The first page I saw.
I was all “OMG FURRY PR0NZ”, and so I quickly canceled out the window.
I visited the BCB website later after seeing an ad for it on some boring webcomic I was reading. So I gave it another go.
And then I read the archive. The ENTIRE archive. Now I’m hooked like a fish.

Same as 5ony, except the “OMG FURRY PR0NZ” part. The first think i think was “Meh, another webcomic who fancies sex to get more watches”
I was wrong.
VERY wrong.

Souppy thought the making out pages would attract readers because they’d be all “Wait what the hell is going on? *clicks back a few times* oh I should probably read this” and stuff. And I was all “NO SOUPPY IT WILL MAKE PEOPLE THINK IT’S A PORNY COMIC ;__;”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
oh well i still hooked you bastards ![]()

First page i saw
Well, there was my first page, and i saw it kinda interesting, so i went back to the first page.I started at 9 or 8 pm and i stopped reading the comic at 3 or 4 AM, even if i went to work next morning, i didn’t mind. The comic was so awesome that i didn’t care if i was sleepy all morning. A few days later, lucy and mike where at my cellphone as a wallpaper and at my pc’s desktop. Aaaaaand…my BCB mania started there

I was bored and drunk and clicked on the dateing sim ad so for about 20 minutes i was searching the damn site for the dating sim, eventualy i ended up in the archives and spent the whole night looking through them…..it was magical

I like looking through the archives of webcomics, and while looking through the Slightly Damned archive, I found a banner for this comic. So I clicked it and immediately went back to the first comic in the archives. I ended up reading through the BCB archives instead of the Slightly Damned Archive. It was funny and I like that.
Comment ID #65401
while reading through my many bookmarks to see if there were any updates, I found an ad on slightly damned, and the first one i saw was this page. Did not understand it one bit. so i went to the archive, ignored the thing telling me to go to the introduction page, and that was that. Now I’m addicted, DAMN YOU TAESHI!!!

Back and Forth and Another Shoulder popped everyone’s BCB cherry.
man i wonder if those who used to read BCB back in its DA days will come out of the woodworks, MANY OF YOU ARE LATE 2010 READERS.

Yep

Yeah… I just got into the whole webcomic thing late 2008. It was pretty accidental too. Still remember it like it was yesterday.

I don’t know how I found it. When I did, I stuck it into my bookmarks for a later read. Finally I started reading it. I went to the archives and started at page one. Sort of went like this
Chapter 1~11: This is pretty good.
Chapter 12~18: Omg, it has a plot now, this is getting better.
Chapter 19~56: More characters and the plot is getting better.
Chapter 57: Who the hell is Liam?

saw the ad for this site on a other website a few time before i decided to click on it
started to read it from the star and now it up there with my fav webcomics

This page was the first one I ever saw. I was all, “Huh, the panels look odd to me, but the drawings look great! And I guess this is worth checking out…” And then I went to the first page. And I was all, “WTF happened!? Oh well, I guess this means that the art got, like, really awesome along the way.”
and then I kept reading and fell in love with the characters and sent Taeshi an email about how much I loved the story and the characters and that BCB was now my favorite webcomic.
I was a high school sophomore at the time, I believe. I actually thought that Taeshi was a dude at first (-__-)

I saw the page where Lucy was at Paulo’s front door, right after her fight with Mike.
I was curious and backtracked to where Mike shows a pic of Sandy and Lucy reveals that she confessed her love to Mike to the girls.
From there I started reading form the beginning and was hooked.
FFFFFFFF- this is Ved.

I actually remember a long time ago coming across somethin BCB SOMEWEHERE, I cant remember if it was here, DA, or what, but I do remember seeing something, but I never actualy looked into it (I’m disappointed I didn’t now that I look back
)
Just recently I’ve been getting into webcomics again, and I’ve been looking ALLLLLl over for good ones. I voted for one of my fav, and started looking through the list of the top 50, and whadda ya know, BCB was there. It looked cool. I clicked on it.This was the page I came across. (At least I think it was
)
So I hit back to chapter one, and realized it was all so familiar, it took me until recently to figure out I HAD come across it before. And I am so glad I did come across it again. BCB is my number one favorite Webcomic out there.
On topic: I thought it was amazing right away.
LONG LIVE BCB

