow-ageing race of sages and it sure as heck shows! 93 and she still looks like a teenager! Gliding along the deck like some sort of angel eee~… intimidating let me tell you. Always wise, always patient, always having a nice bit of advice to tell nugh.. way too perfect. But don’t let that make you think she doesn’t know how to have fun either! Has a real dry sense of humour and can be real tease too. Seems to be the only one who knows what Mister Smiths deal is…though he doesn’t seem to have any idea who she is.

YashKildor the slayer of Blurmax Age:27 (Yashy!)
Whoa whoa! I never expected to see one of those Warrior lizards this far out! Yashkildor is from a race of warriors who live for battle. Don’t let her four foot tall height fool you either:She’s can kick your butt easy! Real bitch too….but she owes some sort of ‘Life debt’ to Zanny so she does whatever the pretty girl says.

———————————————————-SHIP GUIDE—————————————————————————-
What? You want to see my blueprints? Oh my! I don’t think we know each other well enough for that yet! But fine fine. I’m pretty much just a big metal Cylinder spinning in space with one big ring around it. There’s multiple elevators, stairs, and hallways to get around the place.

Some important notes though… I don’t really have any GUNS or CANNONS or anything. I’m not a warship here! There are a few standard issue blasters on board, but only the Captain and the engineers have access to them. A few of the guests might have brought their own…but nothing war-grade.

I also don’t know what you’ve heard about teleporting tech…but there’s nothing that can ‘beam you up’ on this station so stop asking! I’m government owned…though there’s still some private enterprise going on here too…particularly with the bar..but it’s the republic who calls the shots in the end.


Top floor-Command
Exactly what it says on the tin! The command deck. The very highest point in the station, filled with computers, controls, and a very comfy chair for Gramps to sit on. Guests aren’t allowed in here….save Sula anyway who has all her science gear set up in here.

The Docking Ring
That big ring that goes around the station? Yeah that’s where the big ships attach to the station…we don’t actually have an enclosed dock for the REALLY big ships after all! The place is pretty empty right now though… as we’ve only got smaller ships docked with us right now. A nice place to go if you want to get away from it all and just ‘walk the ring’.

Fourth Floor-The Lobby
A large area where you can stare into space simply by looking up at the ‘Glass’ ceiling or windows This is where the bar and our various entertainment systems are kept (Including a holodeck! You should visit me there sometime!) . Plenty of seats, tables, drinks, and private rooms to be had! Most of the civilian exits from the Docking bay and Ring lead here.

Third Floor-The Docking Bay/Storage
Where people keep their small civilian ships and shuttles. It’s also where we stick most of our supplies. It’s all set up to act as a repair shop too! There’s actually a small brig down here as well, but we’ve never really had to use it for anything else but the occasional drunk. With Force fields AND bars.. as what sort of idiot would make a jail that’s useless without power?

Second Floor-Crew/Guest Rooms.
Do I really need to explain this? This is where all our various rooms are which come in plenty of shapes and sizes. All high quality really! Two things of note about this floor though… this is where the main ‘Sick bay’ is if you’re ever hurt this is the floor to get to. Also that the crew rooms are separated from the civilian ones so don’t expect to just barge in without the proper access key!

First floor-Engineering
Where the engine is stored obviously! Also where my main hard-drive is too…this is the place that keeps the station running. The place is empty most of the time believe it or not.. the poor engineers are busy fixing minor problems all over the station like janitors while my heart and soul is always reliable!

——————————————————RULES (READ THIS!)———————————————————
-Keep things Detailed! Every post should be around three lines long, with one line being dedicated to description only. Try to make it clear where on the ship you are from time to time…just so those catching up have a frame of reference.
-Always wait until at least two other characters post until making another post of your own.
-If I post [RED LIGHT] all posting must stop until I make another detailed post that ends with [GREEN LIGHT]. This is mostly to give me a chance to type out detailed descriptions of events.
-If I post [REACTION] all the following posts may only have your -reaction- to the event I just posted not the results of action taken (Unless you’re no where near the event obviously). As an example: if I caused a door to suddenly lock behind you… and reaction is to try and break through the lock in a panic…you’d have to wait until my next post to see if you escaped.
-The Reaction rule may be ignored if I take more then two hours to post again. As if that happens I’ve likely been unexpected dragged away from the computer due to an emergency.
-Shipping, even with unusual characters, is allowed as long as you keep it work safe.
-I will announce when the game is coming to an end, and request players start making their guesses about who’s behind it all.
-I will also occasionally take control of Un-used NPCs to make them ‘present’ in the game. If you see a character post with (Host) added to the name that character is still free to use. With the exception of Molly of course.


