This is getting serious.

Mallow July 6, 2010, 4:02 PM EST.

Comment ID #55517

Serious, indeed. Generally, people are nicer on the forums, but wtf kinda flew off the handle from the start :x

Just to go with the actual thread, I’d have to say my favorite band is Dream Theatre, but my favorite song still remains “Chopin’s Ballade no.1 in g minor, op. 23.” Moonlight Sonata’s 3rd movement is a close second, though.

Just because it seems to fit, I should add that Tzvi Erez is my favorite pianist, with Wilhelm Kempff in second.

I still want Bowie to finish the Major Tom trilogy! Been too long now! >:(

Comment ID #55555

He’s already finished three parts if that’s what you mean: “Space Oddity,” “Ashes to Ashes,” and “Hallo Spaceboy.”

Well, I really can’t decide on a favorite band or song, but lately I’ve been listening to Queensrÿche a bit more often than the rest of the bands. Some of the variety I like listening to:

Another rainy night (Without you) - Queensrÿche

Nothing else matters - Metallica

My own worst enemy - Lit

Humanity - Scorpions

Title Buzz Buzz - The adventures of Duane and BrandO <- Not many people will get this one.

you guys and your fucking metallica

whf2 July 7, 2010, 1:52 AM EST.

Comment ID #55958

Meh-tallica. Their good songs per album ratio leaves something to be desired, but I’ll grant that they’re at least higher than AC/DC in that respect. When I buy an AC/DC album, I usually do it for a single song that makes the entire album worth it, and the opposite is true for Metallica in my experience. I buy the album and then find a song that makes the entire album worth it. Maybe it’s just one song, but it’s worth it to have bought the album.

That said, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax all getting up on one stage two weeks ago to play “Am I Evil?” has to be the greatest moment in metal history since Metallica teamed up with the San Francisco Orchestra for S&M.

And I still can’t listen to “Ashes to Ashes” often because I was in the middle of alcohol induced puking the night I bought it. You know how songs latch on to certain memories.

J. Vincero (Jerk) July 7, 2010, 3:04 AM EST.

i like megadeath and slayer a little bit but the whoe metal genre has become a complete fuckin parody of itself so tgsotfygdhuh

also that is the reason i cant listen to most beatles songs jerk
not the vomiting part just the associating bad memories with them part

Sad, but understandable. My song for my friend Jessie is “Faith” because it led to some funny jokes between me and her, but if I listened to it right now I’d cry.

Pathetique, we’re very similar with our music taste, at least from your post - everything you mentioned is high on my list also. Beethoven’s 3rd mvt of Moonlight Sonata is just furious; absolutely one of my favourite piano pieces. Speaking of 3rd movements, Brahms’ 3rd symphony, 3rd mvt is heart-wrenchingly beautiful:

Currently, my favourite song is Debussy’s “Bruyeres”, which is very fun to play:

King Crimson is usually my favorite band but I’ve been on a big kick of The Police lately. I don’t know what my favorite song is because I like too many and most of my favorites are instrumentals so they’re not technically songs anyway.

My favorite band would be a toss up between Styx, Queen, and Men At Work. Yeah, I’m stuck in the 80’s.

As for my favorite song however, that honor belongs to Mad World. The original Tears for Fears version, not that sorry excuse for a downer that Jules puked up.
