Alright, just wanting to know what the other readers are like. So here’s the list:
Liberal or Conservative or Independent?:
Why:
Gay Marriage/Civil Unions:
Why:
Abortion/Pro-life vs Pro-Choice:
Why:
Marijuana: Legal or not?

For me it’s:
Liberal
Because I find that spending money can sometimes make money >.>
Yes for Gay CUs, since those religious nutjobs won’t be too upset and they can keep their “marriage” (And if somebodies against this… just need to bring up: Seperation of Church and State :P)
Pro-Choice…. because its a choice…..
Marijuana: Legal + Tax for 21+, lower deficit and help us off our ass :D

If you can think of things to add to the list, feel free :D

Liberal
Yes, because I’m not a religious whack job.
Pro Choice because it isn’t murder.
Legal, was originally outlawed because of a racist movement against african and mexican individuals. Totally mess’d.

Neither

Because I like spending other peoples’ money.
Gay Marriage Yes: Because gays should have to suffer just as much as the rest of us.
No-Choice: Because coathanger jokes are hilarious.
Marijuana: is retarded but no less so than alcohol. Prohibition yes!

I’m conservative because I like people who work hard for what they have. For example, I love Vegeta because he is like a conservative/republican. He has worked hard for what he has. Goku, on the other hand is like a liberal/democrat. His abilities were basically handed to him. Much like people on welfare.
Gay marriage is against God’s word and should not be tolerated. I personally have nothing against it, it’s just that God hates it.
Abortion is wrong. Those babies are humans too! How would you feel if you were just born and then died! Instead of getting rid of your child and robbing it of the great life it’s sure to have, you should be forced to take care of it and let it starve over time because you are an 18 year old girl who smokes meth and dropped out of school at 14. Every human is precious and these babies must be forced to suffer existence just as everyone else has. Amen/ God Bless.
Weed should not be legal because it is a highly addictive substance that is worse than alcohol. Everyone who smokes pot, or does any drug for that matter, is a complete idiot and a criminal and should be locked up along with other people of their stature, such as serial killers, rapists, and black people.

Liberal (Labour here)
Because they brought the social welfare state, I hate Margaret Thatcher and the current prime minister seems dodgy.

Gays should be allowed to marry whomever they want.
It was fully legalised back home a few days ago anyhow. And legal-ish in the UK soon to dogged by the Parliament here.

Abortion, fine by me.
Here the people are Catholic only when shouting IRA and F*** the Brits unless they save their pregnant daughters of the life of misery of their forefathers of course.

Marijuana
Legal back home, soon to be legal in the UK and the ROI parliament will be dogging the decision there after. So it’s only a matter of time.

I have an affinity for Lesbians. Not just in porn but generally find them intriguing. Not to the just “hot” level (because this place is full of ugly fat posers) but sowt about them does grab my interest. In fact when I do have kids (three decades from now) if I have a daughter chances are she will be lesbian. Dunno why really but it seems like an almost certainty.

Snooths, I really hope you’re just pretending to be so intolerant and closed-minded.

Independent

Gay marriage is okay by me. Who am I, or some being that no one can be completely sure exists, to judge who should be allowed to share legal ownership over anything. Some people stray from the norm. Who cares. For all we know, it could have something to do with their DNA.

Abortion should be legal. If you know you don’t have the means to care for a child, and you got pregnant, you shouldn’t be forced to torture the child and yourself by birthing it. For stupid people (druggies, gangstas, and other people of that nature), I honestly believe abortion should be encouraged.

Marajuana should only be legal for medicinal purposes. It has some use in a hospital, but besides that, it’s just stupid. If potheads get put in jail, they may think twice about doing it again, or to get help.

Snooths is the resident troll, he used to go by the name whf. You get used to him and when you do, he does give a good chuckle every now and then.

What I do have to say it’s that (although I don’t believe you are doing it on purpose) your view on marijuana is as narrow minded as the comments you criticize snooths for. Not talking from a recreational point of view, there are approximately 37,000 other uses for marijuana. Why only stick to one?

Pronkat July 18, 2010, 9:20 PM EST.

Comment ID #60897

Pathetique, I am not pretending to be anything. You throw around the terms intolerant and closed-minded as if you know what you’re talking about. However, it is YOU that is intolerant, intolerant to the truth THAT IS. You are so closed-minded, you not only actually believe gay people can marry, but you also think they’re born gay, or it’s in their DNA. Wrong! Gay people CHOOSE to be gay so they can have an excuse to rape children and go against God. Back in America’s glory days, these faggots would have been lynched. But as this nation steps further and further away from the truth, our definition of the truth becomes twisted and diluted. We have lost touch with God. What do you think George Washigton would have said about this? Hmm??

However I do agree with one point you made, potheads need to go to jail to try and get help. That makes complete sense doesn’t it? Maybe once they go to jail and get fucked by all the black people there, maybe they’ll think twice before they “smoke a fat one”. If they don’t, who knows how many boxes of oreos they will eat?
Furthermore, think of how mellow the nation will be, if pot became legal! We cannot tolerate this mellowness if we want ANYTHING to get done. If Jesus was high when he saved us all, do you think he would have saved us? No, he wouldn’t have. He would have sat around drawing and giggling at his toes. For the benefit of mankind, we need to get these poor bastards help before they smoke too much weed and DIE. Actually, why waste taxpayers money on helping these useless wads of flesh? Just kill them all. In fact, pot shouldn’t even be used for medicinal purposes. If someone needs pot to “ease the pain”, they should just kill themselves to end the suffering.

@Pronkat: You are wrong, I am not trolling this time.

Liberal

Gay Marriage is fine with me; if two consenting adults want to share their lives together then I see no problem. The folks who shriek about how it’s destroying traditional marriage probably have pretty crappy marriages, or they’re in the closet.

