Once upon a time ye long ages ago, a friend of mine introduced me to the wonders of internet chatting. After that enthralling session, I thought up a pseudonym to use in future, should I ever again have the pleasure of chatting with others digitally. Later in that same year, my family connected to the internet, and in that moment wacko was born.

I will tell the short story. Ahem~

I was bored and wanted to play RuneScape (I got over it) but forgot my account name and password. So I created a new one and named him Dritch. I thought it was bland so I added Jaul to look more German, like JagPazer, you PazerJager (because I played the German tank destroyers in World of Tanks and liked the look of it). The J was supposed to be the "yah" sound (also like German) but I just ended up pronouncing it der-itch-jawl.

My username started out as a nickname my old supervisor gave me. It was a play on words with my family name, Twomey. A catch phrase on one of his favorite TV shows, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, was "Sock it to me!" Thus I became Socket Twomey.

Fortunately, it didn't stick IRL, but it gave me a halfway decent username.

As a little kid, I had a lot of imagination (I miss that :( ), made some kind of monster (I like monsters :) ), later I saw some words in a box from some toy, putted them together, made some changes, and tah-dah! new name!, and around a year or two ago I started using it in forums.

I still remember that little monster of mine... he was cool!

(ZorZhen, weirdest name ever)

Ok I can think of no better way to explain the reasoning behind my username then what I said on another forum...so....time to copy and paste! :smirk:

This is one of the most common screennames I use. I've used it on multiple forums as well as on Youtube. When I can't use FireFang1331 I use FireFang13 or SuperNova when I can. If I can't I'm usually at a lose.

FireFang1331 is a mash of different things in one. Fire is my favorite element, always has been. Fang is a nickname I tried to get popular for me and I'd often use it in my earlier role playing days. While the nickname never caught on I still like it. 13 is my lucky number, has been for many many MANY years...my 13th years it was when my life started to actually get better and go up instead of down or sideways. And 31 was my volleyball number. I tried to find the number 13 but it wasn't there so I took the best I could get, which was my lucky number backwards. It was the first sport I played in for many many years and I absolutely loved it! I usually hate sports but I still to this day regret not trying to get back into volleyball in highschool. I was in it during middleschool but because of not being able to overhand serve I didn't cut it first year of highschool. I stop trying after that as A) I didn't know if I'd even make the cut after being out of it for so long and B) I had a very busy schedule with all my classes and homework and life.

So yeah...^^' it's a bit complicated but that's the story behind me using FireFang1331 or FireFang13 (SuperNova is only used in one or two places...it's a new thing)

My name comes from a Jolteon named Luminr (I can't remember who had this though...) To which I then named my Charmander Luminir. It was my first starter pokemon and I love him muchly (so much that i realised i couldn't call him luminir and changed it to Charcoal <3) When naming myself, i decided to resurrect the name and add the -aria so people wouldn't mistake me for a guy!

There is a surprising amount of you who have names that are related to pokemon, for real.

I approve.

The origin of my user name goes back 6 years when I bought my first Xbox and signed up for Xbox LIVE. At the time I was a pretty big fan of a Canadian comedy called “Trailer Park Boys” and one of the character’s back-story, Randy, is that he used to be a male prostitute who went by the name “Smokey” who would whore himself out for cheese burgers before he became assistant trailer park supervisor. Later in the series, it was revealed that he was gay, so I thought it would be hilarious to masquerade as “Smokey, the gay male prostitute” over Xbox LIVE, so I typed Smokey in for my GamerTag. I’m not sure if LIVE accepted it because a long list of alternate names popped up, like HungrySmokey, SleepySmokey, AngrySmokey… they were all stupid, but ChewySmokey made me giggle, thinking of a smokie that is chewy (for some reason I thought it was funny…) as I had a thing for bbq smokies at the time and I pressed A by accident, taking the name for my account profile. At first I was pissed, but I decided to give the name a chance. Needless to say, it grew on me; it feels unique to me and something I really like to be identified with when online. I’m glad that I have it because “Smokey” just sounds so plain, hell, I like being called “Chewy” for short rather than “Smokey”. The only times I hated my GamerTag was when I started playing Star Wars games online like Republic Commando or Battlefront 2 since the Wookie growls and roars were fucking incessant, but I do find some people’s comments amusing, like “ChewySmokey? I don’t know whether to eat some granola or light a joint!” or jokes about marijuana smoking wookies don’t seem to get old.
So, I use it for everything; websites, forums, PSN, whatever tickles my fancy.

