Once Sebastian rushed in the direction of the fireball, something jumps on him from above, pinning him to the ground. Before he can react, he is stabbed in the chest, piercing his heart and killing him instantly. The killer stands and attempts to run out of sight of the rest of the party.

He almost stepped out of the formation too, but could hold himself back.
Close-range combat isn’t a good option right now! Spellcasters shall start to give us the chance.

Meanwhile… in another universe, The fool, The empress and The devil react to Sebastian’s death.

Tybold knew it was too late for Sebastian, and so she focused on the target. She raised her staff, and muttered something under her breath. A sudden bright flash exploded in front of the target, with blinding white light and enough force to throw a large male backwards several feet.

Tybold June 24, 2010, 1:33 AM EST.

Who are you and why are you here?!

Sean’s fireball hits its target. Something which seems to be a rogue comes out from hiding, waving his arms desperately as he burns.

An arrow seems to approach Tybold as she was casting her spell.

Watch out!!
He rushed between the white mage and the arrow, guiding his shield to the front to block the projectile.

Albert, his sword drawn, winces slightly at the sound of the scream, unable to see what happened as he keeps his eyes on the way the party came, his sword glinting in the light as he watches alertly, backing up closer to the nearest party member, tightening the circle a little as he grits his teeth.

What happened?

Delilah cries, wide-eyed

Someone died! *she says, clinging to Dave’s back all the tighter*

Well make rounds, between each round, you may only make 1 action (defending others and just speech doesnt count as an action), then I will update with the results and you may post again.

I’ll post the results of the last actions, and then get the round started.)

Albert holds formation, the warrior in a defensive position, eyes scanning his portion of the battlefield for any sign of hostile creatures, the experienced warrior not making the mistake of trying to watch the battlefield for his capable companions as well.

Delilah continues to cower behind Dave, not used to the sight of death and not knowing what to do. At Dave’s words, she nods dumbly and stumbles over behind Albert, trembling visibly.

She staggers as the light flashes through the forest, not prepared she rubs her eyes and squints. Her claws are still at the ready, but her vision is diminished at the moment. She backs herself to Lord Makar.

I need you to help be my eyes. That flash was less then ideal for me. I hope everyone else can see better, since I cannot. I’ll try to listen for the assailants, but if the battle gets too loud…

He then notices a second fireball headed toward Hannibal.

*Shit! I can’t be everywhere at once!*

Well… it seems like you’ve blown our cover. Nevertheless, you’re still doomed.

Get the mage!

He shouts. The rest of the bandits rush forwards, there appear to be around 40 remaining.

I will not kill…

Tybold, true to the vows of a white mage could not bring herself to murder. It wasn’t right… But that didn’t mean she couldn’t fight. She held her index finger close to her covered lips, as she whispered an incantation. Suddenly, a pillar of light struck down upon five of the bandits, with a power that would knock them out cold unless they managed to resist.

Tybold June 24, 2010, 2:21 AM EST.

(Assuming that the fireball doesn’t fry me…)

Hannibal moves back in formation to protect the casters.

He aims his crossbow at the Bandit Boss and trains for a killing blow. He pulls the trigger and braces for recoil.

Nothing happens.

“This…was not in my calculations”

He ducks into more concealing cover and begins to unjam the crossbow