I’m pro choice pretty much to spite the religious right here in America. They yammer on and on about how precious life is but don’t pay any mind when a Predator drone bombs an Afghani wedding. I also don’t like the government telling people what they can and can’t do to their bodies.

Marijuana used to be legal in the US before the temperance movement so I’m all for the legalization of it. The “War on Drugs” is nothing but a gigantic money sink that sends poor people to jail who are unlucky enough to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I don’t smoke myself, but I think people should have the right to, but I also want gladiator death matches so IDK.

TheNoun July 18, 2010, 9:58 PM EST.

Comment ID #60915

IF THE GOVERNMENT DID NOT TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO DO WITH THEIR BODIES, THEY WOULD KILL BABIES. DO YOU REALIZE HOW WRONG THAT IS!! None of you understand. But that is expected as the subject of possible judgment at the hands of Almighty God is one that a majority of persons in the “land of the free and the home of the brave” choose to avoid at all costs. Even those who claim to be “evangelical” seem to be quite nervous about the subject and rarely, if ever, go into details about it. Yet, quite a bit of space is devoted to the subject in the Bible — graphic details reveal what God has done in the past in His dealings with nations who chose to defy His laws — specific references indicate God’s anger being aroused when cultures of the past took a low and cheap approach to human life — especially when they destroyed children in the name of certain religious practices. The only difference between peoples of the past who destroyed their children and we in the U.S. of A. who destroy thousands of ours each week is that we don’t go through a religious ritual before the child is destroyed — you know, that child whom God is forming in the womb for a high and noble purpose! In fact, it appears that the guy (or gal) as the case may be doesn’t even utter a prayer such as, “Lord, please bless me as I destroy this child for whom you had a special plan!” These people disgust me beyond my emotional capacity, and I wish nothing but death upon them.

Pro gay marriage, really never understood why people are so focused in banning a certain group consenting adults from marrying. Voted against Propisition 8.
Pro-choice, I admit abortion unsettles me a little but it is a choice the mother has the right to make.
Really don’t care about marijuana one way or the other, I’ve never tried it but I don’t really think it needs to be banned. Give it the same regulations as alcohol or tobacco. I plan to vote for prop. 19 to legalize it in California.

What if God’s plan was for the child to die? I mean if God has a plan for everything then free will is an illusion and sin is a lie. If I go out and run over a Girl Scout troop tomorrow, I’ve done nothing wrong because it was in God’s plan that I mercilessly murdered them with my American made car.

Meh, Liberals and Conservatives both have valid points, but backing either one would require accepting too many faults as well. I’ll stick to my own twisted values.

Gay Marriage/Civil Unions:
Yes.
I could go into a whole long winded rant on this subject but I choose instead to NOT open up a personal avenue for future arguments. Needless to say, this is one of those major stepping stones that humanity has a whole will have to accept sooner or later.

If someone has a real desire to discuss this with me, let me know and I’ll provide you an e-mail address.

Pro-Choice
Why:
Seriously? Have you seen the world lately? Take a look at the news. How cruel would it be to bring an unplanned and likely unwanted child into it?

Marijuana: Legal or not?

Hoo boy, tough one. Marijuana is not nearly the damaging substance people make it out to be. A small bit of modern research can tell you that.
Does that mean it should be made legal?
Not by virtue of its relative harmlessness as compared to current cigarettes and booze. But as a means of bringing in more revenue via taxes, it wouldn’t be a bad move to legalize it.

Independent, seeing as subscibing to a party obliges one to support opposing agendas that propogate our self destructive system. (We’re talking about America here, right?)

Concerning marriage, it is pretty much a given that in the constitution that the government of the country I think we’re talking about is founded on there is a majority support of free will. If we’re just talking the original intentions of the Founding Fathers, then it would be totally reasonable to support anyone getting married to whoever. If we’re talking the national agenda of the country I think we’re talking about - the agenda that drives everything said country does - then it is really neither here nor there, considering gay marriage is irrelevant to the continuity of this nondescript country’s soveriegnty. If we’re just talking reason, a discussion in which religion should not be involved, it continues to make no difference.

But considering ‘marriage’ is a religious concept, and there is ‘supposed’ to be a Seperation of Church and State, we have an issue there as well, considering the State is taking religion into account for policy making when considering this whole issue.

Concerning abortion, I am totally pro-choice, simply because the most reasonable point of view does not favor saving every life because every life is worth whatever. The Earth is quickly heading down the road to the International Cluster Fuck of Unforseen Proportions, and overpopulation is at the root of many issues. I’m not suggesting that the odd few women getting abortions is going to solve our overpopulation problems, but it won’t hurt, either. And having seen the inside of a few state’s social services, God does not control how many children you have in his plan for making everything cool and awesome. That’s just a rationalization for how miserable you are and why you make decisions that hurt other people to gratify a sense of morality.

Concerning the legalization of marijuana, reason once again becomes the motivating factor in my political stance. It was fairly well proven through Prohibition that making a drug illegal only increases the problem: people need to go through more seedy channels to get the product, which involves crime, so crime rates go up. Illegalizing something just feeds the market for illegal goods. I’m not suggesting that we legalize everything, but marijuana is about as dangerous as cigarettes or alcohol in how it damages the body and affects the mental state, and yet neither of those are illegal.

And I could go on to produce some bullshit statistics about how much of the National Debt legalizing and taxing and regulating the sale and use of marijuana would do away with, but I think my point stands for itself.

*gasp for breath*

Hey… Isn’t this supposed to be a site about an unpretentious high school drama with cartoon animals? Whatever happened to that? Last I remember, I was using said comic to escape from the fucked up world I just spend however so long ranting about.