When I first clicked the ad on Slightly Damned, I was directed to the first page of Casting Call. Of course, I had no idea what was going on, so I started over.
My first impression THERE was “What the hell’s going on? What’s that small blobby thing? What’s it doing? Who’s Chirps? … Girl-kitty?”
XD I was completely baffled, but I kept reading. It eventually made sense.

i was looking on the Twokinds page, and saw the Abbey and Daisy ‘pay attention tards’ minicomic. XD
from that moment on, i was hooked like a Halibut. i read the entire series in two days and was ravenous for more. i now have my own fan character and frequently post on the forums.

except for climbing and fighting

@ravengal~that was my first reaction to the beginning as well XD

This was my BCB popping cherry And I was like, “Wtf? Where is all this romance that the ad promised?”
So I went to the intro page and read through all the past pages and was like, “OMFG best thing ever!!” In two days.

I’ve watched Taeshi’s DA account for about 5ish years. She was one of the first people I actually took interest in haha. I started by reading her comics about her and her friends and then she started uploading BCB stuff so I just followed along with it and ever since I’ve been hooked
. It’s been so long I can’t remember what my first comic was.
So basically my first impression was “Oh hey new comics lol and they’re cats ok!” I did not yet know the furry world existed so it was like reading a regular comic I guess. Thought they were funny. etcetc
Comment ID #65656
First page I saw (It’s neither Back and Forth, nor Another Shoulder)
…and I was like WTF? simpson’s references? and since I don’t like to judge a comic by only one page I looked through the archives, and clearly since I’m still here I liked it. Best webcomic I read now!
Oh and it was the FF cat banner that attracted me to it.
Comment ID #65666
Ummmm…… This was the first page I saw. Tho I quickly selected ‘First Chapter’ so I could read the comic through.
Lessee…. first impression: oh shit, I’m gonna be the only boy here, aren’t I? >_> NOPE! (I was happy when I saw you could cuss on the forum ^^)
I was drawn to this comic by the ‘Dating Sim’ ad. (Lucy: It’s not like I like you or anything. OPTIONS: 1. Offer to carry books, 2. Confess undying love for her, 3. Punch her. *Mike crying at the computer*[Ya know, that thing])

I don’t recall which page was the first I had seen of BCB, I started reading quite some time ago. I do recall though going through the archives to the first page, and being pleasantly surprised by it all. I don’t know what I had been expecting, but it was better then I had thought.
By the end of the first chapter, I honestly barely noticed the panel-by-panel changes in style to flow into the rest of the comic. A few chapters later I was all “Wait, didn’t this look better in the start?” I recall looking back to the first page, then to the page I was on and was all “How did this happen?”
Regardless, I continued on enjoying every page watching the characters and the art grow. For me, one of the best perks is seeing all the older art and how it progressively changed bit by bit. For someone who had started drawing only a few months before it made me happy to see how with practice that could happen.
My first-impressions were more on the art then the story because of this, but I love the story more then the art today ^_^

First page of Simple Pleasures was my first exposure.
I thought to myself, “this seems cute, I think I’ll read it.”
57 chapters later I still have no regrets.

I just thought, “BITCH IS FUCKING CRAZY!” than I just kept reading. Than I hit the latest page. I was mad. I had to wait now.
Comment ID #65752
I saved it because I thought I might want to read it, but I didn’t click the link again for a month BECAUSE I was reading the Sluggy Freelance archives for the first time. I delayed a little longer because it didn’t look like something I wanted to read necessarily. But then I started to read it and I didn’t go to sleep until I was done.
I also broke up with my girlfriend around that time. (We got back together last week.)

I found a link from Slightly Damned. My first impression was something along the lines of “this looks stupid” and I left without a second thought. Found it again by accidently clicking on an ad (again from Slightly Damned) was bored and decided to read a few pages from the start. Needless to say it grew on me…I don’t really remember the first page I saw but I remember the page I was on after reading through every chapter http://www.bittersweetcandybowl.com/c54/p9.html (when Taeshi officially opened the forums)

@ Taeshi: Thank you. I’d be waving a flag too if her doctors would stop telling her that her organs are shutting down and that she’s not going to live to see next year. Only reason we broke up in the first place was because I thought I was dragging her down, but I’m going to make sure that if she has to die she won’t die alone.

