I KNOW! I needed forever to get one too- took me 3 days to get my pokéwalker to spit it out xD

Why not keep those Pokémon, but create another team for battling?

I mean, if I had a Skitty, I would never use it for anything but walking around and looking at it. I’d even have cuddled with it, if that was at all possible. ^_^

I want to have one of each kind of Pokémon, so I keep the small, tiny and cute ones along with the big, strong and all too often ugly ones. ^_^

For instance, I’ll keep Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu alongside each other, but I’ll only use Raichu for competitive battling.

That said, I mostly play the 3rd generation games so I can use my Pokémon for contests as well. So I have a Pichu for contests, a Pikachu for contests and possibly battling and a Raichu for battling. And, of course, I have them because I like them.

I’ve got all 151 Pokémons on the original Red and Blue. Does that count? :P

Yes, that includes a Legitimate copy of Mew. (I even have, or had, a Mew Certificate from Nintendo xD.)

My Mew just had a grand adventure.

Basically she (I CALL HER A SHE I KNOW MEWS ARE GENDERLESS BUT YOU KNOW) had to be traded from Emerald all the way to SoulSilver via Pal Park.. but I wanted her to learn Embargo.. so I had to send her off to Diamond, teach her Embargo, and then send her back to SoulSilver.

She’s gonna be my pal now :DDDD Level 10, gonna raise it up~!

I think I basically finalised my team :(

I got Meganium, Empoleon, current Pupitar (Will be Tyranitar), Blaziken, Kangaskhan, and now Mew. I know I should probably get another Pokemon and not Kangaskhan, but she’s been AMAZING to me. She’s won me so many battles and she can freaken beat up GHOSTS. She’s my normal bro. My pillar of strength.

Taeshi May 7, 2010, 12:14 PM EST.

Comment ID #17489

I love normal-type pokemon. Their high hp’s can make them such a pain for my opponent. Kangaskhan is one of the best normal-types in my opinion.

Gabriel Kaxbe May 7, 2010, 12:17 PM EST.

Comment ID #17517

I love teaching normal pokemon thunder.
I had a persian in leafgreen who I taught that and people we all, “what the f— is this bullshit?!”

Too bad skitty normalizes everything…

Ace May 7, 2010, 1:25 PM EST.

Comment ID #17519

Not if it has Cute Charm.

It does get STAB from all (offensive) attacks with Normalize, though.

ILB May 7, 2010, 1:29 PM EST.

Comment ID #17523

Yup! And becasue I don’t believe in non-offensive attacks (besides status effectors), assist always does something as well!

my Team is
blastoise, arkanine, honchcrow, pikachu, hitmonchan and a kind of open spot which right now is dragonair&pupitar

>.< I loved gold/silver, but I just dunno… is it worth getting the remakes if I haven’t touched a game in the series since ruby/sapphire from fatigue? The gameplay was just getting a bit stale.

I admit I may not be the ideal audience for pokemon. I tend to get very attached to a few pokemon out of the first 10 or so I catch and then just power through the main storyline with them, beat the elite four and I’m done. I almost never even check my boxes… @_@

MOOMANiBE May 9, 2010, 5:30 AM EST.

Comment ID #18588

God I do that too. I’m just like “I just want to kick some ass with my top six.” so I catch like 12 until I get the 6 I think I need, let the rest rot in my PC, and then slaughter any living soul that gets in my way.

My brother would always brag how he had more Pokemon, but then I’d challenge him to a duel and he’d see how my team was like on steroids from all the training I did on those six.

My first ever video game was blue, since then I’ve had
Silver, Gold, Crystal (Yes, I got all three in the 2nd generation, gold and crystal were gifts)
Ruby, Emerald
Diamond, Platinum
Soulsilver
Honestly the 2nd generation was the best in my mind, which is the only reason I got soulsilver, I don’t wan’t fire red/leaf green. And that’s it for me, I will not get black/white, things are starting to get rediculously repetitive. Exept for blue and my first play through of silver I’ve always chosen the fire starter.

@Quacksalver:

To be honest, there’s a lot of places you could have seen it o.o I use this name for everything.
I’ve got a dA account, which seems like the most likely place you would have seen me. I’ve been on-and-off active on a number of comic forums for years. I have a pretty senior gamefaqs / gamespot board account. I was fairly well known for doing a map for Guild Wars…. Anything ring a bell?
Edit: Oh yeah I was #4 on the leaderboard for Osu for a while and made a beatmap-making tutorial before I wildly burned out.

