She glances to Lord Makar then back to the paladin.
I don’t think it would be wise of us to go out on our own to look at it. If you can convince Lord Makar to go, then I shall gladly lead.
She turns and takes a seat at the edge of the room away from everyone else.

The princess looks down the entire time, keeping her face obscured. If the King were to come to be aware of her presence, whether disguised or not, it would be increasingly hard for her to leave the castle. She decides that the best thing would be to find someone, anyone, to suggest that they leave before the trail gets cold. It would need to be someone who would allow her to escape, as she was terrible at hiding her voice

Lily…

The young girl aproached the hedgehog and whispered in her ear

“Lily… Please… I can’t get left behind. You have to convince father to let us leave now…”

But the king told us to sleep, to rest here. Wouldn’t it be better to wait until we can get more people to help us? Like Albert? *she blushes a little* I didn’t see him at the festival today…

Lily rubs her chin thoughtfully a slight bit of shame going over her face. Sitting in a wooden chair near the Kings bed. “…. I… do not remember the girl myself… but the mother. Yes I remember her….the poor woman was finally caught trying to steal from one of -my- buildings. Or my fathers buildings I should say…enough reason for me to attend….. ” she stops for a moment biting her lip “that’s why the voice sounded familiar….”

She continues to stare aware for a few moments more gathering her thoughts “… a poor girl with absolutely nothing does not become a wizard -that- powerful without help. Even with the time she’s had. There’s stronger forces at work here…”

(Editing now to include info from later posts heh)

Lord Makar listened carefully to the King’s words.
In pairs, you say?
He thought for a few seconds and got his conclusion.
Let’s vote. Who wants to sleep now and proceed tomorrow raise you left hand. Who want to go now shall raise your right hand.

Lord Makar June 23, 2010, 4:02 AM EST.

Comment ID #48229

She just crosses her arms and stares at him.
I really believe we should go now. That quite concerned me what I was tracking in the forest, and if we leave it unchecked, it could use the cover of night to attack the castle.

Raises left hand.

Even if we were to go now, it is highly unlikely that we would catch up with the culprit. More importantly we would need torches to see the path, which would make us easy targets for an ambush lying in wait. It’s best if we rest and regain our strength for tomorrow. However, I will follow you regardless of the decision.

frustrated by the lack of response from the king, he fades back into the crowd. A look to the side shows a familiar looking paladin standing awkwardly, trying to avoid eye contact. He moves up and whispers to the paladin.

“I suppose it is time for an answer, I don’t give my name out often and I try to be inconspicuous…”

Now hearing Lord Makar’s call for a vote he still looks at the paladin and raises his left hand

As the princess approached Lily glanced up out of the corner of her eye, listening to every word… not seeming at all surprised at the reveal of who she was.

She leaned back in her seat, giving the girl beside her a smile before looking to the king. “… so.. can you hear them Andrew? It seems many of these kids are eager to rush off to get themselves killed… a villain to face…they don’t have the patience to wait one night… hm.. well save a few.” She glances back at Sean and Sue before turning back to the king. “Who are we to say no? Oh.. don’t give me that look.. if you were twenty years younger you’d be doing the same…. still.. you all must be sure about this….”

That’s a good point, Lieselotte… I guess we really should go now…
After a few more seconds thinking, Makar took his decision.
… but it seems most of us are tired already… and we’re going to have trouble if we go in such conditions… maybe it’s for the best if we recover ourselves.
Makar had to face the facts: even himself was tired.

The hedgehog glanced around finding one by one the adventures were agreeing a good nights sleep would to them well (save one~) “Well then.. it seems patience has won out this time. Well that’s a surprise…but not a bad thing… at least that’s what my spine is telling me” She sat on up giving her back a creek again as she started to make her way out of the room, hands folded together in her robe.

Being sure to give the princess a whisper and a smile on the way out “Now.. lets get you out of that silly outfit before your father starts worrying hm?”

Delilah is torn as Lady Lieselotte storms out of the room, standing there indecisively as everyone begins walking off to their rooms. While she was scared earlier, she somehow wasn’t tired quite yet, and eventually, her decision is made for her as everyone files off to their respective rooms. The dancer sighs, then goes to find the frustrated vampire, her heels clicking against the stone floors as she searches for the blue-eyed one.

She comes to a stop on the castle ramparts, glancing angrily back at where she had stormed from before looking out at the forest.

Why I thought for sure Lord Makar would understand. He understood in the past, I guess it was too good to last.

Her gaze turns solemn as she watches the forest for movement, her thoughts still to Lord Makar.

I forget, not all are like me though. I suppose the events of the day could have been quite taxing, even for “mighty heroes”. He may need rest, I just wish we could have searched more.

Delilah spends several minutes wandering around the castle before finally thinking to look out onto the ramparts, peering out a window and spying a bit of white amongst the darkness. Stepping out into the night, her dress rattles quietly from the wind blowing against her, the sound of her shoes tapping out quietly as she approaches the Lady cautiously.

I would be sad if I had a fight with Lord Makar too, Lady. *she quietly from behind the vampire*

Delilah June 23, 2010, 5:08 AM EST.

She turns to look at the newcomer, clearing the look on her face to a blank state.

