Anyone have any idea what’s Canon anymore?
I still think Lucy and Mike should end up together. I know he’s been a dick but Paulo has been…not good… for much longer. Don’t get me wrong I like Paulo, but not Paulo and Lucy together. AS for Sandy and Mike?
I. HATE. SANDY. SO. MUCH.
Those are my thoughts.
Anyone else?

It doesn’t appear to me that Lucy hates Mike at this point. She hasn’t shown any signs to that effect.

MikeXLucy is going nowhere, and likely won’t be going anywhere until Sandy is introduced as a more central character.

I love making fun of the fandom for being inconsistent. You guys READ the comic, right? I’d assume so, because you’re on the forums, and yet… judging by your posts, you haven’t read it.

1) Lucy does not hate Mike, she still loves him. See also: the entire comic, including chapters set in the future. The second incentive arc, for example. No, Lucy still loves Mike.

2) Mike and Lucy are not together right now, but are still friends. Who knows how it will end? Answer: Taeshi. And Suitcase. I strongly suspect that Mike x Lucy is the eventual ending of the comic; Mike x Sandy is unlikely for the simple reason that they got together too early in the comic to stay together, as that is the central tension of the comic.

I’d recommend before starting threads like this actually reading the comic

I don’t care anymore. I just try not to pay attention to whoever the canon pairings seem to support since Taysh is just trying to attach us to one to destroy our expectations later. She single-handedly has destroyed my ability to ship. :|

I apologize if I came off angry. Believe me, I’m not. What I mean is, I’m along for the ride regardless of what happens between characters. I feel more mature for it, if that makes any sense. And if it don’t, that’s because my eyes are killing me and I can’t think with any semblance of tact right now.

The teasing is hilarious, and I enjoy the comic even more for it.

On the contrary: I think you tease the fanbase just the right amount. It’s like you spare the time to play around with us so we never take anything too seriously, and that way we can accept whatever happens.

Let me put it this way: I come to the main page for the comic, I come to the forum for the teasing. Everything is just more fun that way.

I still stand by my belief that MikexLucy is a pretty terrible idea. It’s a relationship built on co-dependancy and misplaced emotions. Lucy really needs someone more like Paulo if she’s going to truely be happy.

Does that mean I think Mike has to end up with Sandy? Not nessesarily. Sure, I love the pairing. But there are other satisfactory ways to go. Lucy just doesn’t seem to be one of them.

Ever since the alt-story started I’ve been absolutely in love with the idea of Paulo x Lucy *see future fansexstory*

I mean, Mike turned into kinda a huge dick to her. I think things should (for flavor, not for hate!) turn around so that instead of everyone loving Mike, they start to kinda hate him for what he did to Lucy.

Lucy + Paulo, everyone pissed at Mike. Eventually Mike realizes what a dick he’s been, tries to get Lucy back, too late, but still manages to repair friendships *insert Tess-type forgiveness here*

Anyways. To be honest, this is the entire reason I’m reading BCB at all. A single relationship made or broken could spell drastic changes to other relationships among the group. Will Paulo actually be with Lucy? Will Mike make up for the broken relationship he has with Lucy? Where the hell is Tess? How will the chips finally fall in the end? Find out in the next episode of Drago-… I mean, Bittersweet Candy Bowl. *Cue credits and ending theme*

Relationships are, to be honest, very fragile. An ill-made remark/insult could inflict irreparable damages to even stronger bonds. Consistent insults in the right places can break a person down to tears, and, though we have some indications of how strong the relationship is, we do not know what circumstances may arise.

I doubt any of the ships will sink for real until the very end. Taeshi’s too much of a tease to permanently seal off a potential pairing at this point in the comic.

PauloxTess is pretty much over.

i mean i loved mikexlucy from the start but due to these recent chapters i have become more open minded to what people can think and feel…

*Ninja, I think your name is wrong, you should be sarcastic right now. If only for the simple fact it the entire reason for the forum is to discuss the comic and the turns it might take.

Sure, maybe the first hundred times. But this has been done to death. Call me a heartless idiot if you want, but I would much rather just let Taeshi tell the story. I don’t like people speculating about the ending of a movie while I’m watching it, and while I find speculation about a comic slight less irritating, it seems like a pointless waste of time to me. But I’m jaded by having listened to some of the earliest speculations and having found that the recent ones have not changed much.

Sandy isn’t a huge bitch, I vote sandy.

It would have been one thing if Lucy was willing to take a number and give the ONE PERSON who hasn’t overloaded mike’s life with romantic drama first dibs for at least one real date, but noooo, she got her kleenex on and cried her face off because Mike wanted more than a day to answer a question lucy had YEARS to ask. Let this be lesson: don’t treat good people who treat bad people good badly, or they’ll treat bad people badly. +1 internet to whoever understands where I’m coming from.

But *Ninja, you must keep in mind that many of those points are raised by newcomers. And when they aren’t, it’s normally by oldies commenting on what the new folks are saying. There’s nothing wrong with that (although we might need a constant “MikexLucy (???)” thread stickied to the top). ^_^

Every time I hear this theory, I always think “Christ. Do you guy’s think Sue is a huge bitch or something?” I’d say the play will be more centered on friendship, and be aimed at making Mike & Lucy become friends again, rather than lovers.

I’m inclined to think that will be the case as well. If Sandy becomes a main character, I think chances will be slim to none that Mike will ever become free for anyone else. Barring guilt, a breakup, or in Lucy’s case, a breakdown, Mike doesn’t really have a reason to go back.
Let’s look at the stats:
Sandy
Pro’s: Loving, supportive, friendly, gentle, pretty, rich, and completely dedicated.
Cons: Lives far away.

Lucy
Pro’s: Fiercely protective, pretty, usually albeit secretly loving.
Cons: Competitive, abusive, sometimes irrational, angry, will cling to someone else at the first sign of separation, high maintenance, usually unappreciative of small favors, has “kids” that are about as tolerable as having your hand shoved in a blender.

Sometimes, I really miss the old comics. I also sometimes wish Taysh were a simplistic writer that always went for the crowd-pleasing, feel-good solution that spoon-fed me trite crap.

This is some straight up “Flowers for Algernon” shit here. ;-; Don’t listen to me, I’m going through the MikexLucy fugue again. I know she does the right thing, but I still ache for those times when it seemed so damn clear-cut.

Well lets see at one point Lucy seemed determined to sink MikexLucy, and than of course Sandy appeared and an old childhood love was rekindled. Lucy became less stable and more attached to Mike as the comic dragged on and due to a number of events reversed her stance and emotionally declared her love for Mike. Sadly by this point Mike has deepened his own relationship with Sandy and now he seems determined to sink the whole MikexLucy ship. All so very dramatic.

I’m picking up strange vibes from the chapter 39 page 12. what FFCat has to say about mike, and chapter 41 page 1 is really suspicious, my guess is rodger is the jerk who bullied them in the ally that one night and wants revenge. and is using FFCat to get it, by the end ov the school year I expect Mike to break up with Sandy and go back to Lucy. at what cost…I’m not sure. rodger is ploting something mean.

I think they’re both in a transitory period, but I do think that ship has sailed so to speak.

Let’s be frank for a second: it’s high school. How many high school relationships survive the transition to college? I have it on good authority, very few. Why ship at all? It’s doomed. DOOMED.

I’m a fellow writer/animator for another Furry Web Comic, (not yet published[I’ll E-mail you about it if you’de like]) when on friday I discovered an ad for your comic on facebook. I took a look and was instantly sucked in to your little world of characters. I love every little page and chapter and I’m anxious to see where you’re going with your most resent chapter.