—————————————————————- RPTIPS———————————————————————————-
-Keep things reasonable! Don’t pull out bombs or magically warp around. Your characters are mortals (Well for the most part) not gods. That includes time lords with Sonic screw drivers! It isn’t a magic wand!
-Keep your reactions realistic and in-character. Don’t jump from one emotion to the next without any reason or build up. Don’t openly accuse your love interest of being the love murder without -some- form of regret. That sort of thing.
-Don’t call another player out for breaking the rules. That’s the hosts job. Just make a small note of it.. and leave it at that. Don’t make it into an argument.
-Don’t play the same hero twice! If you’ve already tried a character in a previous mystery game why play it again? Do something different and let someone else have a go.’
-Keep in mind:I will not kill only ‘NPC’ heroes. You’re just as open to being killed as everyone else! Be prepared to grab an un-used character just in case.
-For those playing Androids:You don’t act like a Robot! You act like a person with metal insides. So no rambling on like a Star Wars robot or action emotionless like Data. You are however stronger then the typical being of flesh and blood.

(There we go. Feel free to start grabbing characters and posting in-character at various places on the ship. You’re pretty much free to interact with each other as you wish until tomorrow when the first murder shall take place.)

Good thing Aurelius is around to fix things when my bro goofs up let me tell you. He’s a super smart, smarter than a scientist three times his age they used to say. This cool and smooth android catches the eyes of all the girls who see him but he ain’t no flirt. Too bad for him one of those girls didn’t like being ignored and made up this stupid assault story to make him loose his old job…

Assistant Engineer Jimmy Justice Age:20 (Justin)
You’d think with such a bad-ass name Jimmy would be some action hero but he’s anything but! He’s this timid little puppy dog that jumps that every little sound! You should see the look on his face the first time I appeared in front of him Hehehehehe so adorable! It’s just so fun tormenting him all the time. Think I might be over doing it just a bit.

*Having recently arrived with Ambassador Davier, May decides that she had best explore the area outside of the guest room she just left him in. She goes over to the elevators to see where she should start. Noticing there is a lobby she decides to go and see if anyone is around, so that she can know who she is going to be staying with. She notices a woman in a nurse’s uniform talking in the corner with other staff, and a strange looking man discussing with a woman and the ship’s A.I.

She goes to sit in a corner, pulls out a book, and reads while watching the people around her.*

(I figure writing a silent character is easier third person)

“Well duh!” The Hologram says arms folded, looking a bit insulted that he’d even suggest it. “Backups, Firewalls, secondary protecting systems, all up to date, and customized. There’s no freaking way anyone messing with this.” She taps her head once or twice “Besides~ I’ve got Abel watching my back, There’s nobody who can get the best of my bro~” she gives a wide smile at that thought before floating around the doctors Companion who looks a tad nervous and annoyed.

“Hm… she really hasn’t seen a Hologram before? What did you pick her up at some feral world or something? CAN YOU UNDERSTAND ME CAVE LADY?!”

Although she knows that the most likely destination is whatever they have set up as a sick bay on this ship. Making sure not to approach get too close to any of the other guests, especially the lizard woman.*

*Ka is cleaning some of his glasses when he looks up and spots all the new guests entering the lobby and grins*

Mmm these new guests look like they could be some fun!

*He then poors himself a drink*

(For the record Apalo IS an Android. A very ‘human’ like one granted but yeah. Depends on IF you die and if you regenerate quickly enough good doctor. Time lords -can- fail to regenerate you know)

Molly gives a rapid wave to the Nurse as she walks off being sure to fade out and reappear near the bar across from Ka; sitting on an imaginary bar-stool, legs dangling in the air. “Hmm? Well~ They might be a little fun” she glances towards Apalo and the lizard that are a stone throws away..being sure not to be so loud that they can hear.

“Hehe..-really- fun if this goes any further. Think the lizard lady is going to club him and drag him off~?”

“your loss baby, Slurp, snort”

slaps Apalo on the ass and walks back to her corner

“oh and i can smell metal in ya clanker puss, so no deniying it, maybe later than”

(As YashKildor’s approaches, he quickly points to Lucy and after whispering to her to play along, exclaims that he is taken&hellip However, I do believe Apalo there was pulling your leg…(Walks her back over.) As a Love bot, he is required to meet any womanly needs…(Winks at Apalo.) She’s all yours mate.

Looking around she notices the computer A.I. shining in the back, a bar. She decides to go over there to watch the people moving about. She gives a little smile to the man who now sits by the bar, before turning to the bartender and pointing at the water tap behind him with a look that implies she wants something.*

*Covers her mouth with her hand in what appears to be a silent giggle, before grabbing her water and retreating to a table without saying a word to either of the two “men” (Neither are really men are they. /rhetorical question). As she walks away she looks back and gives Apalo a look which is simultaneously playful and chiding for his behaviour.*
