Possible BCBhint or Easter egg Or just unchanged

If you have a phone with Internet, log on to the BCB mobile site and go to the About section. Scroll down alllllllllll the way, and read the last question.
"Do Mike and Lucy end up together? On the mobile version, it says "Yes". On the regular site, it says "No".
Possible hint/Easter egg/forgotten an unchanged quote found!

And now it says no for me. Random possibly?

Confirmed random or changed with variables. I reloaded and it says yes. Probably the same for the PCs also.
  • #1

means iphones gonna have a shitty ending, and Spacemouse gonna sue apple for teh shittiness. congrats freeman, you unearthed a plan bigger than all of us
  • #2

It's randomized on both. It's a frequently asked question and there's no real good way to answer it without spoiling shit because, duh, it's a spoilerific question.

Just learn to let Taeshi and Suit fuck with us and stop being stupid.
  • #3

lol. that's cool.

I went and tried it on pc 5 times. 5 out of 5, it said yes.

Souppy's idea, he's the smartie.

Could also be interpreted as "both", considering the FAQ says there's going to be a 'bad end' to the story, too.
But I dunno.
  • #7

Thats genious. Nice one.

EDIT: wow, speaking english almost all my life - still dont know how to spell "genius"..

So wait, half of Lucy ends up with half of Michael in a sort of Frankenstein-type horror, while the other two halves are tossed away and burnt separately?
  • #9

...Although if my suggestion was correct, there'd be only a few possible scenario pairs that constitute the good and the bad end.

Namely,
Mike and Sandy (Lucy alone?) / Mike and Lucy - Dunno which one would be the 'bad' one
Mike and Lucy / Mike and <unspecified character> - Mike and Lucy would probably be the good end here unless we got some new characters or Mike turned out to be gay. (Mike and Daisy? I can't see that being a good end, really. Not with the current relationship situations, anyway. :D)
Mike and Lucy (good) / Mike alone (bad, also possibly Lucy alone?) - I dunno how the latter could ever even happen, though. Especially if they both ended up being alone.

Can't think of more.

You forget all the pairings that Lucy might have with other characters. ^_^

The probability of those is highly arguable, though.

Heh, ILB. Now you make me think of Schrödinger's BCB ending. XD

Here's an example of how both Mike and Lucy could end up alone: Mike meets Sandy, but the two find that they've both changed over the years, and are no longer romantically compatible. Now Mike is single once again, but he still chooses not to be with Lucy, because she's hurt him too much in the past. Lucy, for her part, finds she needs to overcome her fear of rejection, so she decides to become good friends with people rather than get into any relationships just yet.

Personally, I think the most suitable ending to Bittersweet Candy Bowl would (of course!) be a bittersweet ending. Now a Mike×Lucy ending might seem too sugary-sweet for that, however it's possible the 'bitter' part could involve characters other than Mike and Lucy.

The ironic part is that "Schrödinger's Mike" is already an in-joke in CRFH (from whence I come).

It is? Oh dear. ^_^

Our local variant might deal with the problem in the form of "what if you put Lucy and Michael under a bowl, rather than a cat in a box".
  • #15

Before I fully backread Ima guess this is Suitcase being clever...*backreads* Yep...and I did not notice that before.

And the outcomes would be Lucy beating the shit of Mike and the two making out?

Lucy is not destined to be alone if Mike stays with Sandy...
  • #19

I'm going to be upbeat and say none of the main characters are destined to be alone...(except David of course)
  • #20

I had tested this a few times and got "Yes" 3+ times. Then posted this and went back to look again, and it said no, then alternated from there. Then I realized that it was random.
I considered that it was Taeshi/SuitCase messing with us, but I had a few other conclusions as well. Plus, it was posted from my iPhone, and I was tired as well.
Thumbs up to wacko for the Schrodinger's BCB ending!

I wonder if anyone else noticed this before I did...

