Perfect timing. I desperately need lines from the remaining girls. XXD

But what I need even more is Jasmine's lines to kick start the audio recording - which comprises of half of the project - animating the whole thing can be done later. ;)

So yeah I'm more than happy to hear what you can offer. I'll be online for the next 5 hours working on this. :D

Amen to that! :D I can feel the love coming. X3

And I can't believe how ignorant I was regarding Commie's reply very early on Page 01. I somehow missed out on the part: "I'll be doing all of the girls voices"... How the hell did I miss that one?? XXD

I'm going to beg her to do Daisy, apparent she's top notch for her voice from a comment I saw whilst browsing through the forums. And heck if she's got the energy I'll throw in Jasmine and Rachel too.... Actually... Just for kicks I should give Rachel a shot... Yeaaaah XX3 *SHOT*

What?? You do performing arts/singing performances?? Geez that's more than enough skill to dish out a recording. XD

I don't know man, just go for your natural voice. = ) What I love about this project is being able to hear a diverse range of voices and if the voice sinks
in to what I've interpreted in the series than bang you would have nailed a spot. But then again under these desperate circumstances I'm more than happy
to take any volunteers! ;)

Pass me the lines via darkspeeds@hotmail.com as an attachment if you can please. ^^
  • #55

Heya Bridgeotto!

That was great! :D I had to listen to it three times to get it into my head.

Surprisingly I was expecting a more energetic voice but instead I got an elegant mature sounding voice! LOL! XD

And based on the accent I had a feeling you were Australian. :D I guess that as I listened to it more your voice fits for Sue.
I can see her in the position of taking the election seriously - your mature voice reflects this. The elegant tone adds a nice feminine touch to Sue's voice I had
in mind - well done. = )

I guess the next stage is for proper recording. Let me send this message first so that you get a heads up on the fact that you got her role. Brb with the next set
of instructions!

Kind regards,

Elson 'Darkspeeds' Wong

Elson..erm, not o sound rude or anything, but after the crit from last page, I was thinking, maybe putting David's voice up for somebody who's got that thing to act as light-hearted and constantly cheerful.

But that's just my opinion. ^^;

He Dark if I am going to audition for McCain, I'm not quite confident that McCain makes very often background sounds. He seems to be the more quiet type and will only make a sound when he speaks...

Well you'll be competing for a spot with Jshadow who's just above ya on this reply. In addition to that someone by the name of Arnas Baubkus is giving a shot too. Send it in, it won't hurt to try. ;)

You 2 both. =P
  • #61

Well a decision has been made for the person to voice act as McCain. And that person is Jshadow. Honourable mentions go to Arnas Baubkus & RedJack for their participation. I really appreciate your input and unfortunately you won't be picked for the role this time.

I actually had fun listening to each of your auditions. I wasn't easy to pick the voice that I had envisioned for this series. = ) In this instance I thought that maybe it'd be cool to try a variant on McCain's voice by having it sound slightly foreign/latin. I don't know why but that's just what my gut tells me, McCain can sound unique this way and Jshadow managed to pull it off. On top of that his recording had the highest in clarity too.

Again thanks to the both of you for participating, I really appreciate your time and effort submitting your auditions. ;) Nevertheless I got one thing to announce...

4 MORE CHARACTERS TO GO!!! Which of you girls are willing to take the spot? = )

I desperately need Jasmine's lines now
since she's the one who starts off with Paulo, and the sooner I get Jasmine's earlier lines the earlier I can begin the audio recording/editing process for the first few pages.

My plan of action is to hopefully get Commie to voice act as Daisy and Jasmine. I'll try and see if I can get someone to help do Lucy and Rachel's lines at the same time.
Worse comes to worse I can fill in for Rachel and increase the pitch to make it sound a little more feminine... XXXD Ah well let's see how this goes. Oh and for encouragement Sue would like to say something:

Oh wait ill just do Lucy's voice! [/sarcasm]

Hey worse comes to worse somebody's gotta do Lucy's voice. If you seriously think you can pull off a decent voice for her (sarcasm aside) then feel free to send it in, no one's playing her role at the moment. XD Worth a laugh don't cha' think? ;)

I could understand the whole last resort. But trust me, if I were to be Lucy. It would be because this is a parody where i would give her a funny accent. Maybe even manly like. XD And I'll think about doing it for ze giggle fits of fun-ness ;P

Voice filters are interesting things... tweak it enough and I sound just like Jasmine, at least that's how I feel...
ANYWAY, if you can't get enough voice actors in time, I'd be glad to help in that respect
  • #67

I would absolutely love to volunteer for Jasmine, i have a mic, and i have a lap top, and if the recording is not good enough on there, i have a friend who is a computer sciences student who built his own 2k computer and has an even better mic, so i know i have a place to get a good recording.

