Y… You!!

As Reinhild’s shadow fades away, the king recognizes the face.

She snarls and jumps in the air, clawing after the escaping fiend.
Get back here you coward!

As the barrier floats away, taking the assailant with it, a keen eye shows a weakness in the flux of the darkness, and a bolt is loosed.

Her Words ignored, or unnoticed among the constant attacks at the Shadowy villain Lilly just shook her head with a frown. She reached into her robe as she continued to move, pulling out an odd piece of paper with writing alien to those around her, the short prayer that came with is just as strange…

Spirits of the moon and sun, banish the shadow, and protect the worthy the paper giving the faintest of glow as she finally arrived at the stumbling princess giving her the faintest of smiles.

“… I think it’d be best if we got you out of here.” the Hedgehog helping the poor weak girl up to her feet.

Reinhild’s shadow has fully dissappeared, and puts on a hood to avoid anyone from seeing the face.

McCardell’s bolt hits Reinhild’s leg, causing some damage

Aargh! F*** you!

Quickly launches into the forest and manages to escape.

Reinhild June 23, 2010, 2:16 AM EST.

Hannibal yells in frustration as Reinhild retreats.

Coward! Come back down here and face me like a man!

Hannibal flings a sword at Reinhild’s form, which of course misses and ends up piercing the leg of a black cat who proceeds to scream obscenities at the top of his lungs.

Sunday accepts the aid of Lily and Makar. Though she wished to speak, Makar had left her presence before she could manage. Lily spoke, and the princess looked concerned. She knew the woman well, and trusted her jugement. However, she couldn’t just abandon everyone, could she?

“But the others…”

She protests weakly

Susanna opened her eyes, realizing there was no hope of materializing Marrion

Delilah!

She quickly turns her head to see the shivering Selkirk Rex, Ragamuffin mix

Are you alright?

Seeing the man who recognized him earlier joining late in the fight, Herald, forcing his body, walks over to him, and hopes no one will notice him in the confusion. He grabs Hannibal and whispers clearly

I don’t know who you are, but you had better keep the knowledge of who I am to yourself, understand me?

Then walks off out of sight and collapses

Delilah shrieks as she sees first the princess, then the vampire lady cast aside like they were nothing, then watches with horror as even Lord Makar is unable to hurt the shadowy being. She starts running towards the stage only once the wizard has vanished, ducking through the unsettled crowd, nimbly flicking between the press of bodies as she tries to get to her friends, a spot of red in a sea of blues and grays.

Susanna! They might be hurt! *the cat yells back at her friend*

Let’s go, Lieselotte! He said he left us with a zombie army and they might be outside.
He rushed outside, praying for anymore support. He glanced quickly at Sunday before leaving.

The bolt is swallowed by darkness but a single, dull shout is heard over the madness.

“A shame, but by my calculations the chances of the bolt even reaching the target were slim to begin with.”

He re-slings the crossbow and steps out of the shadows, into the chaos

(Dead? Alive? Seems like the wizard ran off without confirming the kill)

Makar notices no zombies anywhere near the kingdom, but thinks they may be on their way.

The guards are paralyzed in fear, allowing Dave to approach the King.

Sorry, chum. Acceptable casualties, eh?

“F*CK YOU. I’ll never walk again! I’ll have you killed, I know people that will make you wish you were-”

Hannibal walks away from the corpse, both swords in hand, one bloodied.

Just killed in the confusion of the attack…yes…

Makar stood there, on guard, ready for the zombie’s arrival.
If they’re going to appear, I must be ready for the fight.
He stared at Lieselotte and replied, concerned:

Seeing that the king is knocked out and unable to answer, Dave runs over to Lord Makar

I don’t think we can fight a whole zombie army Makar, maybe if we just found that evil shadow person we could stop the army.

Sunday tried desperately to protest, but alas, the hedgehog was right. She was injured, and in no condition to defend anyone. Herself included.

“Promise me Lily… Promise me you’ll do everything you can to help father…”

Her voice was strained as slight tears welled the the corners of her eyes. She wished to make sure the king was alive and well, but knew that she could not. If anything were to happen to both of them, it would be the end of the kingdom as she knew it.