Many people noticed it before I can safely assure you.
Also on the note of the good or bad ending stuff earlier, good ending and bad ending can have many different meanings depending on who you are, and also a bad ending may not be really that bad as one would think. Probably just a minor change that screws up a certain character rather than everybody.
@Draixen, I don't see why that needed to be posted. It's not like the thread is that bad or a troll thread.

And now I get stalked and killed by a group of masked people telling "For the lolz!!1!" for an unintentional misleading thread.

Guess who was shipped with Sue in one of BCB's earlier incarnations. ^_^
  • #26

it's high school. I have never heard of a relationship that lasted to the end of high school.
At least nothing non-fiction.
don't know if it's different for anyone else here

It happens, actually, unusual as it is.

That said, most high school pairings last about a week, then there is a week of "I hate you", and then everything is back to normal.

You forgot this one, esalaka:
Mike and Lucy (bad) - Saindy dies / goes away, whatever, Mike settles for seconds, Lucy follows him like a sad puppy. Sad, love-less relationship of Mike being grief-struck and just "accepting" Lucy, and Lucy continueing to be dependent on Mike, though is deeply struck because she knows he doesn't love her back.

Mike alone (good, also Lucy alone) - People grow smarter and more mature towards the end of high school and learn that a whole new life awaits them in the future with new people, new relationships and new adventures. Those silly pairing were grown out of, and everyone goes live their lives happily.

Plus, yeah, what bendy said.

Well yep.

And just like with poor Schrödinger cat, the only way to find out is to disturb the medium that supports the experiment (namely: lifting the bowl and looking)

Mike alone, lucy alone, mike and lucy, lucy and paulo, paulo and mike, Paulo and Daisy, Mike and sandy.

I don't think Paulo X Mike has a chance.
But a real twist would be if someone DIED.

And we still have to worry about Alejandro

I think actually, you could have a good end, and in the bad end, Mike dies. Don't get me wrong, I love Mike, but he's the one that ties the rest of the characters together, and since there would also be a good alternative in which he survives, it could make for a really dramatic ending. It could even have a 'Sliding Doors' moment, which plays them out simultaneously.

Maybe I'm just morbid, but having an important character (although not necessarily the main protagonist) die gives a kind of impact you couldn't even approach otherwise, and it could give a very serious tone to it, especially if contrasted to a good ending.

Imma shut up now though.

I think the real hint was the old april fools Carter joke :P . Not really, it is funny to add that question at the end though. Now what'd be really confusing would be if the comic really did end on April 1st of whenever. Leaving you to always wonder  Nooch

That would be evil. Particularly if what happened before was successfully dubious. ^_^

Oh dear, now I wish that would happen.
  • #38

I remember noticing this right when I saw it in the FAQ, I guess I was looking at it right when the answer was to change from "Yes" to "No"
  • #39

Perhaps "Another Path" WAS the bad ending. Just sayin'. I mean, seemed pretty terrible to me.
  • #40

Even though Lucy and Paulo both ended up happy, along with Mike finally being able to spend time with Sandy and be happy?
  • #41

Yup, it was still bad because Mike was not with Lucy.
  • #42

Even when it ends good for both sides, you still believe its a bad ending :smirk:

About that easter egg, it's random. The text changes on the regular browser at about 7-13 second intervals. Try scrolling to it multiple times.

Very funny though, I like that. :D]

EDIT:

Read the OP again, random has been confirmed XD silly me.

Eh, doesn't have to be that way. I know who the female lead in the story of my life is. Everybody, and I do mean this literally, who knew us shipped us together. It was common knowledge among anybody who remotely cared that we were a couple, and most of our friends didn't believe us when we said we didn't like each other like that. Eventually, we gave in and tried dating (which was in fact prompted by the revelation that she had once had a crush on me). By all laws of narrative causality, we ought to be married at this point. However, ours is not the cliched ending, and overall we had at least as much basis for cliche as Mike and Lucy.
