Bittersweet Candy Bowl

I read a lot of comments about people changing their opinion of Paulo during this whole “daydream” sequence of events. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Paulo is a good guy. He makes an awesome comic relief, but I really don’t think he and Lucy would be a good match.

Personally, this whole dream sequence seems too good to be true for Paulo. I don’t think much of it can be taken without a pinch of salt. I think maybe, in Paulo’s mind, he thinks he would be nicer than he would be in reality.

Warning: spoilers ahead for those who have not read everything.

Here are the facts: Lucy came to him, he chose not to sleep with her, because he knew it one wrong. (Which was the right thing.)
He then goes and sleeps with two COMPLETELY random chicks. (Like for real, I didn’t even know who they were!) Even though he was trying to take care of Lucy too. (He obviously bit off more than he could chew.)

Honestly, I just can’t see Lucy and Paulo together.

Personally, I hope Sally breaks Mike’s heart, so he knows what it’s like, and then he and Lucy can skip into the sunset.

Anyways, thoughts on this?

PauloxLucy is the OTP.

My theory still exists.
Sandy finally visits as Confrontation Cat makes his return and in a bunch of events still too complicated to explain, Sandy gets cut from the group and Mike hooks up with Lucy once more.

There is no OTP, just various levels of denial.

I’m at a loss though, I really don’t think declaring something as OTP is fair to the comic. People should be open minded and be able to change as the comic does.

Anyway, back to LucyxPaulo. I don’t think his daydreaming could be quite this detailed but I think if he did he at least hit all the main points and the blanks would fill themselves in.

Let’s look at it this way: I like Lucy. I want her to be with a guy who treats her right and Mike has no tact whatsoever when it comes to Lucy-stuff.

Paulo? Okay, not a bright crayon, no, but when shit goes down he’s always the one who reacts appropriately to the situation (even if he caused it in some way or another). He’s stupid, but loving and gallant in his stupid-ass-kid kind of way. I could settle with that.

Alternate reality. It’s Taeshi day dreaming about this, not Paulo.

Still. On topic, I agree that Paulo should not have… done that with either Rachel or Jessica. But he wasn’t (it almost pains me to say this ^_^) her boyfriend, and although he ought to have known better there was no absolute obligation for him to become that. Technically, he was free - though I wish he was not.

Michael, however, is taken. He seems to be positively taken in by Sandy, and it would take something unexpected (like what you mention) to pull them apart.

I can clearly see Lucy and Paulo as a couple, but that might have something to do with my own hopes and wishes. I admit that. ^_^ Besides, Paulo is better at responding to what happens than Michael is.


But let me say this: What happens will happen. These are my thoughts and wants, but I might be entirely mistaken.

…and then Paulo wakes up next to Leonardo Dicaprio, and is convinced that LucyxPaulo is OTP.

If Veronica were more sadistic than she actually is, this dream would turn into a nightmare and become the official end of BCB.

But she’s not, so I’m not too worried.

I think Lucy and Mike just need to have sex. Maybe not with each other (as LucyxMike fans would scream for) to get the tension out.

And it wouldn’t “ruin” the sexual tension, merely leave it open to new ideas (ie after-effects/the day after/ect).

Actually, scratch that. Keep it going.

I think Mike’s ready for it, but I don’t think Lucy is. I don’t know how she’ll be ready for it but I think we’ll know when she gets there.

I think the subtext to this whole fantasy and the previous arc is that it gives us a good view of where the characters involved are in their lives from a maturity standpoint, if nothing else. You know what all that strikes me as? The calm before the storm. Hell yeah.

Err, not really… it’s pretty chilly in the bedroom of Lucy and Michael Scott.

We all know the end.

Rapecat will hurt Mike severely (or Green Eyes, as he says) Maybe some revelations (excuse the spelling errors, using my phone. :3 ) cross others minds? Hmm? Maybe a certain Khao Manee?

Now understand I’m not implying a relationship, but more of a “lets be friends again” situation. They need that.

But back on topic.
Paulo, in my head, will probably live freely until settling down in his late 20s. He just seems like that kind of guy. Probaby he’ll move to a bigger city as he gets older and lose some hometown connections he had.
Lucy seems like the person to never marry or have children. Maybe if she gotten pregnant or loved someone dearly, she might just do the opposite. But as far as I can tell, she seems to ride solo, although having someone to cling on.

Over all, I don’t see either hooking up with each other. Just me.

Idk, we’ll figure this shit when it happens. Stop worrying yourselves.

Worrying is the fun part, no? We need something to do between comics.