Well, I landed on this page
http://www.bittersweetcandybowl.com/c55/p11.html
So I thought it was a pron art-type comic, and that I had luckily missed the sex scene. But then I went back to the first comics, and got hooked on how much I’m related to Michael :/

This is my first page,
http://www.bittersweetcandybowl.com/c54/p10.html
Oh oh there’s no ad that made me get into this comic. I usually search for random stuff on the internet, what I remember is I searched for “cat” “bittersweet and candy” or something.I didn’t know it was also on TWC. How popular is Bittersweet Candy Bowl now heh? Anyway, how I got into this comic is ah.. Sue’s cute face
Comment ID #66021
Well. My first page, since everybody seems to post them, was Page 8 of “To the Top”. I went: “Wait…. what?” Then I looked back at the “New Reader!” page, went “Eh. I’ll just read chapter one.” Then Chapter two. Then three. Then four. Then suddenly it was 3 AM and I went “ARGH PLZ MORE PAGEZ!!!!”
Comment ID #66022
First page I saw was page 1 of back and forth. I was all, wait, this cat (Paulo) isn’t the one next to that cat (Lucy) in the ad! (the four panel couples ad). I had assumed they were dating or something cause of how they were acting.
I was highly confused and read it all cause I have a bad habit of just clicking on a comic and reading all of it..

I clicked some link from Dueling Analogs or something similiar, I think it was the first panel of the now on going chapter about Sandy’s everyday life, chapter 58.
But I decided that I didn’t understood anything so I headed to the begginning. Then 24 hours later I had read every single page…. almost in tears… ;_; (Actually, I was crying in some chapters).
Great job! Keep it up. Now I only have to wait for each page… =/
Comment ID #73570
Actually my friend had this page http://www.bittersweetcandybowl.com/c53/p9.html open on their computer and, while I hate spoilers, I was intrigued and wanted to know how these two characters got into that situation. So I went to the start and read all you’ve got so far in a couple of days.
At first I thought the art was simple and not always consistent, but that didn’t bug me. I found the characters likeable and the expressions really great. And of course there’s some nostalgia that comes from reading something about highschool (not that I enjoyed my time in it… ). I’ve never read a anthropomorphic comic before, usually they don’t interest me, but this one and this style did.
Comment ID #73598
I knew Taeshi from a shared community and silently followed her comics from DeviantArt way back in the olden times. I thought her comics were neat and wanted to get to know her better, but I never had an excuse to talk to her. I actually made up McCain partially as an excuse to XD;
Comment ID #73600
First impression, hmmm great place to waste my time. Has not been proven wrong yet ![]()
Comment ID #73601
the creator of the all mighty McCain? we are only partially worthy to be in same forum!
Comment ID #73609
I joined around “to the top” so i was under the impression Sandy was the main. (Even though the link i clicked had mike and lucy on it.)
But i read the first chapter (The redone one) and was interested then went to the next and was like WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ART?!
It was only later i realized that the first chapter had been redrawn and redone so i was like oooooh k.
I read through tho and it quickly became one of my favorite webcomics.
Comment ID #73611
I appreciate that you like McCain, but I’m just an ordinary fan of the comic, really!
Comment ID #73735
No he’s special because he made the best fancharacter ever
Comment ID #73738
McCain, the character, rocks.
But that said, my first view of it the comic was like, a week ago.
*newbie blush*
But, in all reality, I had a post in mind, but now I can’t remember how I found the comic, or from where.
Fuuuuuu~ Amnesia. I am in an anime.
Head back to the forum index.

This was the first strip I came across upon clicking the ad, I didn’t really read it just to avoid plot spoilers but the commentary had me thinking Taeshi was a mom XD

So yeah, the first page was pretty “WTF?” to me at first because of “naked” Lucy. I quickly thought it’d be some kind of sex-fueled webcomic of some sort. Was also partially turned off when I clicked on the Quick Archive and saw just a few chapters, thinking it’d be too much of a quick read to be bothered with.
Turns out all these impressions were outright wrong
