Bittersweet Candy Bowl

Mafia is normally a forum based game, in which several people play a game type designed by a moderator with a theme and generally, a unique gametype and theme. However, because i am going to assume none of you have played mafia before, we will be playing a newbie gametype. I will explain the roles that MAY show up in the game down the page a bit.

Normally, this would be played in a forum thread, but im looking into doing an experiment. This one will be done in Skype. In order to apply for the thread, type /in and your timezone. There are seven slots, because any more in a voice chat would be a clusterfuck. I will announce with a post when applications are no longer needed and a list of who is playing. You will need to add me (the moderator) in order to send you your night actions if you have an ability, and so i can send you your role. Also, it is very much preferred if you have voice chat.

The object of the game is not to be amongst the last standing, this is very much a game of the greater good for your team. You, and all your teammates (even dead ones) win if your win conditions are met. For town, thats killing all the mafia. For mafia, thats making sure the town cant kill you (mafia > or = to town).


RULES FOR PLAYING MAFIA IN SKYPE:

1. Don’t be a douchebag (all the time)

2. You may not mention or reference to any actual contact between the moderator and yourself in game.

3. The only thing you may use the game’s text chat for is to vote for someone’s lynching.

4. To vote, you simply type Vote: (insert name here) and to unvote, you simply but ‘un’ in front of vote.

5. To send night actions, simply tell me at night who you want to use your ability on.

6. The only people who can talk about the game outside the chat itself are the mafia. This is important to keep the town in the dark. THIS RULE IS IMPORTANT.


ROLES:

Vanilla Townie: Nothing special about you. You have no power beyond your vote to lynch.

Cop: Every night, you may investigate the alignment of one person you can do with this information what you will.

Doctor: Every night, you may protect one person.

Vigilante: Every night, you may kill off one person.

Mafia: You are mafia. You want to kill the town. You win when the number of you is equal to or greater than the number of townies alive.

NOT in, I have no skype, but I just have to say, I’ve never seen this game played with less than 10 people, is 7 really enough?

Well, considering newbie games (on forums) are almost ALWAYS played with seven people, yes.

Plus, i figure any more crammed into a voice chat would just be a mess.

i would love to join, but i don’t have skype, and it refuses to install and work, but i don’t mind. I’ve played similar games on camp outs with 20+ people, it’s super fun.

Unfortunately, im trying to see if i can get a game done completely on skype
