After seeing the Shadow Dragon, Icarus is terrified. He approaches slowly, his shield ready in case of attack.

(Being defended. I’ll do nothing this round.)

Dave follows closely behind Icarus and his shield, a little surprised by the size of this foe.

Sticking to the cover of nearby boulders, attempts to fire off another electric arrow aiming for one of the eyes.

(Is finding cover considered an action then? If so that will be my first move.)

Lady Lieselotte: Just as she was arriving the river, the dragon’s flame hit her directly from behind, pushing her forward into the river, and taking Makar with her. Had the river not been there…

(The RNG didn’t like you much this time… I can say the ‘clever action bonus’ saved you, as the dice landed EXACTLY on the dice requirement for death.)

Lord Makar: The fire only directly hit Lieselotte. However, him being nearby, only suffers from minor burns, and is also thrown to the river as Lieselotte was grabbing his hand.

Sir Icarus: He readied his shield. (Post)

Carter: Hides. (Post)

Dave: Closely follows behind Icarus. (Post)

Sean: Being hidden behind a lot of trees, it would have required a godly precision to actually hit the dragon. The arrow misses completely.

Carter will scan the area for allies. If he finds Makar and Lieselotte, he will hurry to their aid.

Carter June 25, 2010, 12:51 AM EST.

Comment ID #49224

Makar hugged Lieselotte tightly to prevent the undertow from taking her away and swins diagonally to the opositive side, trying to arrive the river bank.
(Let me explain “why diagonally?”: As the Chariot once told the Fool, if you fight an undertow directly, you’re simply going to stay in the same place ‘till you get tired and drow. If stead you contour it’s movements, which is swimming diagonally, you save yourself. )

Alright, boys and girls, this here’s not gonna be easy like yesterday’s ambush. Be tactical and careful. Any rash acts will get everyone killed.

Hannibal gets to cover and waits for a good opportunity to attack.

((BTW: do the enemies of the SAG have any elemental weaknesses? Myself and any casters would benefit from such knowledge.))

Hannibal June 25, 2010, 12:54 AM EST.

Comment ID #49226

The fireball knocking them into the deep waters, she struggles to swim. The heavy weight of the fully armored Lord Makar, and the burns she suffers weaken her rendering her helpless in the waters.

Lady Lieselotte June 25, 2010, 12:54 AM EST.

Comment ID #49227

(@Hannibal: No elemental weaknesses like that, but if you attack a fire monster with a water spell, you do get the ‘clever action bonus’.)

Battle Log June 25, 2010, 12:57 AM EST.

Facing towards the river, the dragon breathes in, with the intention of throwing its flames directly to the water where Makar is swimming.

(How ‘bout ice? I’ve got Fire and Ice. Ice is like water, just colder. So would that be clever enough for a handy bonus on this thing?)

Hannibal June 25, 2010, 12:58 AM EST.

Comment ID #49230

Never was a perfect shot….The Sol Blade has a mind of its’ own, though I doubt fire would do much against that thing anyway…I don’t know any water spells…If someone soaked it in water, the lightnings effect would be drastically amplified….

Anyone know any water spells?

Appearing from almost no where, the black Mage begins to form a large ball of dark energy. His aim is not at the dragon, but rather the path the dragon’s breath will take. He seems to be intending to intercept the flames with his attack

Kriegsherr, noticing the two diving into such a deep river, takes the rock off his head and lobs it over the dragon’s head, hitting a boulder on the side of the dragon opposite to himself. He then jumps off the large boulder and crouches in case the dragon directs it’s rage his way.
(note: when I say boulder I mean the extremely large ones you usually find while hiking, where you can stand behind them and have more than three feet from the side of your body to the end of the boulder)

Delilah hears the rush of the gout of flames from the river and freezes, realizing that is where her friends are headed. She slowly begins to make her way through the trees, hiding behind them, walking at a snail’s pace, trying to keep herself hidden as she tries to see what is going on.

(nugh… I’m in no condition to write tonight. Just miserable. Sorry. Will be better tomorrow no worries. Auto-Lily will focus on protective Buffs for everybody. Fire-protection and the like. Unless of course the Dragon goes air-born in which case it’ll be a De-buff to rob it of its flight…’spirits of the wind leave it’s wings’ or something like that. Preferably when it -isn’t- right above her of course! Rakral, Titantum dragon, and Maverik are free to control the character for tonight if they see fit)

Knowing that a head-on rush attack won’t do jack shit to something of that size, the paladin waits for an opportunity to strike. Meanwhile, he protects the barbarian with his shield.

(Yeah, I’m biding my time. Note that I haven’t designated any spells to my character; he can, however, use light-based attacks with his sword, including “sword beams”. However, due to his training, he is not very skilled with ranged attacks. This means that although these “sword beams” can be a valuable asset, his aim needs improvement. Just throwing it out there. Also, this is a round-two reaction, in case I’m ninja’d.)

Carter: Finds the dragon, but fails to notice Lieselotte and Makar swimming in the river.

Lord Makar: CRITICAL SUCCESS! Swimming as fast as he can, he reaches the edge in no time, giving him a great opening to counterattack the dragon as it lowers it’s head to launch it’s flames.

