Shocking

Comment ID #74713

So I saw the teaser trailer for next Bioshock game, Infinite. But let’s set this straight. A well established franchise, starting with critical aclaim, followed by a money grobbing sequel, has completely left its known setting and plot for something new and different. Never thought I’d see the day.

We need a System Shock 3. I think it’s a setting worth visiting again. (Bioshock is the spiritual successor to System Shock).

True, Jerk, true. Can’t say the number of times of heard about the eerie similarities of Bioshock and System Shock 2. It does help though that, to my understanding, it had apparently a lot of the same people working on it.

@ Moddy Auld: I think (not remember, mind you) that the same people worked on the two games.

The story, as I think it goes is that, these dudes were apart of Underwater Horse (or was that the company’s name?), then left to do their own thing for a little while, starting with System Shock 2, a sequel to System Shock which they had worked on as a part of their previous company. Blah blah, later they came up with the idea for Bioshock and the rest as they say is history.

Bioshock 2 was a disappointment in my eyes, and the new trailer just looks stupid.

for half life episode 3 (or half life three, whatever you people want to call it) are they making an entirely new physics engine? that would explain the wait, but if they aren’t, imma be pissed >(

@ JB: D: Aw, I thought it was pretty cool. :T But hey, that’s just me, really.

@ Pyro: Perhaps, perhaps. But it also “helps” that Left 4 Dead and other projects have been recieving some of their attention.