Literally thought of the first random word that came into my mind, and chose that!
  • #119

Ahah Actually Chewy when ever I see your name I immediately think of Smokey the Bear. Lol growing up in the Smokey Mountains for this.

Random words and Real names ftw! I'm actually pretty stoked that "Commie" sounds like my real name by complete accident.

Sandz has been my gaming nickname since my sophomore year of highschool. It used to be Braindead but thats too many characters for most games back then, so while I was brainstorming a new name I saw an advertisement for the Sands Resort and thought to myself "Hey if I swap the s with a z that would be really cool!"

890 is a totally unrelated (but cool!) string of numbers to distinguish myself from the other people I've seen refer themself to Sandz :/

On a final geeky note, whenever I used to RP, Sandz would be a badass warrior, a total wannabe Chuck Norris if you will

PS. I love the Thinker pose, and David's sole moment of thinking inspired me to make it an avatar.

My avatar came from Xbox live. I needed a gamertag, but all the ones I wanted were taken. I finally came up with the name Bulletcheese, but it was also taken. In anger I gave up on a name. Then, thats when I saw it. In the suggested tags there was the name "BeachSideCheese". I chose it (of course). The name has really grew on me, and the rest, as they say, is history.
  • #125

I wanted to change my username from the horrible one I made up and used since I was 11. Had a friend who use a Latin word for his username so I did the same. After a few random words I translated my favourite colour, green, and it came out with Viridis. I liked it so I used it.

Note that I made a spelling mistake when I typed my name to create my account on this forum. Ah well.
  • #126

Rohan from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy because they are bad-ass. And Spartan For the SPARTAN-2's from Halo and the real Spartans are my heroes because of their courage.

Some summer camp I went to when I was young had weekly show/skits that all the camp councilors would organize and perform. On skit in particular was something about a man named Dr Noyd who used his knowledge and wits to save some arbitrary place, like a comic book store. In the skit a fellow actor/councilor asked Dr Noyd what was the meaning of his name, which he replied. -["I alone am not entitled to this name, as it is simply a label to identify a man of my kind. I'm am a nerd, whom which you will refer to me as Mr. Nerd, but in a nerdy way! So we nerd should be proclaimed doctors! So Dr Noyd shall live on!"]- ... or some shit like that. I was 12, I don't exactly remember, but Dr Noyd stuck, and i've been using it ever since.

I love how HILARIOUS they are sometimes. I have an alternate gamertag by the name of "Unreal Fruitcake". Hahaha AWESOME.

My nickname, which is kinda old and it takes 'origin' from my personal favorite thing, which is setting things on fire, or ablaze to be more specific for the nickname. #^_^#

Few years back that seemed like a nice nickname but I didn't really bothered with the "a" in front so I went with "Blaze" which later on turned into "Knight Blazer" from some much earlier roleplaying games off the computer and internet world.

And after few months of that (in the old 2001.) I decided to change it to something simple, and that's how I choose the nickname:

" Blazer "

You see, way back in oh, I'd say 2007 or so, I was reading a lot Super Smash Bros. Fanfiction on fanfiction.net. I had an account on that site, but I had published a lot of crap. So, wanting to get rid of my author shame, and because I wanted to write a lot of Super Smash fanficiton, I choose a new penname: Smash Genesis! Of course, that's when I realized the only Nintendo games I knew anything about were Pokemon and Mario so that didn't really work out... Now, I just use Smash Genesis as my handle everywhere! If there's a Smash Genesis, I'm probably him!
  • #131

Lvl 50 Fighter, Lvl 58 Black Mage, Lvl 57 White Mage, Lvl 55 Thief..Party I beat the first Final Fantasy with, since then I usually beat most Rpgs with a "fighting" type class at Lvl 50. That's all. Plus it has a nice ring to it.
  • #132

Well since I can't talk about WTF because it's kinda obvious I made it up on the spot I'll talk about my Xbox live name.
So back when I was retarded and I was so uncreative its not funny, I made the name TimeForSP which originally meant time for south park. So then one day this fucking Arnold schwarzenegger california hippie kid called me TimeForShitPickle and I was like "That is the sexiest thing I've heard in my balls ever", And that is the retarded story.

