So today I read “Hills Like White Elephants” for the first time since high school. I remember hating the whole short story, however, my opinion of it has since changed. I like how “hills like white elephants” can be interpreted as a metaphor for boobs. It’s more hilarious to me now that I am more mature. However, this thread is not about that short story, but more about actual elephants, so you can ignore everything I said up to this point. Here I go. I am about to give your your question/riddle thing. When my sister and I went to the zoo, we visited only one exhibit, the elephant exhibit. Before you enter the actual elephant cave, there are several displays sharing neat little tidbits about elephants, like, how often they sleep, how hard an elephant tusk is, and how heavy they are and whatnot. However, the actual elephant cage was closed for that day, so my sister and I saw no elephants. However, this was for a good reason. A new baby elephant was born that week, raising the total number of elephants in the entire zoo system (that is, the system run by the zoo’s corporate family) to twenty. This particular zoo only had five of them, though. How many elephants are in the three other sister zoos?
