Bittersweet Candy Bowl

It’s one of my favorite shows on TV, and I was watching it the other day when I realized how it kinda resembles BCB. Only if you’ve ever watched the show will you understand this.

The 6 characters on Friends are almost identical to the 6 characters in BCB:

Mike — Ross (Both nice, intelligent guys)

Lucy — Rachel (Except Rachel is a LOT nicer)

Paulo — Joey (They are both a bit perverted but can have their moments where they can be true friends)

Chandler — Abbey

Monica — Daisy

Pheobe — David (They are both the comic reliefs of the show/comic, but can sometimes have their own story arcs)



The relationships are almost identical also.

MikexLucy — RossxRachel
AbbeyxDaisy — ChandlerxMonica

It’s almost exactly like the show. And I was even watching the episode where Joey (Paulo) tells Rachel (Lucy) that he loves her, knowing that Ross (Mike) would get mad at him if he told her, and I was all like “WHOA this is just like the new BCB storyarc lol”

I hope I didn’t confuse you with what I just said. I just think it’s weird.

Joey got a terrible spin-off show.

Paulo should get a terrible spin-off comic.

I could never finish a show of friends, was too boring.

It’s a comedy sitcom. A GOOD one. Plays on TBS and KLA5.

I remember when that show ended…many tears.

But I see what you’re saying! And since I’ve been making gratuitous amounts of BCB crossovers…I MIGHT just sketch this out. If I don’t butcher it, of course.

So basically the analogy breaks down to “there’s six characters, two relationships and lots of angst.” This is just awful.

I liked that show. Ahhh….The memories. But yep. I can see what you’re saying. Someone should really make a video to the Friends’ themesong. I mean, if Evangelion could get one, why not Bittersweet Candybowl?

“How I Met Your Mother” is better than “Friends” *ducks*

That said, there are some bit of BCB character resemblance to those in HIMYM too.

meh, not a big fan of friends… cheers will always be my fav tv show.

Friends was awesome, but it got a bit soap opera-ish towards the end. Unfortunately, E4 is the only channel in the British Isles that plays the show. Only they play the first and last seasons only. Dunno why, but it’s quite annoying.

How I Met Your Mother is Friends for this generation of hopeless adults. All the characters are there and there’s very little change between ‘em. The series was awesome till season 5, now it’s mainly fillers with Barney.

Man, it is so bad! Is this what Americans watch for entertainment?