The cat is unable to press her way through the crowd near the stage, and is shoved around by the movement of the masses. She tries shouting, to let her through, but no one seems to listen, and after a couple minutes, Susanna catches sight of her friend, trembling and crying in the crowd as she is shoved around, eventually stumbling out into the area around the stage, falling down, the crowd’s prior accomodation of the dancer lost in their near-panic. She hears her name being called from behind her, and her ears droop as she looks up at the stage hopelessly.

The Lord frowned and faced Dave.
If we leave now, the zombie army is going to kill everyone! Including… the Princess… now please stay here and help us.
He stood back on guard, ready for the “upcoming” fight. He replied to Lieselotte:
I guess you’re right in that point, but we don’t know enough to have a concrete answer…

Lord Makar June 23, 2010, 2:37 AM EST.

Comment ID #48126

Lily lets out a sad sigh as she stares into the young girl eyes “You have my word princess…but first… we need some order here.. forgive me for this.”

She looks up at the stumbling guards and can’t help but frown. Finally she yells out at them.

“Your Liege is wounded, and your people are in a panic! Here you stumble around like drunken fools! You call yourselves knights?! Help the King to his bed! Call the healers to the castle and prepare for another attack! That drunken fool Hannibal has shown more honor then the lot of your!”

The Hedgehog lets out a sigh of relief after that. “I hate having to raise my voice like that… come on now.. lets get you to the castle and see if we can make sense of all this…”

Lily June 23, 2010, 2:39 AM EST.

Comment ID #48127

As time passes, the people starts to calm down, and all those capable of fighting, go out to prepare for the zombie invasion, except a few knights, who remained with the king.

However, after several hours of waiting, no zombie comes within sight.

(And that’s why I moved it here)

The brave Makar was still in the same place, on guard, still worried if there was still an upcoming attack, but it was getting obvious it was a lie. He finally realised it.
I… I think… it was a bluff to buy him some time to run away…
He fell on his knees, releasing his sword and his shield.

Enraged, he started to punch the ground.
How could I be such fool?! Now he’s free to try it again… it’s all my fault!

Comment ID #48133

Stares dully into the woods, her keen eyes watching for movement. Nothing. There has been no signs of the armies Lord Makar. It would seem we have been played as fools. I suspected as much, in my many years I’ve seen only a scarce few beings able to summon an “army” of undead.

Lady Lieselotte June 23, 2010, 2:47 AM EST.

Upon paying closer attention, Lady Lieselotte is able to smell blood nearby, different to that of the wounded during the short fight against Reinhild.

Narrator Hebs June 23, 2010, 2:48 AM EST.

Comment ID #48135

The dancer takes a while to calm down, still obviously shaken, she watches as all her friends begin to prepare themselves, seemingly for war. She simply sits on the side of the stage, trying to keep in sight of Lord Makar, as that glowing sword of his makes her feel a bit safer, at least, her role in cheering everyone up forgotten as the king is carried off to his bedchambers, the corpse of the black cat left lying in the open for all to see. After a while, she finally gets the courage to help someone cover up the body. Until she hears the clank and thud from Makal dropping his weapons, she doesn’t realize how out of it she really was. She jerks, then stands up and walks over to Lord Makar.

Its not your fault… no one could do anything… *she shivers at the memory of everyone’s futile attacks, then looks over at Dave and smiles a little, wiping at her cheeks with a hankerchief* You’re right of course… he can’t really do that. *she starts at the thump of Makar’s fist against the ground*

Delilah June 23, 2010, 2:48 AM EST.

He got up, panting. He took back his shield and his sword and placing them on his back, under his cape.
We’re going to find his hideout.
With no more words, he asked for everyone’s atetion and announced his plan.
I need the support of all of you to succeed, so… who’s joining me?
Looking at Lieselotte, he asked what she felt.

Lord Makar June 23, 2010, 2:51 AM EST.

almost materializing behind Lord Markar, he begins to speak

It does seem obvious that there is no invasion if after the first hour we had no indications of an army moving in espicially with the amount of sentries the kingdom has. A warning would have been raised far in advance. He tricked us it appears.
