Makar cough blood as his back is slammed against the wall. He fell on his knees and got up with dificult a few seconds later.
Attacking it head on is not going to work… it can defend itself even without Reinhild to be it’s shield. He looked at Lieselotte slaiming her, a bit scared. Sometimes I wonder if she needs to do that almost all the time…
He rushed once more towards the ghost, but this time he stood in front of it, planning to counter-attack when it tries to hit him again.

As the jester hits the floor with a loud thunk, a huge surge of beads bounces up off the floor, bouncing off the ghost. While they are individually pretty small and light, as a group they are quite annoying, and while not a physical threat, as the dancer’s beads strike the ghost, the dancer stamps her foot four more times in rapid succession, and Carter jumps again at the signal, sending another surge of beads raining down on the ghost, bouncing off of it and clicking off the floor. The pair continue, Delilah hoping that Carter can keep his balance as the pair continue, trying to distract the ghost enough to create an opening.

The beads stick to the dark sticky substance that conforms the ghost’s core. It attempts to materialize a hand to crush Makar with, but the beads don’t allow it to do so. The core’s movility has also been reduced.
Comment ID #53205
Seeing his friends’ move as an opportunity to finish the ghost, Makar rushed towards the core and jumped, aiming the sword of light to hit right in the middle of it.
Comment ID #53206
The core attempts to move out of the way, but being covered in beads it just manages to move slightly, not enough to dodge Makar’s attack.
The ghost evaporates as soon as Makar’s sword pierces the core, leaving only a dark ball covered in beads.
Reinhild’s remains stop levitating and fall to the ground.

He landed with both feet when the ghost evaporated and turned to the dark sphere. He looked at the others.
I’m going to destroy this…
He prepared his sword for the final blow. On a quick movement, he pierced the sphere.

(HELL YEAH USELESS TEAM TO THE RESCUE)
“Wait, ah-” Carter’s yelp was interrupted when he jumped a bit too quickly and lost balance, falling to the ground with a rather hard thud. His body lied for a few seconds before he sat straight with blood running down his nose. “AAAAAAAWUGH!” His voice was heavily stuffed and he held his nose painfully, flailing his legs childishly. While he knew that she didn’t know how to heal, he looked to Delilah for help.

The dance is broken the moment the moment that the jester slips, the beads no longer under her control and skittering all over the floor, the ones which were in the air now raining down on the prone jester, thumping off his face and chest. The beads on the sphere begin to slowly roll off of it as her magic fades, and Delilah yells
I can’t keep it up by myself! Makar, NOW!

Once Makar pierced the sphere with his sword, a scream comes out of it, similar to that of a banshee. Rays of light gleams from within the sphere, and cracks start to spread on it, starting on the opening made by the sword.
Once the sphere cracks completely, it detonates, and the screaming ceases.

In the silence after the shriek, the only sound is the quiet clicking of the beads rolling across the floor. Delilah looks around the suddenly still room, then takes a step, her dress flapping seeming extremely loud to her ears in the quiet. Albert groans quietly, and the dancer runs over to her prone boyfriend, crouching next to the singed knight and giving him a hug as he tries to rise, still dazed.
Its over…
She says quietly
Its all over…

He looked at his sword, then at where he left his shield and slowly walked towards it, placing it on his back. He looked back at his friends, smiling.
We… made it… He said faintly, almost falling on his knees from the fatigue and the injuries, but he used the sword to keep himself on his feet.

She smiles, forgetting she is covered head to toe in blood and gore, she pulls Makar close and gives him a passionate kiss. She stares into his eyes after she pulls away, still smiling.
It’s over at last. I was terrified I would lose you, but it’s over, and here we are together. You were amazing Makar, and I have never been prouder to fight by your side.
She sighs happily, wrapping her tail around his and nuzzling her head into his chest.

Makar smiled, despise his wounds, tiredness and embarassment.
As we promised each other… we lived for the tomorrow… He smiled kindly and started to caress her head gently.

Delilah smiles in spite of herself at the sound of the jester’s flailing, though it is a little sad, and pulls out a bit of fabric, going over to daub at his nose before helping him up.
Its alright Carter… I’ve got it. Just tilt your head back…
Albert is still lying on his back on the floor, and Delilah leads Carter over next to him so she can tend to both of them. As she sees Lady Lieselotte and Lord Makar embrace, she grins delightedly. Albert manages to turn his head to the side and sees the pair, and smiles as best someone can with second degree burns.

