Your Favorite Thing About BCB

Comment ID #99563

Why do you love BCB? What makes it better than other webcomics for you? The art? The characters? The drama? The writing?

For me, I think its the fact that I’ve actually learned to care about these characters to a degree. I like them all, though in varying amounts, and I want to see them work through their problems and love life. I want to know who ends up with who, and I want to see what their love lives are going to be like. I want to know more about them, oddly enough.

The writing is good - there is so much tension that I am drawn into the story. All the characters are portrayed realistically in accordance with their personalities, so I think it is very… believable. ^_^

Oh, and the drawings are a lot of fun.

Also, I should not forget to mention the community we have here. ^_^

The openness and availability of the author, Taeshi. That she isn’t an uptight elitist “artisté” who looks down upon her fandom, but instead actively interacts with us fans.

Yeah, I know, alot of webcomic artists are like that, but that is one reason I like BCB. ;)

Same as ILB.

The story and art rock.

And an active community.

Amaya.

And ILB’s relentless optimism.

The writing and the style.

The style because this wouldn’t be the same if it was with humans

and the writing because it’s a dam good storyline.

It’s ability to make me sob quite often, the nice people in the IRC and the polite attitude of the moderators.

The pacing. The way the panels are in the comic, it just works.

I also love how Taeshi is very involved with the fans. Not just answer questions, but comment pictures by fans, in a lot of the forum topics, and is just an all around nice person.

But the comic itself? I’m a teenage girl, a sucker for romance and drama~

The forum is just awesome for me too! Great fan fics, funny community, and low on trolls.

The store is adorable and I love the mailing payment instead of having to use a credit card. And is pretty afordable!

Keep up the good work, everybody.

The story, the characters, and the writing. It’s all great. Realy pulls me in to their world and want to try and help them.

Oh, and the mods/Gods to. I mean they let me get away with the hate corner. They rock.

I believe this thread has been made before…

In any case, my reasons are the same as ILBs’ and Jinxs’…except the being a teenage girl part.

;)

there are a lot of things I really like about this particular webcomic, but I think the biggest one for me is that the characters feel like real people… albeit anthropomorphic. the other things I like are the obvious; great writing and sense of humor and I love the artstyle.

I agree with some other members. I’m rather new to the forum, but from what I’ve seen its a fun fanbase.

The art is great, the story is phenomenal, the carecters are realistic, (aside from being half cat/dog) and the writing is amazing.
All that can be liked about this comic is loved by me. :)

Also I’m in a really good mood right now.

One thing I realized is…I can’t picture this with normal humans? When I think BCB, I think it has have cat/dog people. Its weird that I can’t picture normal people in this…

King October 5, 2010, 3:42 PM EST.

Comment ID #100532

not really. If it had started with humans instead, cats/dogs would seem weird.

of course Taeshi’s interaction with the forumites need a little refinement. maybe she should be tutored in leadership lessons…

or just read the right books its all the same.

Taeshi is nice to practically everyone and every person who has posted here will swear by it, that the way she and Suitcase treat us is a major factor in us coming back to the forum regularly. Did it ever occur to you that she is not the problem?

J. Vincero (Jerk) October 5, 2010, 4:03 PM EST.

Comment ID #100545

yeah i know im the problem. but a problem is made worse by ingoring it

hence the failure

It’s not our responsibility to give you therapy. What’s more, we ignore you because you hijack every damn thread with your self-pity. I’ve tried reaching out to you, but you don’t even try to quit being a douche. If you’d met us even halfway, you’d be so much more tolerable.

I’m done. When Taeshi or Suitcase quit putting up with you and ban you for shitting up so many threads, I won’t give a shit. You brought it on yourself.

Let’s take a breather and remember why we’re here. We all like Bittersweet Candybowl. That much I think all of us can agree on.

i am here because i like to draw cats crying and laughing a lot

What don’t I like about the comic? The characters are real and lovable, the story is addicting and funny and amazing. The art is cute and fun to look at. It is a wonderful mix of romance, drama, comedy and a little bit of slice-of-life (yah I know Taeshi hates for it to be called that but I can’t think of a better word.) But the real reason I am so active in the community is because of the amazing author and forum goers.

To have so much fun interaction with other people who honestly are sweet and caring even if we can all be jerks sometimes (Except for Sean and ILB, those two don’t have a mean bone in their bodies.) This feeling of a close knit family that happily opens it’s arms to others is the reason I keep coming back.

I stick with bcb because I was in a phase where I read alot of manga and alot of it was shojo shit and I found the hilarity and drama right up my alley and then I went to the forums and found that the people there were really nice and uhm, the creator said hi and I felt cool about that and uhm then I kept coming back and getting involved and I fell in love with jasmines character design and I enjoyt the stories and deeper character motivations and endless irc debates and skype chats and uhm taeshi is a cool person who attracts other cool people.

Also, I really, reall; really like cats