I've done plenty of acting, like dinner theaters and small performances, so i feel confident i can do it, i've also competed vocally (poetry readings, musical theater and just plain singing) at arts festivals.
and if you need me to play a second character, like a small part, like Rachels lines, i may be able to change things up and do that.

i am at work right now, but i will try to lay it down tonight, before i go away to my volunteering position.
I will be unavailable after that for feed back until tomorrow afternoon.

Awwwwww man! You've GOT to be joking. ;__; Why did your comment come in so late?! XXD I got an e-mail from the Voice Acting Alliance group, a girl picked up the thread I posted and sent me a sample already. The moment I heard it I got her in to play as Jasmine and Daisy.

We'll see how that goes, it still doesn't hurt to get some samples from you! I'd love to hear them (and thanks for helping out!)

Amazing, I was spending a couple of hours on YouTube watching Ranma 1/2 episodes to record SFX live from that series. I have a feeling those SFX will be useful for the project, after all there is a similar link to the genres portrayed in BSCB and Ranma 1/2. X3

So what kind of SFX do you have? Which game would that be? I've got a folder dedicated to sound effects - both downloaded and custom recorded. Just send it in anyway - it'll be a great help to recieve more samples Toffee! ;)

Gosh, I totally wish I could help out. I loooove reading webcomics out loud, and this would be so much fun. But I don't have a quality mic. D: Or a PC. I really hope this works out though, I'm sure it'll be just as fun to watch as it is to read. So, good luck. ^^

No probs! That's what I love about making animated adaptations - listening to how fans portray characters to their favourite series! It's especially rewarding when the final product comes out well - it will be something that both myself and fans will be proud of. It'll be even cooler if the creators enjoyed the video! ^^

Well your enthusiasm is a reflection of mine when it comes to reading out webcomics out loud - it is a lot of fun. = ) I learned a lot and had tremendous entertainmet making those DREAMKEEPERS video tributes/animated adaptations.

TO EVERYONE

Boy, there is something I've been finding quite a real challenge for this project so far... And that's the kind of BGM used for this chapter/series. I haven't animated something that is teen drama/romance orietated. It's been fun trying to think up of the right music for the right moments in the chapter... I've been thinking about it for days, even during my sleep! XD

I hope to get it right man... It's really a make or break situation sometimes because music can play a huge part in an animation. Though I'm anticipating quite a lot of silence in this chapter, I still have to coordinate the right tracks to fit in the mood or situation.

I wonder what you guys and gals think - what kind of music comes to play in your head when you're reading Bittersweet Candy Bowl? Maybe listening to some suggestions might give me some ideas/inspiration. :D

Btw. Sent that thar thing to ya. XD

I just notced after sending it that there is in fact a lot a static in the background... Good thing I'm not really trying to get the part XD

This just in.

As I was walking to the carpark at my workplace when I finished my shift - looking forward to going home and working on the project, look what happened to the window wipers to my car?

Posted Image

Bloody drunken bastards...
Or otherwise patrons pissed off at where I parked. I was late for work and parked my car by the kerb, everyone does it in late nights and in two years I never had a problem - until now.

Sorry to break the news but I'll have to give my car insurance a call and find out if this kind of incident is insured. Due to this I may have to delay the project but I'll still continue to work on it where possible, I ain't gonna let some shitty incident get in the way. Life's a bitch and it's about time I get some random shit happen to me for once... I live too happy of a life... XD So yeah thanks for the messages and for submitting your auditions! I'll have a listen when I'm done with the insurance thing - and getting both window wipers fixed. I probably wont' be able to drive the car till it's fixed cuz it'll be too dangerous to drive in rainy conditions. X_x;

This post has been edited by Darkspeeds: 27 May 2011 - 11:49 PM

Dude that sucks! At least the bastards didn't have enough sense to take the car keys sitting on the windshield after breaking off the wipers. Anyways, hopefully you have full-coverage, but even then you might have to pay a pricey deductible. Good luck, hopefully it works out.
  • #80

Technically it wouldn't be as dangerous if it were the other window wiper as the one that is still working is on your side making you still able to see through your window.
  • #81

My excess will cost my $500 AUD, not worth it. I did a little research online and it's possible to get the window arm wiper to be replaced. I'll go to my Toyota service centre and get a quote from there. At least it should be half the price to get it fixed.