Lady Lieselotte: Saved by Lord Makar.

Shadow Dragon: Lowers it’s head, unleashing infernal flames into the river, making it boil and evaporate. Anybody who had been there would have been cooked alive.

Sean: CRITICAL SUCCESS! He succesfully changes equipment.

(Lol, what a waste of a critical roll)

Agamemnon: CRITICAL FAILURE! The ball of energy grows beyond proportion and Agamemnon loses control over it. It suddenly blows up directly infront of him, the impact is so strong, it instantly desmantles his body, reminding everyone how ephemeral their lives are. The body parts scatter around the place, covering it in red.

Agamemnon’s soul curses Lady Lieselotte.

Kriegsherr: The dragon is too busy with Lieselotte and Makar. It doesn’t notice Kriegsherr’s actions or even his presence.

Delilah: The dragon fails to notice her as well. She locates Makar and Lieselotte at the other side of the river.

Sir Icarus: Waits. (Post)

Dave: Waits. (Post)

Card universe: The devil and The empress react to Agamemnon’s death. The chariot reacts to Makar’s Critical.

Two main scenarios.

- If I was near Agamemnon when he exploded, I waste my turn disgusted by the sight.

- If not, I search the area for people not present (Delilah and others) and scavenge the area around for makeshift weapons, in that order.

After making sure Lieselotte was safe, LordMakar jumped as high as he could, getting above the dragon’s head, and dives with the sword prepared to pierce the dragon right between his eyes and the shield ready for the worst.

Lord Makar June 25, 2010, 2:20 AM EST.

Delilah spies the pair in the river, and is about to cheer when she sees a huge explosion and throws herself over some roots in response, not knowing that the mage had managed to incinerate himself. As she throws herself over the roots, she accidentally collides with Carter just as he finds her, bringing the jester down with her in the cover, squealing a little before quieting herself.

Someone is blowing people up! *she whimpers in wide-eyed horror*

Seeing the dragon distracted on Lord Makar and Lieselott, Dave charges the dragons hind leg and swings his axe with great strength towards it’s hamstring attempting to hinder its movement.

Dave the Barbarian June 25, 2010, 2:23 AM EST.

She stays behind the cover Lord Makar left her in, her burns severe enough to leave her out of action for the rest of the fight. She winces as she reaches behind her and feels the seared flesh.

Wiping blood off his face.

I’m glad I never wandered any further into Black magic.

Uses his keen Fox eyesight to spy any weakpoints.

Comment ID #49266

No, you idiot!! You’re making yourself a target!

He yells this to Lord Makar as he is jumping. Meanwhile, Icarus sees the knight’s blunder as the perfect distraction. He launches a sword beam at the dragon’s stomach, hoping to hit a weak spot in the process.

Sir Icarus June 25, 2010, 2:24 AM EST.

Comment ID #49272

(I’m taking advantage of the dragon’s open spot to counter, that’s all. By the way, if the attack be a success and the dragon tries to throw me away from his head, I’ll take the next round holding myself to the sword, piercing even deeper.)

Lord Makar June 25, 2010, 2:40 AM EST.

(That was in-character, it was a worthy risk in my opinion.)

Carter: Disgusted (Post)

Kriegsherr: Remains hidden behind the rock.

Lord Makar: The sword pierces the dragon’s head, and while it damages it considerably, it’s still very alive. The dragon roars, and moving it’s head, and tries to knock Makar down.

Delilah: Panic! (Post)

Dave: Succesfully hits the dragon’s leg, the strenght sufficient to do harm to it, but not enough to cripple it.

Lady Lieselotte: Is in pain. (Post)

Sean: No apparent weakpoints in sight, however, notices that Dave’s hit removed some of its scales, its skin should be softer there now.

Sir Icarus: He fails to launch a well aimed shot, and hits the dragon’s horn. The beam bounces back to Icarus, harming him.

Makar places his shield behind his cape, it’s usual resting place, and hold the sword tight with both hands, trying to make the blade go even deeper into the dragon’s head, keeping himself close to it, trying to don’t be reached by the dragon’s claws. (If the dragon actually can reach it’s head.)

Lord Makar June 25, 2010, 2:52 AM EST.

Comment ID #49280

Knowing the dragon is distracted on Lord Makar, Dave will swing again at the same less armored part of the dragons hamstring of the dragon still attempting to cripple it. Dave is now cautious of the dragons foot, making sure to not get knocked down or worse, crushed

Dave the Barbarian June 25, 2010, 2:53 AM EST.

Comment ID #49281

Ouch!! Bad move!

He clutches his leg where the beam hit, kneeling down and guarding himself with his shield since he can’t walk for a while.

(It didn’t say where it harmed me, so I worked with it.)

Prepares to shoot a Lightning strike in hopes of using Lord Makar’s sword as a lightning rod directly into the dragon’s brain.

Lord Makar, jump and I’ll conduct the lightning through your sword into it’s skull!

“Shh!” Carter puts his finger over his lips. “There’s… a DRAGON IN HERE!!!” He wimpered. “You must help us fight!” He was fully aware of his lack of usefulness, but insisted nonetheless.

He was too distracted trying to keep himself on the dragon’s head that he couldn’t hear Sean.
