Just be yourself of course ^.^
Try to keep old loyal friends and try to make new ones as well…the obvious things of course :3
To me it’s always a challenge balancing work and play though…..but that is an important thing to have, balance.

Here’s some of the things I tried to follow:
-Try to get a feel for your teachers. Learn which ones are lenient and which are strict. This’ll help on planning on how to handle work loads.
-If you are in any honors or advance placement courses, don’t worry to much. The work is more by the pay off is usually worth it.
-If you have any classes that you feel are too easy or below you, don’t slack off in them, it’s not worth it.
-If any of the teachers or faculty are like my high school, ask for help if you have any problems. Most should be happy or at least willing to help.

My terible advice this time is: if you have no idea what anyone is saying, just say no. 55 percent of the time it works, 45 percent of the time people KNOW.
*punched*
…ow… or maybe you could just try not to get involved in much and stay low and dont get noticed too much (cuz then tha girlz get curious! ^o^)

Ah, school. The foil for free time. ^_^
But yes, listen to Fox. Be yourself. I cannot really add much to that, other than that you should not be afraid of talking to new people. If “yourself” includes being afraid of talking to new people, try fighting it. ^_^

the trick is to beat up the biggest guy you can find and……oh wait thats prison, meh same thing
Comment ID #87466
Youth imprisonment facilities? That is a bit harsh, dear. ^_^
Comment ID #87469
alright maybe it isnt but it sure feels like it when your young
Comment ID #87473
When you’re young, everything feels like a prison. It is never warranted. ^_^
Comment ID #87475
time moves at a slower pace from a younger persons perspective so the days always seem to drag on. might be what adds to the sense of confinment

not sure how different the Canadian institutions differ from the american versions but, i can offer you some Canadian advice that has worked for me the last two years: #1: find out which teachers like you. #2: exploit this. #3: repeat as necessary.

If your high school is anything like mine, well…I could give a few pointers.
- Always, always sleep before 12. The time may change according to your body preference. Some people in my school can sleep on 2 hours with no (perceivable) negative effects, while people like me have to sleep at least 8 hours to think straight. Also, having a dead line of sleep forces you to keep on schedule and stuff.
- I can’t help you too much on high school politics, as our school is very, very small, where every high school student knows every other high school student. But in this kind of system, I usually try to chat with other people. It does wonders whenever you need help on a specific subject and most of your close friends are also failing. But be genuine, don’t make friends just because you need help on homework.
- Which reminds me. Friendship relationships: two-way street. Be a good friend, but also know when to say no and stand firm to your beliefs. Some friends will try to exploit you if you always give/help them. Do know when you are helping your friends on a short-term or long-run. (Plagiarism is generally unacceptable. Of course, sometimes the teacher gives out ridiculous homework which doesn’t actually help you learn anything. In this case, I make an exception).
- In the end, you really have to find out what works for you as a high school student. If you have an aspiration in getting in to an art college, main thing to focus: portfolio. If it’s just general college education you want, focus on your school work. As people said before me, it’s all about balance, and I cannot agree more on that. Do make sure you call friends out for weekends once in a while to talk about life, art, philosophy, or to just walk around and enjoy not doing anything.
- Don’t eat alcohol filled chocolates in shady bars. If you do, don’t walk into an alley afterwards.
- Stop writing on the BCB forums if you have homework. Which reminds me, I should not reply anymore because I kind of need to finish my Gov homework.
Hope that helps though.

TIP: Find the strongest, meanest looking guy you can find and beat him unconscious on your first day. That way everyone knows you’re in charge and you get first pick of the bitches.

Well Draixen, the first day was kinda boring. Nothing special, but I got turned around once or twice. Really nothing to bad. I imeadiatly learned stuff in spanish class, so I’m kinda worn down. I stayed up a little late last night, thinking that I wouldent really learn stuff. (I normally never do on the first day.) so I was really tired before lunch. otherwise it was pertty uneventful.

Did i forget to mention that you might need pull an all-nighter sometimes? Cause you will, and trust me, THEY SUCK! I have to pull one tonight ‘cause i have 4 full classes (no lunch) tomorrow, and i got a LOT of homework to do. Plus all of those classes are advance! I’M NOT GONNA MAKE IT THIS YEAR XP
Comment ID #89247
Oh, comon, man up. In college they’ll have you do 100-paged readings and stuff. And they’ll tie you down with calculus and electric/magnetism labs and the set-up takes more than the actually data-taking and people don’t sleep and play around instead of paying back their sleep debts and stuff.
…from what I’ve heard. Yeah. I’m actually kinda glad I’m still a high school student, considering that the classes are still pretty small and the teachers very, very accessible.

Now in every school there is one hall you want to avoid, irs usually one that has been rendered useless by new additions to the school and more direct halls being added to get to them, this hall will typicly be found near shop classes or gyms, typicly it takes a bit of looking for to find and you wont even know your there untill you take a wrong corner or two while busy in converation, This is where the crack heads dwell. now its not uncommon to see some of the upperclass student here buying drugs and soliciting sexual favours but if you tell any one they wont belive you
avoid those halls

Well all I can say to all this is thanks again and sadly I won’t be talking to many of you for quite sometime…
you see, I got FAPed. which means we went over our allowable limit of information for the month. So all the Internet acsess I have is through the I phone’s safari… So don’t try to contact me through just about any means until the end of the month… So with that bit out of the way, I bid you all farewell until the end of this month. Goodbye. :,(
Comment ID #91394
Good luck on your high school escapades!
Comment ID #91518
Mhm. Good luck, and be seeing you. ^_^
Comment ID #91624
Wait, doesn’t FAP mea-…
wow.
Actually, that limit of information for the month would be useful in keeping your head in the homework pile. Look at me! No limit on internet access and I neglect all my calculus homework.
I blame the great community here.

I love thursdays, I have no class on friday… ever
in fact, i think the day I hate most is Sunday, because at that point i’ve worked three eight hour shifts over friday, saturday, and sunday, and I’m ready to go back to not wearing my work clothes, not standing, and actually doing something to further my career while simultaneously hanging out with all the nerdly kids at my school to talk about fun stuff.
Comment ID #92254
i hate sundays just because the dread of school is always at the back of my head.

It’s that time of year again (for me at least) and I’m going into high school. I’m not nervous, but I don’t want to make an ass of myself this time. Any pointers, tips, advise?
