The Correct Way to Determine Your Birth Arcana Using Tarot Cards and No, You Cannot Be Born Under The Fool, You Fucking Retard

blah blah blah blah birth arcana blah.

Basically, your birth arcana determines your personality or how your life will play out or whatever. It depends on whose telling the fortune.

Anyways, here's how you determine your birth arcana:

First, you take your date of birth and then add the day, month, the first two numbers in the year, and the last two numbers in the year.

For me, that would be 1+3+19+91

This comes out to 114.

Since this is a three digit number, it needs to simplified. So, take the first two digits and add it to the last digit.

Therefore, 11+4. This comes out to 15, or The Devil.

The Major Arcana are as follows

0 - The Fool (you cannot be born under this year. how the hell do you add two positive numbers to get fucking zero)

1- The Magician

2- The High Priestess

3- The Empress

4- The Emperor

5- The Hierophant

6- The Lovers

7- The Chariot

8- Strength

9- The Hermit

10- Fortune, or The Wheel

11- Justice

12- The Hanged Man

13- Death

14- Temperance

15- The Devil

16- The Tower

17- The Star

18- The Moon

19- The Sun

20- Judgement

21- The Universe

If your birth arcana number is double digits, 10 or higher, it can be simplified even further. The simplified Arcana still plays a role in fortune telling, but your birth arcana is the main focus here. For example, The Devil simplifies to The Lovers. If you were to look at the designs for both cards, you'd notice similarities between them.

Birth Arcana Calculator, if anyone is too lazy to do the math themselves. The site also gives what each card can represent.

It's not "The Devil or The Lovers". Think of it more as "The Devil, but The Lovers helps out a little also because they can"

This is fun. When somebody who claimed to know what they were doing were calculating my arcana, they got a completely different result. ^_^

So . . . I'm Judgement/High Priestess. Apparently that means I have innate psychic talent, a tendency to believe in the supernatural, and a reluctance to believe evidence over my own convictions. That sounds just like me. Or perhaps I'm related to beginnings, or endings, or perhaps quick to change my mind, humble, and focused on the ordinary and everyday.

hmm The Tower or The Chariot...
what is that supposed to mean?

You can go to the link and figure it out yourself. And it's The Tower AND The Chariot, with The Tower being the main influence.

The star/Strength... I was fine with it till I read a bit more.

This is from the site linked by Kaxbe...

The Star is remote, cool and calm. Strength is hot, intense and close. For the unclothed Star, the world and her own nature are fine as they are, and can only suffer from interference. For Strength, fully clothed, the world and her own nature need restraints to work properly.

Am I the only one who feels that the two completely contradict each other? It seems that i'm basically Bipolar by that sites explanation.

Don't put too much thought into this. Remember this is all fortune telling.
  • #35

Your fortune says:

You are gullible because you believe in fortune telling.
  • #36

I think most people just do it for the sake of fun and don't put any faith in it, or at least that's why I did it. Like I would never pay some gypsy fortune teller to hear a fake fortune, but if it only takes a minute, I'm game for it.

Though those who do believe it are very gullible.

29+4+19+93=145 which is the sun
simplified to the wheel of fortune
again simplified to the magician

Oh shit, arcana brothers.

And the devil isn't like all evil. Devil represents slave to emotion, impulse, ego, power, drive, etc... It's all in good fun.

Depends on your tradition. Look at Satanism for an example of Satan as positive (though admittedly, most Satanists don't actually worship the Christian Satan or indeed, any deity at all, but something rather akin to the Jungian shadow in many ways).

Incidentally, via Kaxbe's method, I am indeed Death, which amuses me greatly as I rather like that card. I also picked that one for the other tarot thread.

Well, LaVeyan satanism for example considers satan a collection of ideals relevant to the religion (as far as I recall), whereas theistic satanism does worship an entity called Satan, sometimes even specifically the fallen angel of Judaism and Christianity

The Devil, on the other hand, is often considered some sort of a king of demons.
Of course, this being tarot, it's unlikely that these things even matter.