Well I was reading the Odyssey one day and I noticed that Odysseus had three letters of my name at the beginning (Cody).

My name originates a mere few months ago, when I was registering for the EGS forums. Now, I'm primarily a lurker; I only register for forums if for whatever reason I hang around them for a while, at which point is is possible for me to see a debate and be compelled to join in. As such, I don't have any sort of default name I use. So I'm trying to think of something interesting, and right before I'm about to give up I remember how one of my friends occasionally calls me "the Borg lord" because I tend to be logical (especially when it's least expected) and I like to program. It seemed suitably unique, so I used it there, and when I came here I was too lazy to even consider whether I wanted to come up with another name.

And sometimes I wonder if anybody will ever spontaneously shorten my name to "Lord", even as a joke. Although it would be pretty cool if I earned that title . . .

Now, the name I use to post page comments is a completely separate story. A very short one in fact, and one I'm sure will be obvious if anyone figures out what that name is. All I'll give you right now is the hint that it's a reference to a series I like, and the assurance that I am bound to accidentally drop more hints.

I first used Comedy last year whe n Iwas signing up for Minecraft. I was thrilled when it wasn't taken. Since the, I've been trying to use it whenever I can. When it's taken, I've started using BitterComedy, in honor of you know what.

While I was taking Japanese, I was fooling around with an online dictionary, typing in random things to see if they had English meanings. Seki found it's way into the stream because it is a term in a game called go. I was typing things that I thought sounded neat, and when Kiseki came up "miracle" I was hooked.
  • #137

My first online name was LittleShit (I won't say why I got that one).
I had been thinking of changing it for a while.
I was on BCB and I decided to post something and I thought I would finally go by a different name.
I had just seen an episode of Futurama and it was the only thing on my mind.
Since I didn't want to directly copy off the show, I changed Bender to Bendy.

I probably could have said that in fewer words but I don't really care

My real name is Carlos, but EVERYONE call's me Carlitos: friends, girlfriend, classmates, family, etc. They even introduce me as Carlitos and I do the same. I like it that way, it's more friendly instead of "Carlos", I find it kind of too unfamiliar.

The problem is that Carlitos it's taken in a lot of websites, so I am looking for a unique nickname...

Still. I have retconned it on several occasions - Jacob once suggested I'm Lemon Breakfast, and that one is fun; my favourites are Incandescent Light Bulb, I'm a Loser - the Beatles, and one I will not mention because it might be misunderstood. ^_^ The most famous one, however, is 'ilikeboys', which I have never actually called myself. So, sorry about that.

Still. My user name has no real meaning (essentially, like I'm Lemon Breakfast), but put what you want into it. Truth lies hidden, even here. ^_^

My name originated many years ago, in a land far, far away...
for you. it actually happened a few feet from where I'm sitting right now, so not that far for me. I thought that my current name was too childish, and it had numbers, which i didn't like, so I tried to come up with something new. I basically wound up with Boring+Game, because I was really into video games but had a hard time staying interested in particular games for long periods of time. I always got bored of them. still, I thought that "boringame" wasn't cool enough , and was kind of annoying to say, so I took the -amus from Nostradamus, to give it a philosophical, apocolyptic sounding end. in the end, I had something that was fun to say, and has not once been used on the internet before. I've now been using it for at least three, maybe four years. The End. The one downside is that one of my friends insists on calling me "Boringanus".
Sorry for the long paragraph, I like telling detailed stories. XD

bbranam7

the first "B" is for Bobby, my first name
then "branam", which is my last name
then "7", which comes from my old email address, "7enderstrat@gmail.com" (don't bother, i don't check it anymore), in which the "7" actually referenced the Fender logo's "F", which looks like a number "7".

It's an extremely simple concept until the last character lol
