Chrispy's 3D art! (and the occasional drawing)
also, a little video I made using that volcano to see how cell shading would look on moving water and lava.

I keep redoing the helicopter becuase it renders quickly and is easy to work with, but I am curious. would you guys like me to try to animate another scene for some diversity? right now my biggest focus is really just experimentation with visual effects, but I would also like to put up stuff you guys want to see.
so, keep the helicopter or scrap it?

I used a tutorial on mental ray rendering to create this Japanese rock-pile-zen-thing.
(also used it as a test to see how long it would take to render HD images. (3:12 for this picture))
hope you enjoy

Try and render this, face and shoulders only. No need to go into too much detail, I'm just curious at what you'll do with it.

3D is just... amazing!

so, I decided to try some new animation stuff. I made a very simple figure, as simple as I could get pretty much, and wanted to test the walking animation. it took about 20-30 minutes, and it was very fast because the model was so simple.

your request is still in the works.
I have the basic head but it's just... way to rough for me to be satisfied with it. I really want to get this one right, so I'm going to try it again.

so, I've almost finished that living room. all I have to do is texture it, but I don't really know how i'm going to do it. so here is the untextured version, and If the texturing works out i'll post that.

@klaus, organic in what way?
anyway, the art might slow down for a bit. I'm really fucking busy and stressed, and I need to focus on my grades right now.
I might as well forget about this as career as well, you need experience with a lot of tools that I don't have access to to get a foot in the door in the rendering business, plus you have to come in from a good school.
not really sure what i'm going to do with myself at this point.
but who cares about that. this thread is about art. speaking of which, I have something rendering while I do my homework. I'll upload it later.

(seriously though, I would try, but I suck at organics. I am still working on charch's request, but it still looks terrible. this is why animals and people are probably not going to pass my retardedly high standards and will never be finished because they would embarrass me.)

after five red bulls, a ton of tinkering, and a great deal of time that could have been better spent, I turned it into an animation.
but, I want to keep my promise of a pic tonight. I give you the first frame of the animation. (it's in 1920X1080 just as a warning)
(it took 5 minutes to render without any sort of texturing whatsoever) (there are 1000 frames, So it might take a day or two before I can update.)

I kind of trailed off. Anyways, I like the recent one you made.
Good job Chris!

I'm not really the poetic type though, so make whatever you want of it!

If you want a criticism though, it's that I noticed (only on second glance in the larger image) that the shadow of the marble wasn't round, but pixellated.