Oh those photos were taken at home. If those car keys were left at the car park lot (who the hell would do that?? XXD) god knows what will happen next - take my car for a joy ride? I wouldn't mind if they crashed and died, they deserve to - we got too many senseless drivers here and it's no surprise if they were drunk in the process.

Good point but surprisingly the window wiper that is still intact is bent upwards - making it not possible to wipe or touch the windscreen. It sucks but yeah I learn something new about my car at least... XD

Anyways since it's the weekends I'll have to call my Toyota service centre during the weekday. Therefore time to get back to the project... *listens to more auditions and edits the page artwork*

Also....

@ Kurokan - After listening to that clip twice... I was almost in tears laughing... XXXXXXXD Funniest shite ever (BSCB related). How did you adjust that last part? Believe my friend I tried, she will refuse to. ;) I honestly believe I can somewhat convince her to voice role even one line with Suitcase in the BG crowd. Just one line will do, the fans will love it, this is a great way to pay tribute to creators since nobody has ever done something like this for them - yet. XD

Anyways I tried and hope that she'll accept later down the track. Maybe McCain can convince her...

Ooh! And to everyone else. I've been receiving LOADS of auditions and just minutes ago I got audition lines of Daisy & Jasmine from someone named Mippa. I was BLOWN AWAY from her auditions but I can't disregard the task yet since someone's already doing those lines for me (I'm waiting for her to send those files to me this week). *sigh* If only I've been more patient and waited a little longer. ;___;

Ah well, we'll see how it goes. ^^
  • #85

Damn! Getting your car vandalized in the middle of the night, that's gotta suck big time.
I swear if I ever found out who did it to my car, I'd beat the $h1t out of him.
But than again, I don't own a car, since I don't go anywherefar often to begin with.

OH and do I have to do that ^--- voice of McCain as well? XD

Ok I don't know how i missed this. To put it simply. I used no filters and no helium. That's something I can do naturally. Though its mostly used just to say squishy as that's where I started using it in high school. XD

So far I've completed the first 4 pages of scenes. Man it's quite a massive task since I got another 14 more to go. X_X; XD It's been fun and I'm looking forward to the recording session when I get all the voices I need for the chapter.

Hey, DarkSpeeds, what kind of toyota do you drive?
The interior kind of looks like a Corolla, and a recent one, judging from the "magnetic grey" exterior colour.

What i mean is, I drive a 2010 matrix, in that colour and i love it, but before that, i had a 2010 corolla in that colour, and i'm kind of hoping we're car budies :P
good luck with your car!

Lol! I'm not really into cars, since I only treat them as a tool to drive from A to B. ;) But yeah I got a Toyota Corolla 2010 Hatchback model - Metallic Ash. I'm taking it to Auto Masters tomorrow to see what kind of quote I can get to get it all fixed up.

Darn it! I won't give up till I get you to do some lines! For the fans man! For the fans! XXXXXXD

Also...

Bridgeotto's lines for Sue have been submitted and confirmed! Her recordings made my day, it was the funniest thing I've heard regarding auditions because it's just loaded with unanticipated moments and bloopers. It seems like you had some fun doing this! I really thoroughly enjoyed listening to her recordings of Sue - it went for 10 minutes! XXD I honestly feel that her voice fits in-character, it's what I've envisioned in my mind and I'm sure there will be fans out there who might think otherwise but who cares, each to their own you know? ;)

So Briget, James and Jaka thank you so kindly for submitting in your lines for Sue, Abbey & McCain! You guys did an excellent job. I'm looking forward to implementing those lines into the animation - I'll make sure that your recordings was worth all the effort! :)

Right now I'm 20% complete with the project. It's a lot of work but I'm sure I can bring it up a notch by tomorrow morning! :D *Elson continues to work on the editing of scenes*

Oh and one last thing! I should consider the project to be 25% complete officially because I now know exactly what tracks to put into the animated adaptation! I can't wait to show it off, I won't tell you from what series but it's from hand-picked RPGs that I know and love. ;)

I've just posted a 'behind-the-scenes' video for the production of this project so far! You guys and gals have been fantastic with your contributions in terms of voice auditions and recordings!
