Idiotic Adverts

Comment ID #61626

Since we’ve got the adverts around the place, I figure we might as well use them for humour purposes. I’ve been specifically amused by the Google text advert system, which apparently reads the page content, scans it for possible keywords, then delivers adverts that are almost, but not quite, entirely unlike the page content.

These range from the bizarre, linked by a thin strand of logic…
The Sweet Thread
Candy GO282
Free Delivery & Recycling At Dixons With Dixons Price Match Promise

…to the inappropriate…
Necrololi Molly Appreciation Thread
UK Christian Singles
Compare How Compatible You Are With Christian Singles In Your Area

…to the singularly appropriate:
Random Chat 6: Pika Edition
Bugoff Pest Control
Free Pest Advise & Survey, Response Within1 Hour, Call 08000431520 NOW

Anyone else seen some good ones? Here or, failing that, on other webcomics?

I don’t understand why Google ads are appearing. I guess Technorati Media (the ad company for the towers\rectangles) defer to them in certain cases. They are a little sad but hey at least they’re not generic ads about dating sites

BTW YAPPY OFFTOPIC BUT YOU SHOULD GET ON SKYPE I WANT TO CHAT

Skype? Sure! I’ve got some free time coming up.

What time (and timezone!) are you usually around? Or should I just pop in whenever and try?