@_@ I feel off topic now. Uhhhhhhh… HEY LOOK A COMPLETELY ABSURD POKEMON PARODY ON YOUTUBE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edym6_vnjUw

Tee hee ^_^

They still have gemstones they can use, though. And precious metals. Admittedly, “Pokémon Lace Agate” lacks a certain flair, but I’d love to see something like “Pokémon Amber”.

Pokemon Red Tide. Pokemon Black Death. Pokemon White Supremacy.

Also, I’m of the opinion that it’s time Pokemon just give up the ghost.

Also also, I believe I’ve seen you one certain sections of the Keenspot forums.

Didn’t they already have Pokemon Maize? (Also known as “corn” :D)

They’ll do what Metal Gear did. Pokemon Solid. Pokemon Liquid. Pokemon Acid. Pokemon Crystal Meth. Pokemon Uncut Cocaine.

Yes, Pokemon is fairly repetative. Yes, it’s absurd to have (pending white/black) over 500 Pokemon. But, it is in the top 5 franchises Nintendo has, if not the top 3, topped most likely by Zelda and Mario.

Erebus May 10, 2010, 3:33 AM EST.

Personally I predict the next one will be Pokemon Puce.

Haha. I’ll be honest, the footage of Pokemon Black/White really underwhelmed me. Maybe they just showed it to early? I dunno. >_> the DS just makes 3d look so ugly.

If they release Black and White on the 3DS, I’ll buy it. The last Pocket Monsters game I played was Red, so maybe it’s time for me to get back on that old saddle… Ironically, I think that’s the metaphor I used the last time I hit on an ex-girlfriend. Hm.

Pokemon is shit and tired and repetitive like every other Nintendo game. It is still basically Pokemon from the Game Boy. They need to step it up, and not with shit 1995-era faux 3D that predates the goddamn first game anyway

I really don’t think that changing the games completely would be a good move. And they really are not the same as they were in the first generation; there have been both greater and lesser innovations with each new game. Granted, the premise is still the same, but it’s too much of a staple to make changes to the standard storyline.

And really, there is a large difference between Red/Blue and the current games. We have double battles, contests, Pokémon breeding, Berry growing, weather and landscapes, the Underworld, day/night cycles, minigames, your Pokémon following you around, the Pokéathlon, the Pokéwalker, and so on. Though the basic idea still is to catch and train your Pokémon, there are so many other ways to use the game. I do not agree with people who claim that the newer games are wannabe versions of the first.

But, of course, I will not deny that there are weak points to the franchise. And I can understand that people are jaded with the format, I really can. The sheer number of Pokémon might also be discouraging, although I myself enjoy having a challenge in catching them.
One thing I would like to see, though, is a touch of the settler age. The regions right now are inhabited and explored all over, and I’d love to see a slight change to that. Perhaps having large areas where there are only wild Pokémon, and they’re stronger than usual so that there is no need for Trainers? Small towns, with primitive Pokémon Centres and Pokémarts, could replace the major cities that are everywhere. In short, I’d like to see a region in its pioneer stage, preferrably shortly after it was discovered. I realise this would be incredibly difficult to implement well, but I can always hope it’ll happen. ^_^

Started with Blue, then: yellow, gold, crystal, ruby, diamond, platinum, and finally Soul silver, which despite a few little changes was basically crystal. Everyone just keeps remaking remakes of remakes. Let’s out insane laughter. Oh and occording to quizzes I’m Mewtwo, despite not seeing myself as superior. Very modest person. ;)

I’ve got Soul-Silver, years ago I watched the anime, but unfortunetly it was not in the cards for me to be able to afford a gameboy. After a while my interest died down until a friend let me play Platinum. I love Umbreon, Mew, Vulpix, Latias, and Buizel.
I’m running a team of all Eevee evolutions just for fun atm.
I chose my starter for SS as Cyndaquil, but now I’m wishing I had Chikorita.

I pretty much play Pokémon just to take part on the online matches and the tourneys that go around. It’s a fun game too, but main reason is the multiplayer backstage.

The anime gone stale |P Been the same thing since I was 15 (almost ten years ago!) The spinoffs are another story though :D But the movies… Ergh, well, some pocket change traded by an Arceus is good enough for me.
