pulls out a map of the area

“What is our direction of destination I might ask? Depending on the way we may have options of towns that could provide these services.”

( aha! I’m sitting having lunch so I can post! Anyways i figured he’d have a map, and really I didn’t want to make up towns and such without authority. Yay for being vague!”

(By the way… remember I said I was going to make a comic version of this roleplay? Better I get going untill we proceed, right?)

(Okay, fine.)
Hum… maybe it will be better to wait everyone get up. I’m not sure, but I guess it’s for the best to everyone get up before we get going with our journey.
Makar lights up the campfire once more and leave the scale he was holding somewhere nearby. He walk near Lieselotte, wondering if he should wake her up now.

We wouldn’t want your ‘friend’ to be left alone now would we?
Go see how she’s doing if you really want to.

Icarus looks around for someone to converse with, but he is not well enough acquainted with anyone to make a decision. For now, he resumes his training, focusing heavily on improving his aim and his light-based sword skills.

A little bit of both actually, Makar and I are old friends from before he found the Sword of Light and became famous. We used go on adventures together, regularly taking out bandits harassing the citizens, finding stolen property, or any number of other odd jobs. I came on this particular adventure because I wanted a good fight and to help out Makar once again. And seeing as how Reinhild openly assaulted the king, this seemed like a really good fight to me. Also I wanted to protect Delilah. Makar and I knew her from when we were young adventurers and she has always been kind to us, I would do anything to protect her.

Well, like I said last time I’m here because of the potential war Reinhild could spark….After losing my friends and Luna, I’ve been wandering around as a Rogue…I honestly have no connection with anyone here as far as I know. Then again, I’ve helped quite a number of people, so it’s possible I have worked with someone here before…I did feel sympathy for Reinhild’s situation, but after killing our comrades in such a merciless fashion I know there is no other choice than to destroy her…

What’s your story then?

Albert eyes widen and he retracts a bit form Dave
So you’ve…
Know Delilah for a while?
That would explain why she always hides behind you when we’re all in trouble.

You’re a lucky man you know that?
I’ve been admiring Delilah the second I first met her.
That bastard Agamemnon tried to attack her but I stepped in and stopped him.
spits on the ground. I’m gald he’s dead to be honest. But since then I saw her go back to you and Makar.
I wish I could find a way to admit I have feeling for her but she seems so distracted by the rest of you I don’t think I’d have a chance.

Turns to Sean
Oh my storys nothing really.
Ever since Lord Makar got the blade a lot of people got jealous and by the end of a single day I’d gotten enough bounty’s to set myself for life.
But I declined then all.
I thought someone so important didn’t deserve that fate but I also though he could of been my chance to quit being a simple mercenary and fianlly make something of the family name.
Of course the celebration was to crowded and the wine was…
*ahem* a little to strong.
So I didn’t have the chance to talk to him but when I saw you leave I thought it would maybe it would be a some kind of quest I could join. That and I saw Delilah with you and thought it would be a good chance to spend more time with her.

Dave looks away towards Delilah and begins to speak.

Look you seem like a guy who would do the right thing for her, all I’m going to say is that she’s never really had a man to care for her before, although I believe she admires you. She is just used to being around me and Makar for protection. All you have to do is just sweep her off her feet and show her that you’ll be there for her.

He turns back to Albert.

Thats just my thoughts on it though.

Without an answer from Hannibal, Carter turns away from him and walks off, scoffing to himself. On his way, he finds the sword Hannibal had before stealing his weapon and decides to loot that instead (my excuse for finding a weapon).

“Carter needs help…” he stared at his pitiful armor, worried about his skills - or lack thereof. Swallowing his pride, he approaches Makar and bows.

“Makar, help me fight so I can help Lucy.”

Delilah makes a cute mewing noise as she slowly comes to, blinking the sleep out of her eyes and stretching. She looks around, trying to get her bearings. Her eyes flicker over Lord Makar falling asleep beside the beautiful vampire, turning away. She notices Dave, Sean, and Albert all sitting together by the fire and decides to walk over and join them, her blue dress swishing around her feet as she goes over and crouches carefully between Dave and the suddenly quiet Albert, yawning a little.