I’m not sad about a fight with that fool. He’s a hero, he obviously knows best, never mind my many years of expertise.

She looks over Delilah, assessing the girl in front of her.

You are a bold one, approaching a vampire by yourself, one who you’ve clearly seen infuriated moments before.

Delilah blinks at the woman’s gaze, then shakes her head.

I was just thinking about how I’d feel if I fought with hi… er, someone. *she looks out into the darkness, but without the vampire’s supernaturally enhanced vision, she can’t see much more than shapes and vague shadows* And I didn’t really think about it. You’re a friend of Lord Makar’s, you must be a good person. *she smiles at you* And brave too… I didn’t do anything when that wizard appears, even when all my friends did. *she fidgets with the beads on her dress, feeling rather awkward*

Delilah June 23, 2010, 5:26 AM EST.

Comment ID #48268

She squints her eyes as she gazes into the darkness, seeming to watch a particular spot

Well sometimes it’s better to take no action and keep yourself hidden. There’s a time to fight and a time to remain out of sight. As for Lord Makar, he’s a fool most of the time though he does have his moments, and I don’t care to go into details about why I travel with him.

Lady Lieselotte June 23, 2010, 5:36 AM EST.

Comment ID #48269

He was expecting for that when Lieselotte stormed off, taking another deep breath while rubbing his sore eyes.
This is starting to get complicated…
Makar walked away in search for her, successfully. When he managed to reach the two girls, he tapped Delilah’s shoulder, looking at her with a sad face and sat down besides Lieselotte.
I’m sorry for that. I really understand your point and agree with you, but the others are too tired to fight at their best. If they were going right now… surely someone would die.
He sighed and gave her a weak pat on the back.
Sorry for not being a good friend early… I should had supported you.
An while later, he got up, taking a decision.
If you want… we can go look a little by ourselves, no matter if I’m tired or not, if that makes you feel better… or we can try to get some sleep, anyway. I’ll sleep on the ground if you want…

I’m not particularly tired though at this point I don’t think only two will be safe to wander the woods.
She stares coolly at him before glancing to Delilah.
Unless you’d like to join us, it would be pointless to leave the castle. If not, you had both better rest up, I’m not tired, I can watch the woods from here.

Delilah smiled at the vampire in the darkness, a little sadly.

You’re so lucky to be able to travel with him. He’s such a kind man, but so brave… Its hard to believe he is such a fearsome warrior as well, someone who is so sweet to every…

Delilah nearly jumps out of her skin as the knight taps her on the shoulder, not sure if he heard her words, jerking suddenly and bumping into the knight, hoping her blush is hidden by the darkness.

Uhm… I’m sorry.

She squeaks, scooting away to make space for the night. After the knight’s first words, and as the silence grows longer, Delilah gets the feeling that maybe she isn’t wanted here. Just as she’s about to leave, however, the knight speaks up again, and she looks at him wide-eyed, amazed at his bravery, but not knowing what to say. Listening to the lady’s response, she nods her head

Yes! Tommorrow would be much safer, Lord Makar! Plus maybe then, Albert will hear of what happened today, and we can all set out together… It will be like something out of one of Susanna’s stories!

The dancer’s voice is giddy at this prospect, giggling a little, before she yawns

Mmph… maybe we should go to bed. *she glances over at the knight* Or does that sword of yours let you avoid that as well?

Lord Makar is still thoughtful about Lieselotte and forget to keep a phrase in his mind.
I’m really worried about her. She most be hating me right now. What should I do now?
When he realised he actually spoke it out loud, he tried to answer himself, somehow.
I mean… I know what I’m about to do now, that is go to sleep, he he he…
He looked to the other side and kept himself silent untill he reached his room.
Well… since I was supposed to share the room with Lieselotte, I’m going to have the entire bed for me…
The knight wished Delilah good night and entered the room.

Oh.. please tell me that foolish boy hasn’t added another plate.

Lily thought as she watched the two pass by, the dancer notably close to the knight as their way inside. She was sure they were just being friendly… she prayed they were just being friendly. The Hedgehog having been outside enjoying her less then healthy habit and an evening walk to ponder things. She gave them a nod, a smile, raised her pipe, and bid them goodnight. Only to mutter out with a shake of her head as they vanished

“I really need to have a talk with that boy…. or be ready to hand him a broom…” she chuckled to herself, glancing down the Ramparts to see the lone woman….though ‘thing’ would be a better word for it.

Lord Makar trusted her… so the rest of the court did the same…but given the Knights wisdom when it came to other things….the merchant queen had her doubts. Yes, yes, it was all kind and good to judge a person by their own merits…..but being a little cautious around the blood sucking undead seemed prudent.

The cat shakes her head at the knight.

I’m sure she doesn’t hate you! She just didn’t get her way, that’s all. I’m sure you made the right decision, and she sees it too, she just won’t say it.

Delilah blushes when they reach Lord Makal’s room, stepping away from him at his words about who his roommate is, taking it in rather another way.

I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have followed you so far. I hope I don’t make yo… the lady angry. Goodnight!

She curtsies quickly, then runs off, her footsteps fading rapidly from the knight’s hearing as she heads towards her own room with Susanna, beads clicking together all the while.