“Thank you…” Carter sighed after Delilah had finished caring for him. His eyes slowly began to close. “I… helped,” Carter murmured before he fell flat on his back, snoring just loud enough to be noticeable.

Delilah giggles at Carter, shaking her head at the jester, then bending down, wrapping her mate’s arms around her shoulders, and helping him to his feet as he groans a little, leaning on her. As he rises, she nuzzles up under his chin, the shorter dancer supporting the knight.
Let’s go home…
She starts, but then stars as she hears that snore from the unconscious jester.
Can someone wake up Carter?
She gives him a nudge with her foot, chuckling quietly, then moving to help support Albert as he almost falls over on her, before she starts to lead the party back out into the daylight.

“Are we there yet…?” Carter turned his head and stood up, not quite knowing where they were. After a few seconds, Carter yawned, stretched his arms, and followed Delilah and Albert, humming in his head.

Well, that’s over.
He goes over to Reinhild’s remains and kneels by them.
*I’m sorry, this shouldn’t have ended this way. But I can say that I forgive you… for everything… Even… him… Despite everything, I forgive you. May you rest in peace.*
He says a silent prayer before rising once more, ready to head out and return to the castle.
Well, let’s get going, shall we?
(Nice ending, too bad I missed it. Also, no Reinhild is not responsible for the death of his brother. Do not get the wrong idea. She was involved, but in an odd way. This statement, however, does not relate to that, nor to any of the events written in the RP. There is a complicated backstory between these characters. Icarus did not realize “Reinhild” was who she was until this fight; she was obscured in numerous ways in her first appearance, thus he didn’t recognize her then either. More will come in the sequel (hopefully)

The battle against Reinhild is finally over.
Many lives were lost along the way, including that of the innocent child, Reinhild, who had been possessed by the spirit of a witch all along… as to how that spirit even entered her… the reason why her mother was executed for such a minor offense… and why the King knew so much about the child… perhaps we will never know.
Endings:
Makar and Lieselotte: As they come back to the kingdom, the King greets them. He laments the loss of his daughter Sunday, but feels honored that she died saving the life of the hero. The king opens his drawer, and takes out a ring, which used to belong to the king’s wife. He explains that he expected him to marry princess Sunday once he was back from his adventure, but that he can have the ring regardless, as that’s what Sunday would have wanted. Thanking him, Makar takes the ring, and proposes to Lady Lieselotte. After their marriage is celebrated, they travel together to faraway lands to continue their adventures, promising to return one day to the kingdom. They stop by Sunday’s grave, before finally leaving the kingdom’s grounds.
Delilah and Albert: The two of them gather before the king, and Albert hands him the letter that princess Sunday left him. Upon reading it, the king organizes a ceremony. The mercenary is now officially knighted, and known as Sir Albert. Once the ceremony is over, they both leave the palace, and go to Albert’s place for a well deserved rest. They eventually marry and live a happy life together.
Dave, Sir Icarus, Amy and Hannibal: With the threat of Reinhild gone, they return to the kingdom to continue with their everyday lives. They are recognized every now and then as the heroes who helped Lord Makar, but they’re pretty much unsung heroes.
McCardell: Not wishing to draw any attention for his heroic deeds, he dissappears into the shadows as he arrives the kingdom, continuing the lonely life he chose as an assassin.
Carter: Satisfied with his adventure, and having made many new friends, he decides to stay on this time, and picks the box labeled ‘Time masheen’ in order to destroy it. However, he trips as he was about to dispose of it, falling inside. The box takes him back to the year 2007.
Lily: She arrives before the king with Sunday’s body in her hands, and explains the situation that led to her death. The king listens and understands, and orders that her body is given a proper burial. He thanks Lily for bringing her to him. The news about the princess’s death travels fast around the kingdom, everyone mourns.
The end…
To the memory of Agamemnon, Plinius, Sunday, Sean, Herald, Sebastian… and Reinhild.

“WHEE!” Carter was fully motivated, jumping on demand to the rhythm of Delilah’s steps. He almost tripped on another bead as it rolled toward him, but he was able to keep his balance at the last second, giggling nervously. He timed the rhythm perfectly now, and was lost in the music he heard in his head.
