What Arcana Are You?

I first did Wikipedia, but figured, it's Wikipedia, so I went to the library. I ask the librarian lots of questions, since she was a huge Tarot fan. She taught me and I even got some notes, like the Basic Symbols and Basic Story. She gave me those notes, nya. She also gave me a book, it was called "The Only Tarot Book You'll Ever Need". Looking it up right now, someone named Skye Alexander made that books. She taught me everything she knew. A little later, she was transfered to another library, one that I couldn't go to. So, I finished up the rest of the book. (Read it, it's good.) I read something else that was called something like "Learning Tarot: Book for Beginners" or something like that. I just looked up the book and it's called "Learning the Tarot: A Tarot Book for Beginners" by Joan Bunning. I looked at the book and found nothing new. I looked up more and more, but I hardly got any new info. So, I went on the internet and used a site that the librarian used to teach me with. I don't remember it's name though. I also used some other sites, but I don't remember them either. They had hardly any new info but some of it was pure gold and helpful. Any more questions?

You can use them to go into the depths of your inner psyche. I don't like when people use them in fortunes like "Will he date me?" or something but it should be used rather in showing what lies ahead, whether it is transformation or a symbolic way of rebirth. The cards help those on journeys to seek truths.
And by the way, the cards are usually depicted by the creators views on each thing. Like to one, the Fool looks like a harlequin. To another, it could be a young person.

You are full of bullshit.
You know one of the things you are missing? A proper history of the Tarot. You know what else you are missing? A sense of modesty.
If you REALLY read those books, you'd know about the other forms that the arcana takes. Not only that, you'd know about the minor arcana and how they play into reading Tarot. Part of what you are telling people in this thread is determined by a proper reading using a full deck.
Furthermore, ANYONE can do basic story telling. And do you know what story telling is used for in Tarot? It is used in READINGS. ACTUAL READINGS. Basic story is basic. Anyone can do it. It is a formula that is passed on and on and on. And you know what. You even manage to fuck that up. As I said earlier, stories are used for readings! But you're not even doing a reading! You're trying to determine someone's arcana! That's just one card! This leads me to think that you are just someone who dabbles in Tarot without even knowing anything about it! Do you know why it's called a "reading"? Because it's a *gasp* STORY! A story resulting from using MANY CARDS. With each card having not just one meaning, BUT MANY. Your interpretation of The Devil earlier was completely wrong earlier also, not to mention how you came to that result. Do you know who is born under The Devil? I am. Am I a self-involved, living on primal instinct dickwad? Nope! I bet you think that The Lovers is a primarily sexual/romantic card. Such folly.
Finally, do you know what you have been claiming to do this entire thread? You have claimed that you used SCIENCE to prove your method. Not to mention incorrect science and an incorrect method. Science in itself is proof driven. The Tarot, and other forms of fortune telling (not to mention superstition and religion) are FAITH driven. You're trying to PROVE FAITH. There are SEVERAL things wrong there. Faith is belief in the absence of proof. I swear, it's as if you WANT to disprove the Tarot.
I'm sorry. But you have given me no reason to believe anything that you say.

Ugh! Will this bitch H-O-D for once.
First, a card can represent personality. Do I have to spell that out. A Devil is violent and impulsive, a Hermit is wise, the World is completion, those can represent different things. Those are obvi not the whole meaning, but that's not the point. I'm using the scientific method to see how this can show psyche. The basic meanings are universally set, like what they mean. The more complex meanings are what is in the picture. For example, if one sees a tree, it could resemble knowledge, but to another it could represent birth to another. What about a snake? It could represent knowledge or lust, but to someone who has a fear of snakes could mean something worse. The meaning for the arcanas can represent someone's personality, like how the High Priestess is. You can be an arcana, and I wanted to find a test to prove what arcana someone is.
And yes, I know that it makes a story, but it is supposed to represent your journey ahead in life. Each reading is done with the same cards, but the result is away supposed to be different. Life itself follows the same principles. Each arcana represents a different thing. Here's an example:
"The Tower in the upright position represents the immediate future. It appears a terrible catastrophe is imminent. The card indicating the future beyond that is... The Moon, in the upright position. This card represents "hesitation" and "mystery"... I think it's very interesting. It seems that you will encounter a misfortune at your destination, and a great mystery will be imposed on you..."
That means the coming time, perhaps the coming year or something, is a turning point in your destiny. If the mystery goes unsolved, your future may be forever lost.
Lastly, you are an idiot. In modern times like today, the Lovers is portrayed more of a symbol of love and romantic relationships, although it can also be a symbol of finding agreement with an ordinary friend or even two conflicting elements within. In tarot readings, the Lovers arcana initially represented two paths life could lead to, and thus a symbol of standing at a crossroad and needing to make a decision. It could delve into moralities, as in do what's right or do what feels right. You could be torn between going with your dad when your parents divorce, or going with your mom, if your parents had a divorce. (This is referring to a kid, if you didn't figure that out.) And, admitting yourself as the Devil arcana proves the point, you are a dick, you're too self indulged to realize that, though. I'm willing to admit, I'm arguing to prove my point, and you are too. Your way, however, is a way that just wants to be right. My way is to prove that it is not right and you don't know everything, so don't act like you do. And, if you don't act like the Devil in that description order, perhaps you are not that arcana. Have you even thought about trying the damn thing? I tried yours, so why not try mine's?