Hey. *she smiles at them cutely, then looks back and forth* I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt your conversation… I know how guys like to talk about things together. *her smile fades a little* But I just really wanted to talk with you. Its been tough, these last few days with Lord Makar. *she looks off in the direction of the dead dragon, then shudders a little at the memory* Three people dead… one of them I knew, too, even if he was… *bites her lip* him. Is it wrong that I feel worse because he died than because of the two people I didn’t know? *she shudders a little, hugging her knees* It almost didn’t seem real, before…

….No, it’s not wrong….Despite whatever grudges you had against the man, you knew him. People form bonds over time…You never had a chance to bond with the others and as a result your mind’s natural defenses used that as an excuse to ease the pain of the loss…You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself, there are far too many things in the world that no one understands…I’m saddened by the lost of our comrades too, but death is an inevitability…If we watch each other’s back and keep a positive outlook, we should be able to make it out of this alive.

Forces a smile.

However given the task at hand, it is likely that more will die.

Carter’s smile, unbeknownst to everyone else, turns into a frown for a split second. He marches off, away from the two cats. Eventually he finds the other group and approaches them, his eyes focused on Albert.

“Um…” he pauses, before asking a question which was long overdue. “Who are you guys?”

The paladin jumps a little at McCardell’s comment, having surprised him from behind.

Ah! Um, actually I obtained my status due to impulse and luck, not skill. That’s why I decided to join this journey, because I wanted to become stronger. I also had a natural affinity to light-based skills, so I tried to develop them.

He knows he’s downplaying his achievements a bit, but he really doesn’t think he deserves his status.

The dancer nods to Sean slowly, rubbing her arms absently.

That’s true, but… it still FEELS wrong, you know? Like, I should care just as much about everyone, but… if you died, I wouldn’t feel the same way as if Dave or Albert or Lord Makar did. *she closes her eyes, almost crying at the thought of her friends lying dead before her* But…

Her thought is interrupted by Carter’s approach and question. She tilts her head backwards, looking at him upside down before turning around to face him, resting her hands on the ground in a kneeling position.

Why, its my savior from the woods. *she winks at him, then smiles* You made me stand up, you know. I probably would have just sat there and hid otherwise. *she looks a little sad* You want to join us?

(I wasn’t going to bother with this, but now that there’s going to be such a long break in the actual plotline, do you guys mind if I semi-come back in? Let me explain what I mean:

Herald comes from a novel that I wrote (well half wrote) and in it one of the sword’s abilities is that it keeps a small part of its wielder’s soul when he moves on. It’s just enough that the swords have a sort of “collective consciousness” of all the people that have died while holding them; this consciousness can talk to anybody who is holding the swords.

Actually, Herald’s brother is in The Devil, while Herald would now be in The Angel if I did this. (Those are the names of the swords; I don’t think I ever mentioned it. Angel=Ice, Devil=Fire) which is why I had his last words be apologizing to his brother, he was holding The Devil when he died.

Honestly I wouldn’t be able to affect much, just talk to whoever has the swords (well specifically The Angel), which with Hebs being off for a while it seems like there may be quite a bit of talking going on.

If Hebs and/or Hannibal (since he’s currently holding them) or anybody else doesn’t really want me to do this I’m fine with that.)

Sunday savors the brief touch of Makar’s hand on her shoulder, before he goes over and sits next to Lieselotte. She sighs very softly, making her way over to the campfire and listens to the group talk. When finally there is a lul in the conversation, she speaks up.

“What does… What does any of you know of Lady Lieselotte?”

She asked in a genuine tone, her eyes forcing themselves to peel away from looking at the two seated under the tree.

Hannibal, a bit into his cups, and thus slurring just the tiniest bit, speaks up.

She’s a bloody monster. A creature of the night that feeds off of our life force. BUT, a bloody monster that your man has an odd affinity for, eh? Bah, I’m sure he means nothing by it. From what I’ve seen their bond is one of great friends and comrades.

Best that I sugarcoat it. Wouldn’t want to break the poor girl’s heart.

((And once Sunday’s done being jealous, I’ll throw in the whole I hear dead people thing.))

Dave tells her rather bluntly what he thinks.

She travels with Makar because he first person to treat her nicely. Everyone had treated her badly because she was a vampire, but then he came along and saved her from an angry mob and befriended her. She later returned the favor by saving him from the beast guarding the sword of light. I think that created a bond between them and I wouldn’t be shocked if they were secret lovers or somethin’ like that.

Dave takes a swig of beer.

Thats not your problem, Makar doesn’t prefer her over you because of her eternal youth, your problem is that you are not ambitious enough. You sit over here wishing he would love you instead of doing something about it. It’s up to you to change the direction of your life. If you do not work towards your goal, you can never see it come to fruition.
