Actually, this pairing is most definitely leaning toward canon. Though, I must ask, why does it make so little sense to you?

McCain is indeed a dog. I believe Jinx got the breed right so props.

The pairing would work fine because McCain would keep things strictly business in public, but maybe let Sue be a little more cuddly in private, and Sue would basically be cool with that.

She respects logic, and she isn’t a big “Oh my shining Knight! Whisk me away! Oh romantsu~~~” She’d be more quiet and maybe a little cuddly.

I imagine McCain and Sue have a really close friendship that borders on romance - since McCain is really logical and has a fixation with finding logical solutions to social / emotional problems, and Sue is kind of an activist of sorts who has the same problem-solving mindset with a more emotional bent, they have a lot to talk about and complement each other really well.

McCain probably has some kind of romantic attraction to Sue that’s subconscious, and he refuses to acknowledge / notice it - if anything threatened their relationship, he’d probably care more than he thinks he should, which would probably be really disturbing to his normally really analytical personality. If he was to admit his feelings, he’d probably show it in weird ways, which Sue would probably appreciate, but tease him about.

So, uh, that’s my take on Sue / McCain :|

Wasn’t talking bout you mate, there has been other people complaining before when I said that. So I was being sarcastic by using the term kiddies. Sue x McCain is so perfect! In so many ways!

McCain seems like the obvious shy type when it comes to relationships. Even though he is a smartie smart smart he looks like he could be a total dope when he’s with Sue. And Sue is just that outgoing type of person that would love it when and think it’s cute when McCain, as shy and serious as he is, does something affectionate.

I love the way we discuss this topic as opposed to how we discuss, say, Lucy and Michael or Paulo and Tess. It’s just a happy(-go-lucky) talk about how wonderful Sue and Alec would be together, instead of constant bickering over scarves or clues or hate or true feelings and all that jazz. ^_^