It is, but I think you aren't understanding this. It should show what lies ahead in the future, but not by one request of someone who wants to know if they are getting a date or not. That could be in the Tarot reading, but I don't think that you should do a Tarot reading just inly for that. You should see for long term, what you'll learn over the months, the challenges you will be presented, stuff like that. They are both fortune telling, but one is a pointless thing and the other is for personal growth.

I didn't want to do a whole story, I just wanted to show a little example. I know they represent and don't form a story with just ONE card, but one card represents, and it could represent a person's psyche or a person's way of lie or something.

The fact you didn't argue with me after I called you ignorant must mean you're ignorant, because it doesn't take genius to diffuse such terrible logic.
So if:
You = Ignorant
Hitler = Ignorant (You didn't argue with this either)
Then by association

Maybe that's what they did at YOUR library, but they encouraged kids to seek knowledge at young ages. I was reading manga ever since I was five, my brother recommended it to me and I ask the librarian to give me more. She was impressed and she handed me some pretty good books. Sometimes I even talked with the librarians about their political views. They wanted to give youth knowledge, like libraries and librarians should. I always wanted to expand my knowledge because I questioned things. I didn't say it's like that because it's like that. Some people want to know how to do a job. That's a good worker. I wanted to know why do the job and how to do it. That makes a person a great boss.

Read the whole thing. I did research, I did tests, I used the scientific method. Don't look down on someone because they are young. Sometimes the most profound wisdom comes from people of young ages. I was six and with a few simple questions I tore down the whole belief system of Christianity and lost the faith.

But we are in different places. Of course, I asked about sex at the library and they didn't give me any info about it, but they gave me info about Tarot cards and other stuff. In fact, I asked for the Grapes of Wrath when I was in the fourth grade and they gave me a copy. (I didn't get to read it though since my brother temporarily lost it. It's a on a huge waiting list now. I would read it, but don't feel like it now.) They pushed knowledge on us. Some places have different boundaries.

Have you taken it? Have you done it? Did you do the scientific method? I would offer the quiz to you, but you would probably be biased and hide facts and say I was wrong so you can impel your way. You have to tackle the quiz with pure honesty, and have the courage to look at your true self without lying. You may not like it, but you have to accept it. You can't change certain things, but you there are things you can change. To change them, you have to understand them. If you can understand them but can't change them, that's how it is. Try to develop something to counteract it. Dig deep in the well of conviction, and try to change. That is the key.

First, you missed the astrological sign.
Second, you could do it yourself, ya know. (Thanks to Mr. CyberWarlock (who apparently doesn't like to give credit where it should be.) Oh well, I guess I forgive Byron... I did owe him for that one time...)

Third, how do I view myself? I see myself as a somewhat honest person. I have no reason to lie here. As for happiness, I'm okay. I'm not bad, I'm not good. I'm just okay.
When I took your friend's test, the result was wrong. I even went and calculated other arcana important to fortune telling. The result given did not come up.

I'm okay. Didn't I say that? What I have now I'm fine with.
No one can have true joy.
And you'll know what? I'll tell you right now that you've done nothing but beat around the bush over and over again. Give me the exact data. Give me your findings. Tell me why you believe something that clearly goes against everything that I have found and read about Tarot in all these years I have been reading about it in all these different sources.
Tell me why anyone should believe in a system that you made up when you were child and still learning about the Tarot.

and in a ridiculous amount of time to.
You both, Klaxbe and DMLD should know, of all people (since you both seem so interested in Tarot cards and readings) that Tarot it's hardly a even slightly close to something you can call a "science"
It's not an exact business, it has multiple interpretations and depending on who you ask is the answer you'll get.
So why you both seem so hell-bent on proving that the other one is wrong?
I don't get Tarot you know, I like western astrology, zodiac and all that stuff. I'm Libra by the way, born on october 10th, 1986. That also makes me a "Fire Tiger" according to the Chinese zodiac. So what?
I mean sure, there are some characteristics both in the description of what a "libra person" is supposed to be and behave, and in the "tiger personality" that applies to me in general terms, but It's not that if some day my daily horoscope says "bad day to leave the house" I'm not going to miss classes for example. Or the fact that because "tiger people are good leaders" I'm supposed to take the lead of each and every group I'm included into.
I think that you two guys are over-reading into this and are trying to point out that there is only one tarot, and only one way to get your birth arcana and stuff as if tarot was something like mathematics.
I'll repeat it: this thread had the potential to become something really interesting, but to me it seems that you two guys, with your holier-than-holy attitude about the way you learned to read tarot made it into some kind of fundamentalist fight were only a bunch of people instead of you two are posting and showing their opinions and thoughts about the subject.

