Bittersweet Candy Bowl at Connecticon '11

So we are indeed exhibiting at Connecticon, an anime/comics convention that takes place in Hartford, Connecticut from Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 10, 2011. Wait, let me use their words:

Quote

ConnectiCon 2011 will be held July 8-10, 2011 at the Connecticut Convention Center and Hartford Marriott Downtown. Events at the convention center will take place on Friday and Saturday between 8am and midnight, and Sunday between 8am and 6pm. Events at the Hartford Marriott Downtown will run 24-hours a day beginning at 8am on Friday morning and ending at 6pm on Sunday evening.

Seems like a lot of anime merchandise and cosplaying stuff going on, but there is a big webcomics presence as well -- check out the list of webcomic attendees, which we should be on but often aren't but I dunno it keeps getting updated.

Anyway, after our enquiry they were kind enough to offer us a table since we're SUCH WEBCOMIC BIG SHOTS NOW.

Tickets for a single day are $25-40 depending on the day you come, and $50 for the whole weekend. They have a hotel deal where it's $145 a night, but I found some hotels around the airport\convention area for $90.

We would appreciate anyone who wants to come - we'd be selling merchandise, the books, and Veronica can do sketches for you? We will also have mini-comics for those who only have a few dollars to spare but want some of the cool new content from the book!

Anyway, this thread could be a roll call for those who want to come, or for those who want to chime in with useless "I cannot afford it!" posts or for those who aren't even in the area and want to tell the world about it. EITHER WAY, check out how to get to Hartford and consider coming!

I can't take two weeks of work....oh well.

I live near Hartford, so I should be able to make it. Don't expect me to be cosplaying though. I don't do that stuff. :/

i would have loved to come but i think BCBCon was enough driving for chase13 and myself.... i wish we would have saved up enough money to fly out -.-

I wish I could have gone there, but I had already agreed to be in a volleyball tournement that weekend, (which we won the whole thing) and BCB Con draind me of alot of my funds. Still it would have been fun to go.

If you guys go there again in the future, (like the next time you visit your parents) I will have to try and go.

ConnectiCon was completely awesome, and it was fun meeting Taeshi!

I saw you guys at the Connecticon on Saturday~ :D

I remember being like, "oh, what's this?" since I'm mainly an anime person and your stuff was new to me, and that got me reading the comics here. What sucks is I didn't already know it, so I only bought one thing D:
