@ J. Vincero (Jerk): It’s a magnet powered car.

Also a woman made a steam powered vibrator she even machined all the part herself but I’m not posting that here.

@ kazimierz (kazi): No she hasn’t, before she or anyone else uses it they still have to work out a cooling system. I can’t imagine fitting a steam engine and a cooling system into a vibrator being easy.

ahhhh that woulda been hilarious…….
i once built a steam powered robot puncher thing.
(arm mounted)
it was too heavy with a good cooling system.

It means nothing of the sort! I simply couldn’t express my feeling of exasperation and distress at the idiocy of mankind.

Otherwise, life is good. You? ^_^

Nice.

Anyone see those plastic cutting knives? They are made to easily cut plastic cases.

Last time I saw one, it was in a plastic case. FAIL

Plastic knives, you mean?

ILB August 19, 2010, 1:52 PM EST.

Comment ID #78519

sort of.
there is a special type of plastic that is extra hard, and serrated properly it could easily slit someones throat.
also the same with wooden ones.

kazimierz (kazi) August 19, 2010, 2:20 PM EST.

Comment ID #78522

Nono, I remember what it was. It was a box cutter for cutting plastic packages. Last time I saw a box cutter in a store, it was in a plastic package, the packages that are impossible to open.

CrealStar August 19, 2010, 2:22 PM EST.

Comment ID #78525

It’s like the wire cutters I say once… A wire was holding them down so they wouldn’t be stolen.

MiwAuturu August 19, 2010, 2:24 PM EST.

Comment ID #78526

@kazi~if you have it anywhere in your packages, they’ll find it (maybe your pants too), and i don’t think that a plastic knife would scare anyone.

9-11
terrorists took control of planes by slitting the throat of an airline stewardess with cardboard cutters.
the plastic knife wouldnt turn up on the metal detector. unless they did a full body search, it could easily be smuggled aboard.

kazimierz (kazi) August 19, 2010, 2:27 PM EST.

Comment ID #78540

But they have new sensors now. I’m unsure as to what degree they’re employed, but apparently they can detect even plastic knives (by looking through your clothes only).

That’s actually quite depressing. :(

…..i carried onboard an airplane a wooden knife. it was made in egypt. the flight was from egypt.
this was after 9-11

kazimierz (kazi) August 19, 2010, 3:16 PM EST.

Comment ID #78580

yeah, on an Egyptian flight. The U.S. has some much security, you’d think you we’re flying with the president, and they x-ray your luggage, and they would see a knife shaped object…so unless you hide it in a book, or something, they would find it.

DritchJaul (Pyrotwister) August 19, 2010, 4:58 PM EST.

Comment ID #78589

it just has to be serrated. and it can be in a plastic case shaped to make it seem like something else….
the flight was an american airline to U.S
