Can you cook? Do you have any recipes?

Today I finally convinced my dad to help me make a giant marshmallow. I took pictures but the camera screwed up so I had to use the terrible iPhone camera.
Here it is:
Picture1
Picture2

So post recipes/pictures or something.

Golden rule of food: As long as all the ingredients are good, the result will also be good, no matter what the ingredients are. (For example, mini-pizzas in fondue.)

Buy a really nice, fat beefsteak tomato (the ones from hot houses are best).
Slice it into thick and fat slices (I usually only get 2 out of a tomato and then leave the ends for eating while I cook, lol).
Sit the two slices on the grill (use a propane one or else they’ll get charcoaly… yuck).
Once the one side is a little crispy on the top and has those black marks of goodness, flip them over and put colby jack shredded cheese, chopped pre-cooked bacon, chives, and a little more cheese to hold it all on top.
Toast one or two hamburger buns on the grill for a couple seconds, and by the time those are set, the tomatoes will be ready to be put in the sammich.
If you like spicy, put some chipotle or hot sauce on top and you’ve got your self a BCT: Bacon-cheese tomato… the perfect beef substitute.

Also try feta cheese and pepper!

@Draixen: Cooking with Draixen is cool dude xD.

Family (also northern Mexico region) recipe: Discada.

1) 250 gr Pork chopped in medium cubes
2) 250 gr Steak chopped in medium portions
3) 250 gr Bacon chopped in small portions
4) 1 grill sausage pack sliced in medium portions.
5) 100 gr Chopped mushroom
6) 2 sliced Onion
7) 2 sliced Tomatoes
8) Salt and pepper.

1) Grab a Wok (or a frying pan, i’m not expecting you have a Disc). Put the bacon in the wok and let it fry. Let all the wok be covered with the bacon’s natural grease. Don’t let overcook.

2) Once the wok is covered with the bacon, add the steak and let i cook.

3) When the steak is half cook, add the pork. Add salt and pepper at will.

4) Cook at medium fire to preserve the scent and the taste of the meat. Keep moving the meat.

5) When the meat is almost cooked, add the sliced sausage.

6) When the meat and the sausage are cooked, add the tomato, the mushroom and the onion. This is only to add more flavor and a bit of color to the mix. Keep moving because the heat will easily cook the tomato and the onion.

7) When the tomato is hot and very soft, the mushroom is a bit dark due to the juice of the meat, remove it from the fire.

8) Serve hot. Add Guacamole or hot sauce to add a bit more of flavor, you can eat it with Tortilla or bread.

9) Kiss the cook, and enjoy!

This is my family’s version. So, what do you think?

Our way to make that dish is to cook it on a Disk taken from a farm plow

And it’s prepared on charcoal, in other words, hot as hell. That’s because the flavor is great. And that’s the reason that you must kiss the cook, he was burning his hands for you. It’s the least you can do :)

I take huge pride in my mediocre cooking abilities.
Been feeding myself and a random assortment of people for years now.
I’m much better at baking, though. But I usually do pretty simply stuff, cupcakes and swiss rolls. And cakes. I bake the best damn chocolate cake in the world.

@HappehFace: If for some reason i go to your place (Or magically all the BCB forumers gather) i can make this dish.

And yeah…take a disk from a farm plow…it’s quite hard…and the process to clean the disc from all the paint and the rust…if you don’t clean the oxide from the disc…you can kill all the people…

Mh, I’ll try to describe how to cook one of my favorite food, if I say something dumb or really stupid please correct me so that I’ll be able to edit my post and make it easier to understand :asd:

Risotto alla milanese (Risotto with saffron)

You’ll need:
About 2 liter of bouillon
Half full soup dish (the deep one to make it clear) of rice (it should be enough for 3 people)
Butter
100 gram of Saffron
Parmesan

You’ll also need those tools:
A big pan, the one I use has a diameter of 24cm (9.46 inch if the converter is not wrong)
A dippet, the one I use has a diameter of about 10cm (3.94 inch), I wanted to specify the diameter since I don’t know if there are other dimension of them
A wooden spoon

First thing first: You have to do the bouillon… You’ll have to use it while it’s still hot so start to make it a bit earlier the time you want to start this whole thing.
Once it is done you’ll truly start to cook:
Take a bit of butter and make it melt in the pan, once it’s done add the rice, fry it untill it is gilded (I’ll try to make it clear since I’m not sure if I used the right term: the rice should take a golden color).
Now you’ll have to add 1 dippet of bouillon and have to wait untill it evaporate, then add a second dippet of bouillon and go on (be sure to amalgamate the rice sometimes to prevent to char it).
On the second dippet add the saffron, then continue to cook it adding when needed the bouillon untile the rice is cooked.
Put it in soup dishes and add some parmesan on it.

To make a tastier (and heavier) version of this dish you can add some more butter and parmesan when the rice is almost cooked, so that it will be more creamy.
