A fat snaggle-toothed faggot and his limp-wristed cronies throw balloons at ships to discourage whaling. How entertaining.

If I thought they were actually accomplishing anything I'd be on there side but there not only the Japanese people can stop whaling in Japan the answer to the problem is education not a half assed attempt at force.

  • #7

Jerk is right. They're doing fuck all to stop anything. Look at them; 32 years and they have done nothing. Literally, they have achieved none of the goals that they set out with. All they've achieved so far is to make a mediocre TV program. Every time they fail at one of their goals, they just move the goalposts, to use a borrowed phrase. Whale Wars- End Japanese Whaling! Whale Wars 2- End Japanese Whaling in the Southern Ocean! I mean, really. Their campaign to end seal clubbing has ended, and their anti-shark-finning capaign hasn't been heard from for about five years. If that weren't bad enough, they aren't just useless, they're downright immoral in some of the things they say and do. Paul Watson claimed that none of his crew had been convicted of crimes, and yet the captain of one of his ships is currently imprisoned in Japan on five different charges. Watson also openly made fun of Greenpeace's "Bearing Witness" tactics, calling them cowardly on video in one of the episodes of Whale Wars, and then the SSCS tried to claim that the documentary "The Cove", covering the Taiji Dolphin Slaughter, was one of their greatest victories. They made 4million from Bob barker and various other contributors served nothing in their efforts against Japanese whalers. The list goes on and on. Face it, Raxki, they are a pathetic bunch of wannabe low-lifes who have made zero contribution to world conservation. You're better off supporting something meaningful.
  • #8

Giving them attention or money enables them to continue undermining the overall campaign against whaling and every other cause they've taken up.
  • #9

It's honestly funny to watch them fail so hard, reason A I plan to watch it tonight

No he won't. The entire series is built on the premise of utter failure.
  • #12

20 bucks says there won't be any whalers this coming winter...maybe 2 years from now but not that soon.
  • #13

Raxki, you can't escape the fact that they are the most hopeless conservation group ever created, unless you lie on the scale that Paul Watson does regularly.
  • #14

They've been whaling for centuries. I'm pretty sure balloons and name-calling aren't going to dissuade them. But maybe Paul Watson knows something we don't: do the Japanese have an irrational fear of balloons? Do they find English epithets just that hurtful?

Promoting it must stop.
You don't go to war win one battle and the war is over.

They're a group god!. The seal hunting is falling apart. Each year the kill quota is raise but the killing get decrease each year. The shark finning. If you were smart you investigate do some research and see they do there best they can. There mission are not always on the ships.

I the individual you're refering to is Pete Bethune He betray sea shepherd and was kick of the group. And he not in jail, he's in New Zealand free.

Were was Greenpeace in cove? Were was Greenpeace in whale wars? Were was Greenpeace in taiji?
They have a headquarters there but no greenpeace member is in the cove.
They abandoned the whales in 2007 and the SEAL!. No greenpeace ships have go back to antarctic ever since .

Quote

"The Cove", covering the Taiji Dolphin Slaughter, was one of their greatest victories.
Is you have a brain you would know. Being in Taiji the cove location is in japan, You just can't act and physically involved there by the nation who hate them.Unlike the sea .The cove was a victory because the cove is a private area and no one in Japan knew of the killing there.

Anyone can say anything through a computer.
And if you're the kind of person who don't reason and don't research you can critic all you want but your opinion won't mean anything to me.

They do fuck all is what they do. They haven't stopped seal clubbing, as they set out to do, they haven't stopped shark finning, as they set out to do, and they haven't stopped whaling, as they set out to do. The point I was trying to make here is that they have money, resources, and volunteers, and yet they fail time after time. They don't do the best they can; they spout propeganda and say that they are doing stuff when in actual fact they're just running their mouths on chat shows.

He's not free, his sentence has been suspended. And he didn't betray them; the Sea Shepherds had a full understanding and acceptance of what he was doing.

They were there performing their "Bear Witness" tactics, and some of the most moving images in The Cove were taken by Greenpeace activists. Greenpeace haven't abandoned their whaling campaign; in 2010, two Greenpeace activists went on trial after revealing an embezzlement scandal between whaling companies and the government, and the Japanese government have finally taken action against the companies involved. They achieved in two years what SSCS haven't achieved at all in thirty-two years.

You've misplaced your quote. The Cove wasn't one of their greatest victories because they weren't involved. And you know what? Japan have reasons for hating them. SSCS have been involved in several incidents where fishing vessels were sunk completely needlessly; indeed, the vessels were off-duty when the SSCS members attacked.

My information was taken from the following sites:

You can't accuse me of not researching.

that show is lame
  • #18

Honestly Japan doesn't give two shits. They'll whale as much as they want and nothing short the threat of war (involving motherfucking GUNS and BOMBS and DYING.) or a superpower (see: USA(see: How little a fuck it gives)) going balls out is going to make them do otherwise.

If they wanted to deter whalers, they would be raiding the SHIT out of their ships. People dying is the only real way to FORCE anyone to do something they don't want to do when you have no power other than what you can take.

Considering how well the Japanese run their power plants, maybe they should continue with whaling to stock up for oil lanterns.

Last year SS saved more whales than the whalers kill and this year...

Japan cancels whaling season due to group's obstruction, official says - CNN.com
Japanese Antarctic whaling suspended due to pressure from sea shepherds | The Green Alternative

Japan cancels whaling season due to Decalz - amos.white (vodpod) | Lockerz best one yet.CNN report.

From were you read Greenpeace is in the cove from were? link video please.
That do not concern me what concern me is to stop killing whales. They did something pointless who care if they reveal inapropiate stuff of whaling companies and the goverment? Simple, if there no whale killing this issue be not made.
Greenpeace did good in is early years but now nothing.

Like i say before You don't to war win one battle and the war is over.
They fail and get back up never giving no backing down is the key to this.
They get donation from people who care.
Bob Barker donate 5mill$ to them they bougth a ship for the anti whaling campaig on 2009/2010 and guest what? they have their most effective campaing.
And we live in a era were the media talk , sometimes the cameras are the most powerful weapon there is.
People don't get interest unless is on TV.

Look if you can't get it then i done, i'm done here.
I'm not gonna continue some endless conversation.
I just make people aware of the situation. If they don't wanna do something that fine by me and they keep that to their self.

Never, that's when.

Actually. Call me when they start using assault rifles and real grenades. That should be interesting.

Oh, that should be very interesting. Especially when Japan, correctly, accuses the US of harboring a terrorist organization.

Instead i give a friendly reply.

I'll fight for my believes. I'm not gonna get anybody or anything to get in between that. I'm a intelligent individual that can see what is wrong from good. I support Sea Shepherd becuase they are real heroes, I've see them in action and i can tell they doing something good that your have not.

You realize I wasn't saying they're actually terrorist now, right? That would imply that they instill terror in someone to meet their political demands: they neither instill fear nor achieve jack shit.

No, the only sad part about all of this is that their exaggerated-yet-ineffectual drama actually interests you.
