Sorry for the mix up. Apparently the gray cat in the bottom photo is not Luntik but Yoda, a cat from Chicago who also has 4 ears. Look up Luntik, he was on the news and he's cuter than Yoda.

Considering the mutations, it is kind of cool to think about cats gaining the force before us. "Hauntings" also knowen as "the cat came back" but he stayed kind of hidden.

If I'm not mistaken, most cat fancy organizations refuse to recognize the "munchkin breed" for this exact same reason--it's a mutation that shouldn't be codified into a breed. This guy may succeed in getting a large number of multi-eared cats, but he's going to have a hard time getting them to actually be recognized as a breed.
Why isn't there a "Meh" or "I don't care" on the poll?

Really? I think they are cool and that part of the reason that you don't like it is that that is not what you are used to seeing in a cat and it makes you think of the "cute and cuddly" critter as "strange and unusual but still the same in most ways".
You cannot argue the breeding of inperfection without supporting the master race.

Perfection/imperfection is completely subjective. This argument can be applied against long haired cats and any cat without distinct tabby markings.
The issue here is you are breeding a feature that is probably going to cause significant health problems. In the past, mutations like this have lead to breeds like the Persian, who have long fur and a flat face, but these mutations are not beneficial to the animal and often cause major problems (Persians are known for horrible dental issues, and on the dog side, the Dachsund is well known for spine problems that can and do lead to paralysis.) In the past, these issues wouldn't have been thought of, but the current trend has shifted away from this entirely to the point where many fanciers and breeding organizations refuse to acknowledge new breeds that exhibit these features.

I think as long as it can be proved that the ears are only aesthetic, and hold no severe medical problems[Hearing problems first come to mind, because of the inactive ears blocking off the active ears] for the cats, then this is completely legitimate, fairly cute[depending on ear placement], and extremely cool.

Breed a race of over 5000 five and four eard cats and then let them loose into a harsh environment.

Other genetic mutations in the past doesn't make this alright, besides they were of a different scale. Cats have fur, breeding them with long fur is just altering one of their characteristics they already have. Cats with extra ears are different, you are adding something new to the animal as apposed to altering something. It would be fair enough to say this is breeding imperfection into the race isn't it? I mean cats (and almost every other animal on Earth) have been genetically strengthened throughout all of history, the weakest traits are lost and the strongest are kept, the result is two eared animals, to suddenly come in and try to alter the breed in such a major way just seems too much like playing god to me, especially when we are doing it just because some people think it looks different.

My definitions were nott biased. I did not select the definition but instead just grabbed the first on I saw. They may have been benificial though.

Ok, looking back, we have actualy gone far off track. The original argument was about the idea of a genetic "imperfection".
This idea supports the idea that there is a wrong and a right to genetic codes. However, "abnormality" is a totaly seperate issue that you seem to be treating like the same thing.
So then, do you think that a mutation from the more regularly exerted sets of genetic code is an imperfection? This would be the place where we should have started.

Cats are the way they are (minus a few alterations by humans) because they evolved to be that way through natural selection, to breed in a trait that would of died out adds weakness.

I am not saying that current cats are perfect, I am saying the current cats are the closest things we have to perfect. For these two cats to be found with 4/5 ears in the tiny amount of time which is one lifetime almost guarantees that throughout the huge time of history other cats would have been born with unusual amounts of ears. The fact that more of these cats don't exist in modern times proves that it is an unfavorable trait.
