Oh, Taeshi might rage at this.
I just found out that the Scott Pilgrim books were on her list.
Comment ID #66774
is she trying to get Halloween banned too?
Comment ID #66777
Oh yeah, she’s one of THOSE people.
“Halloween falls on a Sunday! BLASPHEMY!!!!!”

@calvin: comical relief

Oh hey look, I turned on the religion faucet again. *high fives Jerk*
In short, if this ladies want to have a war, I say give her HELL. Mount your own complaint, get your own petition. FIGHT her damn it! Censorship is one set towards the middle ages, we don’t need that shit again.
If this lady really has a problem why can’t she deal with it herself? Has she ever heard of, *Gasp!* Not reading books you don’t want to?! Oh god there is an idea. She’s just looking for a fight using hell fire and brimstone as her weapons.
Tell to shut her mouth cause last time I checked she wasn’t God’s personal secretary. She doesn’t decided what is right and wrong, we have freedom of choose for a reason LADY!
Feel free to yell this at her while you burn down her house Gabe~
Love, La Commie

Anyway….
Good point Commie, the First Amendment protects the right to free speech and the 10th Amendment protects all associate rights of random.
Her arg: ISH IMMORAL BLARG
You’re arg: First Amendment protects the right of the people and the press to write, read, print, and buy whatever the fuck they want. The library buys books for the people (that’s why it’s public), so by banning books in the library, you’re infringing on the right to read what I want. You’re also arguing that companies and authors can’t print/write what they want because of some such reason. This is also infringing on their First Amendment rights. Finally, if you don’t buy that shit, look to the 10th Amendment that says “Any rights not specifically enumerated are protected”. In other words, I have two Constitutional Amendments versus your one opinion on morality. I win.
She says: “I have the right to argue for the ban of whatever I want!”
You say: Your right is objective. My right is specifically declared by the First Amendment.
She says: “Bible!”
You say: 2nd Amendment (right to freedom of religion or somesuch)
Comment ID #66796
She needs to meet the second Amendment(Which is actually the right to bare arms) alright.
RRRRAAAAWWWWWWW!!!
Comment ID #66799
Oops. What’s the right to freedom of religion? Is it still #1??

Yay! Stupid people! *Uses a .50 cal Barret on the idiot…*
Comment ID #66835
Hey, now, Comi…I’m not ready to rule out that she’s God’s secretary. She may know something that we don’t. Something God only says to her.
In which case God is a passive-aggressive little bitch passing notes like that.
Didn’t go the direction you thought I’d go, did I?
Comment ID #66920
You quite did, in fact. ^_^
Oh well. Stupid people do tend to talk louder than the rest.
Comment ID #67660
@ilb thats because most of them are tone-deaf fuckheads who, like the topic says, like to ruin fun for everyone.
i think this person (the litteracy hater) is actully just misserable and wants to bring everyone else down to her level of happyness… which at this point is none at all. also, if she brings god into this, than just say that god gave people free will. that includes the freedom to write/read what ever the hell people want to read.
and if that doesn’t work, crucify her!
… too soon?
Comment ID #67667
Here’s something to think about: as stupid as it sounds, I think these people actually mean well sometimes. They see us doing things that they actually truly believe are harmful to our mortal souls and want to protect us in, granted, the most asinine, autistic way possible. One could almost feel sympathetic for them.
That’s not to say I do. I think they’re oozing sanctimonious fuckholes, but it bothers me that there might be some among them whose intentions, if not their methods, are completely pure. Understand what I’m saying?
Comment ID #67669
@jerk there’s a quote i’m trying to think of right now…
hmm. well, cant think of it so i give you this similar one: “out the mouth of the babe, comes the truth”
doesent apply too much but same general concept.
ps can anyone tell me who i just tryed to quote?
Comment ID #67672
I don’t know that one specifically, but I know one from Graham Greene I liked about the America’s intentions in the Vietnam War: “God save us always from the innocent and the good.”
Only variant I’ve heard of the quote you said went: “From the mouths of babes come two things: truth and teeth.” Conversely, I’m not ready to rule out that you might be quoting Bill Cosby’s “Kids say the darndest things.”
Comment ID #67680
i might be… never actully seen the show. i heard it somewhere, never had a use for it. but you see the point to it though.
Comment ID #67793
See, I wasn’t sure if you were actually asking or knew but were asking to see if we knew. Because I do not feel like googling right now.

Don’t mean to be late, but people like that woman mentioned in the first post are the worst. A lot of religious freaks too.
People like her find the stupidest things to point out and will stop at nothing to have it removed because she has the power to do so. She likes knowing that a little complaint will piss everyone and everyone off and inconvenience those around her. She likes thinking that she has authority just because the nudity, which could be artistic, pops up in several books. Basically, what she did was when she tried to go out and be heard, and was ignored, she annoyed them with her inane points until they took action to get her out of their hair. She is not quite stupid, but pathetic and her out of date mode of thinking needs to stop :/
Religious people, in sorts, can be F*CKING irritating. These people think that just because they accept salvation from their God, whoever that may be, ranging from the ‘God’ and to Obi wan Kenobi(Can’t spell that terribly well), they think that just because they accept being a powerful being’s b*tch that they are entitled to pick at people and assume they have a lower intelligence just because they don’t have the same enlightenment as them. These people I will call stupid. They pick at you for the stupidest things, and assume that just because you like another god or don’t like the powers that be that -you- are stupid. That -you- are going to hell and that -you- are going to go and shoot people for no reason. It is a little known fact by them that they’ve killed more people than Satan, and that they in fact will most likely go to hell, if it exists for forcing their ideals on people. ‘God’ is supposed to be an accepting being. If he modeled us after himself/herself, then this is how he should be. I don’t think God is some uptight asshole sitting on his little cloud throne shooting people into hell just because they don’t believe in him. I think that he would be better than that, as a person, and they should too.
Man I write too much. D:

Remindsw me of this. Fortunately enough people complained and showed their voices that he ended up winning that one.

these people are controlfreaks and feel fulfilled when they exercise what power they have over others.
my usual response to them is a destructive argument, acting like i don’t care what they do, and violence.
(i like violence, but unless i am talking about my training i just smacking them upside the head. )
there are better solutions, but this is who i am.
by the way, where could i ambush glenn beck?

Example of stupid people is happening as we speak/type,the fact that some people need another banner to tell them this chapter is a dream is just fucking sad

Hee. I thought the banner was frightfully entertaining. ^_^

I say burn her house down. She already f’in up everything else. What’s the worst that could happen. Just let it burn. She might get scared and leave the city or do more bad moral stupidiness. Which is ok, cause she a car you burn down too, and maybe a job to burn down or maybe a dog? Nah. Not the Dogs. Sorry David. Trust me. Burn the house, she will back off ^_~.

I loved that one of the books in the original post was “To kill a mocking bird”, a book that by all rights shouldn’t had been controversial this side of World War 2.
I’m not saying the other books should be on that list. LET’S BAN KNOWLEDGE GUYS.
Just, struck me as funny, like, NEXT THE WOMEN-FOLK MIGHT BE WEARIN’ PANTS OR GETTING JOBS.
Head back to the forum index.

@snooths
Yeah, which is why I said “want to punch” instead of “go and punch one of them”. I usually laugh off incredibly stupid stuff (like that preacher saying that Pokemon are the work of the devil) but they just go completely overboard. Picketing a family in mourning just isn’t funny.
