I think people are actually planning to do that, like a series with all the fancharacters or something. Ved should know about it.

I kind of wish people gathered together to make something actually good and interesting, like a visual novel game or animation series or whatever. The amount of words poured into that boring RP thing. Christ

I’d be really interested in working on a visual novel game on the writing level. It’s a hell of a mark to put on a resume even if it’s just a fan project. I have no idea who has the time or skill to put in the actual programming hours needed though. Granted, I’m sure there’s more than enough artists who would be interested in doing the character & background artwork for it.
So… I duno? Is there any interested for that? *Shrugs*
As for Agentwebdog’s idea, I guess I’d be interested in the project if you had more information on it? I duno. Looking at Tae’s post I wonder if there’s any point to it unless it’s a fan character free endeavor and really original.

I see this thread becoming another vehicle for the “I wish I could draw” / “I hate everyone who wishes they could draw” dialogue. But I approve the concept, yes I do.

“Dude, the rabbit hole goes farther than you think…” - Brock
That’s what she said.
In any case, what we really lack are good writers for scripts that would keep true to the natures of the characters.

I don’t see why you couldn’t clip out expressions from BCB comics. It is time-consuming work more than it is dependent on skill

I should know. I stole a huge number of clips from the archive to make MW:CA, so it’s certainly possible. Did take a while, but as a community project you could shrink that considerably.
As for the difficulty of programming, there are already tools for it. In a previous thread Souppy mentioned making visual novel games with the Ren’Py system; it looks fairly easy to program in, once you know what you’re doing.

You know, I’d be interested in scripting a novel-based game. I’d also volunteer for programming, but right now the only language I know is Java, and I’m still kinda new to it, so yeah. ^_^’ If we’re using a simple language like Ren’Py, maybe I can take the time to learn it.
(Also character voice-overs would be cool. -demolished-).

Well, I’m still on hold cause of that script.
But I don’t mind if other people start organizing something like a visual novel game.

A novel based game would be fun too- Heck you could use the program Game Maker to do the programming. It’s all drag and drop commands. I’d voluneteer myself since I took a class on the program but unfortunately it doesn’t work on Macs, just PCs. The nice thing abotu game Maker is you don’t have to learn super programming. It’s literally drag and drop commands.
As for the comic idea itself, I simply meant that Taeshi would write a script (Or if she doesn’t want to, one of us) of a Bittersweet Candy Bowl Chapter (Cannon or non-cannon it’d be up to her)in which we all chose ONE page each to work on until there are no more pages. The project would not include fan characters, and could use any method wanted to create the pages, such as, as Suitcase said, cutting from old comics using MS paint, drawing your own, ect.
So there would be say
Page 1 Agentwebdog
Page 2 Whoever
Page 3 Blah blah whoever else
ect. and the scriptwriter would present us with our page of the script.
Head back to the forum index.

Anyone think it’d be a fun (Yet pain in the rear) idea to organize a Comic project with the community? Taeshi (Or if she’s to busy, someone else) could write a script, and a person could book a page to draw in their own style with their own habits (Manga tone, full color, Taeshi style ect). Especially for those of us who have a deviantart or post to other art websites, it’d also help spread the BCB word around just a little more.
What do you think?
