some simple humans.
the three girls are practice with emotions, they are not my characters.
the guy is me.

I believe you judge your own work with far to heavy a hand; it's truly not bad at all. You do seem to learning the fundamentals quite well; you simply need a little more experience with details, which will come in time and with practice.

All in all, it's not bad at all, and I would love to see more of it, BCB fan art or no.

@Meowth
thank you.
I think one of the reasons I hate my art is because I have a lot of ideas of what to do, but when I attempt therm, they never live up to expectations.
@Cedar
thanks!

Oh, you know what? that last post was too sad. a crying girl, a mad girl, my angry persona, and that devil girl....
NICE STUFF, COMING RIGHT UP.

what's that? oh, i bet it's because it's just a circle! ;) (talkin at you jorje!)

sergeant sarcasm strikes! 8-)

really, all you need to work on right now is getting the basic shapes down. after that you'll be able to control emotions and body language much easier. all of my beginning stuff was despicable, the heads of my dinosaurs looked like potato chips. (they still look like potato chips) and i still suck at hands and feet. just work through it, experiment with different styles, combine your favorite parts of different styles, and voila! you are an artist!

yeah. most of my art is an attempt at a chibi/manga/cartoon style.
I have really bad shaky hands. this causes the lines to get pretty nasty some times.
but thanks. I think i'm getting better, because this is one of my old pics, and this was way worse

Your style is rather nice though the female heads end up like ughh...politely saying...like they were chewed up

I apologize in advance if you didn't want any criticism or help.
Here are some examples in links below which could be helpful to you in drawing the female heads (along with few face expressions) that is close to your drawing style.

well, here is my 3D Art final.
now, the HD render of my video was canceled halfway through, so the re-render is low quality. (so that I could turn it in on time)
made in 3DS max 7 (2006 edition)
time frame: 1.5 weeks.
I plan to work on it over the summer, so any criticisms/comments are VERY welcome
known issues:
tail rotor stops spinning
glass in cockpit is glitched
particles don't hit the targets before they explode

thanks!

the problem Is that I have a shaky hand, and cannot draw very well proportionately. 3d art is easy, becuase you can punch in numbers and values to get the correct sises.
however, the art takes about a day. this took twelve days.
really, I like all kinds of art. I also have a ton of stuff in the MC is art too... right? thread.
drawn is the worst of it >.>

I was up till four last night with a headache, so I drew to distract from my head.
so, I drew meowth again, recanting the worst day of his life.

and I also drew beach, because god dammit, I love drawing cheese.

The text reads, "new metalica album! St. Anger."
*CLICK*
"and on that day, A part of meowth died."

Yes Chris, I am just that amazing. No need to explain why you would want to draw something so amazing.

All arogance aside, keep the good stuff coming.

Hope you dont mind me using this pic as my avatar.

*REVIVE*

spent about 20 minutes doing a little side project. I wanted to try my 3d skills, so I decided to try to go for a mountain at dusk in foggy highlands.
this is a work in progress, and I will be adding more and more to the project, probably some other mountains and having a camera flythrough scene, but for now, here it is.

comments and questions are welcome.

What program did you use?

It's pretty good, btw.
Also what's that bright color on the ground?
  • #37

For some reason I keep thinking that once you get over the hill, you'll see Helm's Deep.

haha, thank you guys!

@hero: the white stuff is supposed to be snow. the texture didnt turn out as well as I would have liked.

@beach: man, now I want to try to make that >.>

oh well. anyway, I put a couple more hours of work into it, and came up with this. it's untextured for the moment, but I think that gives it a nice, clean look. It's only half the length of the final one I have planned, but its still a work in progress. enjoy!
(and as always, comments and suggestions are welcome)

I would like to work with you on learning to model and learning textures. I mean, damn, that mountain is amazing. Do you use Blender, 3DMax, or what?

thanks guys!

@Carcharocles:
thanks! I would be flattered! for the project, I was using 3Ds max 9, an older version used by our school. however this can all be done in 3ds max 2011.
the mountain is actually a simple displace modifier that uses a radial gradient ramp map. however, that creates a static cone, so I used noise to ad some bumps and ridges. my teacher taught this technique to me about a month or so ago, but you can get the jist of it here.
  • #43

That's really, really cool, Chris :O
  • #44

Halo.
  • #45

VERY cool! You should try to model a BCB character!

That way I could use a 3-D printer to make it real and put it in an airplane!!!

(now I just need a 3-D printer haha)

yes, but organics, especially humanoids, are very difficult. I actually have an ongoing project of trying to model lucy flipping off the camera, but It has frustrated my attempts.
I'll keep trying though.

so, I redid the helicopter video so I could test some cell shading techniques.

EDIT: It will not let me post the video directly for some reason. sorry for the inconvenience

yeah, that was a problem with the original animation. I just fixed up some of the polygons on the helicopter and cell shaded it.

ill fix that tail rotor problem though.
