I like to think that you actually believe that, but you’re just making a dumb joke. And to think that I actually thought that was you being perceptive for a moment…

So what are you actually trying to say?

Comment ID #96490

That I reversed man and woman, so I feel stupid, but my armpits smell nice at the same time.

Annnd if you take all that out of context, it looks really weird. Lol.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

New topic!

Railguns! How much longer do we have to wait until the public can get their hands on some.

Vanilla*Ninja September 27, 2010, 1:32 AM EST.

Comment ID #96497

yes it does.
were here for you if your gay. we’ll even help you break it to your parents.

if you build it yourself you already can.

kazimierz (kazi) September 27, 2010, 1:34 AM EST.

Comment ID #96508

Sure you can build one yourself, but you can’t achieve anything like lethal velocity without linking a couple dozen car batteries together. And that’s only for a single shot.

You can build a Gauss Rifle of your own that could theoretically reach lethal velocity without requiring as much energy, but that’s a different topic altogether.

Vanilla*Ninja September 27, 2010, 1:41 AM EST.

Comment ID #96516

Wait time? Probably indefinite. But * your a ninja, dosent your organization already have one?
And no I’m not gay…

Comment ID #96527

@*ninja: if you order some electro magnets from the black market, you can easily build one yourself… without using all to much power….

also, Giant Gauss rifle on the moon. your thoughts?

GoldenArbiter01 September 27, 2010, 1:53 AM EST.

Comment ID #96528

And then you edit with a post that shows you didn’t read my post carefully…

I said how long do we have to wait. I’m interested in knowing how long until I can expect my opponents to have them too.

Kinda obvious, once you think about it.

*FacePalm*(*Ninja) September 27, 2010, 1:53 AM EST.

Comment ID #96529

heh. Ninja has a valid point. While railguns can be built rather simplistically at home, it would be a non-lethal single shot, and cost quite a bit. Personally, I have to revisit electromagnets through the barrel, positively charged, propelling the negatively charged projectile through it. Power source and Power without enourmous weight and size, however, I haven’t firgured out quite yet. So, I’m guessing it will be a while yet. Sorry, you will have to wait for worthy opponents.

perhaps if i can send a shuttle to the moon i can use an atom bomb and simple targeting system to become a nuclear power.

kazimierz (kazi) September 27, 2010, 1:59 AM EST.

Comment ID #96542

Wouldn’t work. Given the distance from the Moon to Earth, it would be a simple matter to intercept anything you sent Earth’s way thousands of miles before it posed any danger.

You would be laughed at. That’s why Moon Lasers are effective but Moon-based missiles are not.

Vanilla*Ninja September 27, 2010, 2:04 AM EST.

Comment ID #96543

Insainly valid point. Sorry.

HB September 27, 2010, 2:06 AM EST.

Comment ID #96549

however, moon based 600 ton slugs fired at mack speeds would be really effective, since lasers have yet to be truly weaponized.

First, it’s Mach. Second, Mach in what medium?

HB September 27, 2010, 2:11 AM EST.

Comment ID #96554

1) It’s mach, not mack

2) Since it took the Apollo missions nearly three days to get to the Moon, I doubt that a 600 ton projectile would be any more useful. And it would do less damage upon impact, unless you got it up to about mach 15 or 16.

Vanilla*Ninja September 27, 2010, 2:12 AM EST.

Comment ID #96556

* are you Mach ing me??

HB September 27, 2010, 2:13 AM EST.

Comment ID #96557

whoops…. i meant mach… fingure moved to k rather than h…

also, the medium of space, which has no friction. therefor, the projectile would be fired from the magnetic railings, and go until it hit resitance (atmosphere of the earth)

a 20 meter iron sphere moving a 100 km per second, could make a 2 km (diametre) crater in the earth…

GoldenArbiter01 September 27, 2010, 2:13 AM EST.

Comment ID #96559

…fingure?

Mach refers to the speed of sound, which in space, is zero. I was just assuming speed of sound in earth’s atmosphere.

Witch isn’t that fast any way…

HB September 27, 2010, 2:16 AM EST.

Comment ID #96564

stfu ninja. im having a bad day for spelling…. also i meant mach as a reference speed (approximatly 1000 miles an hour) but your right… it would need to moving faster than that to be accurate.

GoldenArbiter01 September 27, 2010, 2:18 AM EST.

Comment ID #96567

340.29 m / s, to be kinda exact.

So to get to 100km/s you would need to send it at ~mach 294.

Hardly mach speeds. More like ridiculouslyovermach speeds.

Vanilla*Ninja September 27, 2010, 2:20 AM EST.

Comment ID #96568

Mach 1 is 786mph one thousand is like Mach 1.5

kazimierz (kazi) September 27, 2010, 2:24 AM EST.

Given the distances involved in space, combat either has to be extremely close range, or done with lasers.

Vanilla*Ninja September 27, 2010, 2:27 AM EST.

Comment ID #96581

why not simply send some sort of device to fire thousands of rocks at the earth and waste their money, while at the same time prompting them to further develop space programs.

kazimierz (kazi) September 27, 2010, 2:28 AM EST.

Comment ID #96584

Your best bet would be to smash a couple of big asteroids together so that their shattered remains head in our direction. It would take an awful long time to get to the asteroid belt, though, and a long time for the rocks to get to earth.

You guys may have killed yourselves off by the time they arrive.

Vanilla*Ninja September 27, 2010, 2:31 AM EST.

Comment ID #96587

one of my new plans-send many moon rock firing devices at cities all over the earth, so the space program will be further developed.

kazimierz (kazi) September 27, 2010, 2:34 AM EST.

Comment ID #96591

Why would you send the devices at the cities? Wouldn’t you want to send the rocks instead?
