How were you introduced to BCB?

I was reading Akward Zombie (a videogame-centic comic by Katie tiedrich) when I saw Lucy off on the side. Well, what caught my eyes wasn't Lucy, it was the option beneath Lucy, "deck her in the face." I took in the cats, the expressions, and my curiosity was piqued, to the point that I actually clicked on the advertisement. Let me make something clear, I NEVER, EVER, EVER, click on ads on webpages. I'm not very trusting, and internet anonymity doesn't help. But this time I did, and I was caught from the moment I started reading page 1.

I'm kinda like that, but I'm glad we took the risk!

I was reading Las Lindas when i saw the link.

HEY WE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON

horrible memory

I saw the banner while browsing TWC. third place meant it had to be really good, plus I loved the art style and admittedly love the furry characters.(too a certain extent) I was hooked after the first few pages, ended up reading through the archives up until about half way through pillow talk in 2 nights. Now I wait for updates at midnight every other weekday. God, I am such a fucking addict.
  • #56

I was reading A Girl on the Server!(now finished) and I saw the ad of Daisy yelling at Abbey and then yelling that shes going to kiss him. I had seen the ad several times, until I decided to click it. It was the beginning of the Halloween arc and I had only gotten involved in the community in February.
  • #57

I found BCB through a Facebook ad, which is weird because I never usually click on those but it seemed legit bro. 8-D

It was either Questionable Content or TwoKinds. Or Housepets. Or... Fuck it. It was definitely from one of the other webcomics I read.

I think the e621.net ads are fairly new.

(Also, the whole "Who's your favorite/least favorite character" discussion is best suited for another thread.)

I thought so from the font used in the Zombie Survival section and then suddenly >gm_construct

SuitCase for furry overlord 2012.

I saw the ad on Megatokyo's website. I had (reluctantly) clicked on those comics before, but none were ever any good. Something looked good about this one, though. Luckily, I clicked on it.

and now I'm here.

Yeah, I was on Awkward Zombie too, around ten at night. Saw the ad where Mike's on the computer holding the mouse over the "Deck Lucy in the Face" option. I think, 'Hmm, this might be pretty funny. *Click: Read: Ohmahgawditsmyentirelifeinanutshell!: Passes out after reading for seven hours*

Mega Tokyo's awesome, but he doesn't update as much as you would want him. That's why I like BCB, since it will update whenever the creator says it.

I love these types of threads, such a great first post spot. And I will proceed to ruin that aspect with this one!

Yeah. I found it through e621. Now. Before I get crap for this, know something. I have no fursona. I am not a furry really. I just like art. A lot. I suck at it myself, but I love it at the same time. So, browsing through different types is just something I do ^_^.

Anywho, while I was there I saw the ad that said ANGST ANGST ANGST ANGST ANGST etc. and I thought, "Wow, me and my friends talk about that a lot. This comic seems promising already." I then read chapter 1 first (yeah, clicked archive instantly, forget introductions ;D). I read further, saw a Di Gi Charat reference, fangirled all over it (and I'm a guy), and decided that this is a good place for me...And the forums seem just as fun.

I'm glad at least somebody came from Megatokyo. Running ads there was relatively (relative to PW) expensive, and I wasn't totally happy with the return on them. Seems good for a targeted audience if you sell animu shit, but not good enough for a generic webcomic audience.
  • #69

It was exactly a year ago... was browsing facebook and saw the bcb ad. At first I was like meh and ignored it the first 3 or 4 times i saw it, but after a while I said ''okay, since this ad keeps following me around I might as well check it out.'' ...and yeah. Started reading it because I was bored and it ended up being pretty nice. :nope: I'm proud that I've been able to keep up with the comic for a whole year!

That's how I found Better Days. 8-)
  • #71

My friend INSISTED on showing it to me, apparently he got into it from another friend of mine. The first bit he showed me was the Sex Ed. chapter. One of my favs!
  • #72

How I Got Into BCB? A Few years ago During the Alcopoco Saga My Friend Sent me an Email Saying "Check this awesome Comic Out" and I Was Hooked on Bcb since then.
  • #73

i'm a little surprised, i'm actually the only one that saw the ad through mspaintadventures.com. at least i saw it there first, i saw it on awkward zombie a little while later.

I looked up the comic on Rule 34 less than an hour after discovering it. <sarcasm>does that count?</sarcasm>

This ^^
Yeah.. I recall having read it before just a little bit when I was younger.. So i started reading it again and finished it in two days. Like, the best two days of my life. I LOVE this comic.
  • #80

Not sure really. But I love comic so that's why I'm here
  • #81

Saw ads appear on several webcomic sites followed by ads on my facebook so, I decided to just click it. I do not regret the decision.
  • #82

I didn't really find BCB through the interwebs (I don't think I'd ever would know of it if it ever EXCSETED if it was for my friend.) To make a long story short Bearkidney came over, used his laptop to get on BCB, and told me what the story was about to get interstided in.
  • #83

It was certainly one of the other webcomics I read.

Either Las Lindas, Twokinds, Sore Thumbs or TOBlender.
  • #84

Cool.
  • #85

I found it through an ad on...Questionable Content, I believe? Anyway, I got hooked pretty quickly. I'm a sucker for angsty-ness, I guess.

The advert i saw was the couples one, you know the one with david peeking on that girl, and I thought hmm this looks funny.
  • #87

just a general question, put the story to how you did in the comments! i'll eve tell you mine,

alright... so, to get this topic started, I found an ad for BCB while on e621.net okay, that was flat out embarrassing for me but what the hell, it looked funny so i gave it a try, and now I'm hooked! Can't wait for the updates, and they are so damn worth the wait!
  • #88

Already got a thread for this here and I'm sure there's another thread that I remember but I can't find it at the moment.

Saw the ad several times on e621.net. Ignored it several times then decided to check it out, and I thought it had porn in it. I was disappointed at first but then I read it. XD

I was checking to see if the web comic MEGATOKYO had updated (It didn't and hasn't for months now) when I saw a BCB add at the top of the screen.
  • #99

Was reading my guilty pleasure (Tiny Kitten Teeth) when I saw the Dating Game Ad. Clicked once, went back, and immediately clicked again. I then proceeded to read the entire webcomic in one night.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the creativity of the ad, I'd never have thought twice about it. And now, BCB is my homepage.
