@ Gnukko The First word is supposed to be “Beautiful” and the second one is supposed to be “Shit”

Fair enough. I’ll keep an eye out for when you resume, though. Maybe by then I’ll have the digital skills to colour for you.

…I hope.

That’d be sweet, I’m actually thinking about going back to the ones I’ve done and fix them so they look more like lucy, the current one’s just seem blah to me right now.

I’m saying this because I haven’t been around and when I saw the link to your OC I was like, “I’m gonna go with the first name that jumps out at me at seeing this guy instead of giving a random one.”

I got Rork. Is that weird? I just thought it fits.

Pffhahahahahahahahaha Fiona you gigantic slut

I like Mykola. Even though he just seems to be classic Paulo 2.0

the best thing about the hitting on Daisy joke is that you can pretend Daisy OR Abbey are punching him

I actually started to notice that about Mykola, that he is reminding me of how Paulo used to be before he went soft with Tess. He’s not always going to be this large of a pervert but it gets it out in the open that he doesn’t afraid of anything.

I didn’t mean to make Fiona seem so easy D: He’s supposed to be the cute foreign version of Michael (Or somethin along those lines) P.S. I’m trying to learn Ukrainian so I can actually say some of the words I write. The written language is FUCK UP D:

Mykola’s First Kiss

Dialogue (for those who can’t read it because of the bullshit scanner and photoshop):
Mykola: “So Fi, I bought some insense I thought we could light for tonight.”
Fiona: “Niedlich, but I’ll have to pass this time.”
Mykola: “Aww! They were really expensive ones too…”
Fiona: “Until you learn how to treat a girl right you’re not getting any more from me.”
Mykola: “You don’t play fair you know that?”
Fiona: “You’ll just have to settle for this…”
-Kissu-
Mykola: “I… I think I’m okay with settling…”

I like how you’re blaming the scanner for the dialogue not being legible. It’s not that at all, the scanner seems fine to me. It’s the handwriting itself! That kind of handwriting is a pain in the ass to read in comics, you need to be more legible by not having it look all cursivey and stuff. Practice it, don’t make them look all bunched up..

Drawing isn’t all that needs to be understandable in a comic, writing is a huge part of it as well so you really need to work on that. I suppose you can give us the whole “oh it was rushed!!” reason regarding these cute comics, but yeah. why do comics get posted here on the forums that are so freaken hard to understand, people need to take more time writing because the joke or the meaning is lost if the reader is left trying to decipher whatever hieroglyphics were written.

this is just me being a comics nazi, especially one that used to suffer the exact same problem - my chicken-scratch handwriting causing people to be confused with old chapters. It’s an annoying issue in many comics that have handwriting applied to it and neatness is great.. otherwise using digital text.

Taeshi July 9, 2010, 7:44 AM EST.

There’s nothing wrong with being a comic nazi, atleast I’m getting criticism finally, and can try and work with it to make my stuff better. I need to work on my handwriting, it’s always been a problem haha.

I’m hoping with getting a tablet I can spend more time learning new ways to write so that I don’t keep running into the problem of illegible content.

That and actually write scripts, because for now all of the comics I’ve drawn were spur of the moment hey this seems like a fun idea lets go with it! I should take more time planning them out instead of just writing what comes into my head haha

ScarfNinja July 9, 2010, 8:02 AM EST.

Comment ID #57613

Well you don’t have to write scripts all the time, I’m sure you’re just experimenting and practicing, and I think the dialogue you’ve used is pretty good.. like it’s not awkward, at least to me. It’s fun doing random comics and just seeing where it goes, it’s more the technical aspects that need a bit of tweaking!

haha baby steps, next you will create dialogue bubbles!

Taeshi July 9, 2010, 8:08 AM EST.

Comment ID #57616

Oh man, I think dialogue bubbles are gonna be the running phase haha, I still need to get drawing anatomy without it looking completely ridiculous xD

You also need to border these panels to make them look more like an actual comic. :3

Ved of Flames July 9, 2010, 1:35 PM EST.

Comment ID #57681

That however, I dunno if I’d be able to do just yet with how I draw, I’m too inconsistent with sizes at the moment ): Maybe when I get a tablet I’ll be able to draw however inconsistent and be able to go back and resize them all to fit together afterwords…. that or just learn how to be consistent haha whichever one comes first I suppose.

Hopefully with this next drawing I’m working on I’ll be able to get a decent start in the right direction :3

I make thumbnails so I can imagine easier what everything looks like in the panels. Try it out.

P.S. I FIGURED OUT THE SCANNING PROBLEM! 70dpi is not good for images with text you want people to read…. (I’m going to be rescanning past images in hopes that they can be properly read in the format they were drawn)
