J. Vincero brought up the idea of a space marine based fancharacter, and i suddenly joked about how awesome it would be if the toughest character in the comic (Lucy) were to go toe-to-toe with one of those giant superhuman warriors from the 41st millenium

Well, everyone but the IG are underpowered compared to fluff. Keep in mind, now, that a modern tank-caliber sabot can’t get through AV 14. That would put it at, what, strength 7?
Your average strength 7 shell, in 40k, has an AP of 4. Perhaps 3, if you’re lucky. You’d need maybe two tries. The sabot is meant for armour piercing, of course, but what modern tank auspex can target a moving Marine?
And rage has its limits, Chazfullmetal.

During the Vervunhive War, from the second Gaunt’s Ghosts series, a rather large nuclear weapon was used on a hive city. They didn’t have their shield umbrella up. Now, keep in mind that hives built for war are built of the same material as marine armour. It was obliterated.
Here’s a question for you, though. How are you going to get a nuke IN?

Let’s be frank here for a second: all of BCB fits the Space Marine definition of “xenos.” Unless they found something really cool planetside and had to make an excursion, Lucy and the Marine would never meet and his chapter would simply vitrify the entire fucking planet from orbit.

NOPE Terra cannot be destroyed. The Emperor resides there and can only be kept alive by the golden throne, which cannot be moved.

Hence, the destruction of Terra is not an option, for if they even tried, the inquisition would destory the marines with the gray knights

plus im sure the PDF (Planetary Defense Force) of Terra would have some form of defense grid capable of withstanding an exterminatus, in the event that a traitor chapter or legion somehow obtained the power to perform exterminatus. Also, not all marines would attack Terra as the Black Templars and Imperial Fists defend Terra as well

plus the Emperor would probably pwn the traitorous marines trying to exterminate him, using his awesome mind powa!!! ASTRONOMICAN FTW

We have ones that fly, that can (theoretically) have unlimited attacks, can be our heavy support, HQ choice, and as our infantry.

I concur, but even Necrons can’t stop Orks. once they land on a planet they release spores which grow into orks. the planet has to be destroyed to be rid of them.

Nids maybe, but it would be an even match, since the Orks were created along with the Eldar by the mysterious Ancient Ones (i read the codex) and they were designed to be the ultimate, unstoppable fighting force, hence their resisitance to chaos

Well, the whole concept started that I suggested more interesting fan characters and that it’d be really funny if someone went over the top and made a BCB Space Marine fan character. Cat, cat, dog, cat, GIGANTIC MOTHERFUCKING SPACE MARINE.