Second, I want to see what you say. Not just the test which your alleged friend made.
I have no reason to believe you or anything you have said.

Yes I have hope. I have hope for the future.
Of course I have expectations. So far I am not meeting them, but I have met a good amount of my expectations.
I try my best to keep my promises. I rarely have to break them.
Well, you have and represent hope, expectation, and bright promises by the way you answered above.
You have hope...
You have expectations. You admit you can't meet them all, but you meet as much as you can...
A bright promise is a kept one. Promises can't all be kept, but to represent them you have to rarely break them and understand them.
That is what the Moon arcana represents.
Now look at you this, your answers;

You'll soon see. Try putting the answers in again, the way you told me, and you'll see.
(Thanks Byron, you're still helping me out when you're not here. You are the Magician, Byron, and I hope this Fool can help you sometime in the near future.)

I know, and it saddened me that someone has ruined it by trolling. It had potential, but...
You're right Max. You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders. I wish it could be this thread could be successful, but the winds had not blown in that way.

I'm sorry, but I still do not believe that you know half as much about Tarot as you claim. You have completely ignored how birth arcana (and any arcana at all, for that matter) is calculated and completely misread how The Devil is completely represented when applied to birth arcana.
Good day, good sir.
EDIT:
Er, DMLD... You do realize that The Max's post was pretty much calling you out, right?

Quite the opposite, really: it started off pretty trite and then it became interesting when people tried to point out flaws in his argument.

It was calling us both out, and I agree with what he says.
But this year could be like a Wheel of Fortune, but you are the Moon arcana. You are one of the same... What's a good example...? Ah! Sandalphon*! Via hope and the other stuff, you guys are the same. Though, you may be going through a part of your journey that is the Wheel of Fortune, you are currently the Moon.
But thinking about what Max said. We both like it, and we shouldn't argue. To each his own. So... I guess I should say sorry. We don't have to be friends our anything, but I think I should apologize. You don't have to if you don't want to, but I'm in that mood. To each is own, and if something about Tarot pops up, we won't troll each other. Agreed?
Heheh, thinking about it, I must be the Fool. I changed from arguing to apologizing. Heheheheh... Fools like me are weird.
(*Sandalphon is prominently featured in Jewish mysticism, such as the Kabbalah where resides in the Sephirot of Malkuth alongside his "twin-brother" Metatron. Sandalphon is said to be responsible for determining the gender of a person in one's embryonic state, and in other accounts said to be a guardian angel who delivers prayers to God.)

And I just now realize that part of your knowledge of Tarot comes from video games. Mythos cannot be attributed to arcana the same way you just did. How do I know this?
Persona, bitch.
AND YOU ARE NOT BORN UNDER THE FOOL arcana YOU IDIOT. YOU CAN'T ADD NUMBERS TOGETHER AND GET ZERO.

I know, but it seems like a good example to use. My tarot knowledge comes from real life. (By the way, I discover Persona at 12 and tarot earlier.) I could use a real life person, if you want.
You may not be born that way, but you are now a Moon arcana guy. Perhaps you were actually born as a Moon arcana, but you are now part of the Moon arcana.
Funny thing is, when I typed in "Moon arcana Examples" on Google it showed my that persona. And it's myth and faith, sometimes like life, which is sometimes like the tarot... Remember what I said earlier? I said the tarot and life follow some of the same principles. It's true. Sometimes your life changes, sometimes your arcana changes because a newly found resolution...
Life and the tarot are rather interesting, huh? The are so wonderfully magnificent. So interesting, so sublime. They go together like... like tea and cookies. What do you think about it?

If you do not give me hard evidence that I should believe that I am "The Moon", then I'm sorry, I have nothing to say to you.
If you cannot give me hard evidence why a personality test that you made up when you were seven years old and a complete novice at Tarot, I have nothing to say to you.
If you cannot give me hard evidence that "your test" was "stolen" by this guy who is your "friend", then I have nothing to say to you.
You have officially become so stupid in my eyes that I do not see the purpose of trying to talk to you about anything ever.
