Basically, there are two brothers who learn alchemy because their missing father was an alchemist. When their mom dies, they vow to bring her back using alchemy. However, despite their best efforts, they failed and Alphonse, the younger brother, was broken down completely by the alchemical reaction, whereas the older brother, Edward, lost his leg. They had created life, but it wasnt their mother: it was a monster which died shortly after it was created. Not willing to live without his brother, Edward drew alchemy circles on his body, willing to kill himself to save his brother. He bonded Alphonse’s soul to a suit of armour which cost Edward his arm. Alphonse, now a giant, hollow suit of armour, carried Edward to Winry, their best friend, and her grandmother: who made advanced prosthetic limbs from metal called Automail. They gave automail to Edward, who still hadnt given up on his quest to bring his mother back and restore their bodies to normal, using the one thing in the world capable of doing that: the Philosopher’s Stone

U guys have to watch it. its like a steampunk, bloody, more violent and deeper version of BCB if look at it abstractly.

I… I don’t see any correlation between bcb and FMA. Nor would I dream of classifying FMA as steampunk. Please consider what you have to say and where you say it before posting.

its correlation between BCB is incredibly abstract and complex. thats how my mind works, but i cant understand simple things. There are teen relations plus various other stories and quests that are undertaken. Consider Ed and Winry? Mike and Lucy perhaps.

i did consider. for a week. until i finally worked up the courage to ignore the inevitable thread derailers

Because you keep making threads about stuff discussed before, unrelated to the the comic but claiming it to not be so or otherwise idiotic in some manner. How about you try commenting first, get a swing of things then go back to making threads? It’ll save you from getting your bloody feelings “hurt”…

Oh grow a pair of balls will you? People will criticize you everywhere. Also it’s not taking advantage, it’s constructive criticism learn the difference. As for trial an error, stop making threads like a nutter and read the good ones first. I made one crap thread way back in the catalog, a lot of people said so. We left it and that was the end of that. No harm done.

and ime gonna post a fanstory too, but that idea was before this one. its not a stupid one, its about as dumb as the Time Cops story. and i wont care what u guys think about it either, im posting it eventually

Dude, time cops is awesome, if it’s as good as that then no one will complain… or at least no one should complain.

Just a tip though, fan characters don’t go over as well as they used to though. i don’t know if you plan on making any for it, but yeah.

its not terribly sci-fi, but its not bad. i have ideas that’ll mix it up a little as well, and ime refining a time cops chapter for the story (though it wont mess up the actual time cops story, so its no problem)

and yes, there are several fan characters, as the story centers around one in particular. however, the time cops chapter explains why the characters are what they are which is a huge boost. again, no messing with the real fanstory, i dont do that. Its basically about a strange new student and his various friends and family, but you’ll have to wait til its posted to find out more about it.

i refuse to say more, as i get carried away extremely easily. tip for future: tell me when i am.

…I liked FMA pretty well.

Then I found Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Both are good series, but I have to say, I think FMA:B beats out the original.

If i recall correct FMA brotherhoodis the right serie. The one that follow the manga.

It’s a variation on steampunk. See, steampunk, until the terminology improves, can refer to any situation where the elements of sci-fi or fantasy mix with pre-modern technology. It’s a function of technology right now, and it’s not an exclusive genre, it’s really an element AND a genre at the same time.

That said, Fullmetal Alchemist (and Brotherhood most of all) is incredible, it really is, but my heart will always belong to “Berserk.” NOT the anime.
