that would've made no sense

if you had any sense you would learn to draw before posting your horrible pieces of crap here

also I'm a hypocrite because I just saw a sketch of mine again and I hate it

Yeah, but at least you don't have a tantrum every time someone says something that isn't a compliment.

i'd say something but i know you'll just think i'm, how did you say it? oh yeah, throwing a tantrum.

anyway i was on deviant art and got
this thing and i immedietly thought of the scribble drawings i'd do. i figured a lot of people are amazed by them so maybe they'd be decent to you.

seriously it's fucking easy to make these i'm surprised people think highly of them

Optical illusion created entirely by accident.

Generally, though, the quality of a work is directly proportion to the amount of effort put into it.

ahhh i see now the appeal.

Step one: Open it in any image editing program and hold down ctrl + I for invert colors.
Step two: EPILEPTIC ATTACK
  • #106

I personally prefer optical illusions that are done on-purpose...

But then again there is a school of thought in literary theory that finds merit in symbolism and imagery that can be found in classic works regardless of whether or not the author intended the book to be interpreted that way. I'm trying to think of what that is called... its on the tip of my tongue...

The political science equivalent is the pragmatist view of interpreting the U.S. constitution, which argues that the Government's constitution must have modern meaning today that the founding fathers could not have planned for.

So the same idea could be applied to art, and a picture may be just as clever and awesome whether or not the artist had the capacity to intentionally make something clever and awesome. 8-D

THREAD NECROMANCY! nah i'm just kidding i don't play that game. AND I COME FULFILLING REQUESTS!

first one is of the one request that everyone wants. HERE IT IS Posted Image the character shown is obviously doddsoreric. one of my friends from RvB and is also the most detailed character in the comic.

secondly is a long overdue request. since i do not want to redo the whole project i've scrapped the pictures i used and made this small montage of geoff ramsey. Posted Image

i present to you the most time consuming comic i've ever done (made in 2 days and 2 nights)!

it is the first page of the comic i wanted to use for my contest with infinity (inked with Adobe Illustrator). the plot is just a back-story that's supposed to frame around the BZB fancomic i also do, starting with of course the plane crashing with a witch sandy. note: although the last statement is suggestive Will Chutney doesn't do anything sexual to Sandy, he's just bad at explaining things.

Congratulations, you got me to snigger with that last comic.

If you're still having trouble with what kind of heads to make, you may or may not want to use this for reference.

I hope to see your art improve. To be honest though, I don't like perfectly round heads just as much as I don't like pumpkin heads. May I suggest adding a chin?

I'm such a hypocrite, all my drawings have semi-round heads XD

I hope to see some improved work :)

Also, if you're still taking them, could I make a request? I'd like you to draw, using that reference sheet, a man with a realistic body size, and a nose.

Good luck.

That link is too advanced. Before using that you should at least develop some skill in shaping and rotation.

Also, most of the time the inking will suck if the sketch sucks. No degree of smooth lines will fix that.

hmm i distinctively remember someone else saying something like that, but it was regarding me saying i could really use a tablet. bottom line is, i wasn't trying to really FIX anything, i just wanted to experiment with adobe illustrator. i wanted to see how good it was, and the result is that it's really easy to ink with and brought out better results than i expected (i expected to get frustrated with pencil and through the software away).

ANYWAY onto some drawings!

this first one is a heroic poster i did for my friend Ryan Susman who is host of the image hosting site i always use, (liquimatter.com) he always gives me sponsorships on RvB in return for drawings of his character Darkmatter22 and advertising the site. i always liked the character, because he was supposed to be a sort of "hobo with a shotgun" vigilante. He asked me to do a facebook drawing for him so i drew the following picture. I did this drawing awhile ago actually but never posted it due to other reasons.
Posted Image

the next one is for Sparkfur's request. please ignore Griffon's insults it's a bit of an inside joke, because whenever i draw her and people look at her they keep thinking she's a boy. this time she really is. also i'll use some of the stuff on that reference sheet i find it pretty helpful even though i don't sketch. i'll practice this new head type and hopefully transfer it over to my regular stuff. although i found the facial features section of the reference sheet very helpful, and easy transfer over; it kinda lost me when it turned into an anatomy lesson.

But surely the whole point of the bloody reference sheet was to be an anatomy lesson; your proportions are so shit that perhaps you should study it harder, rather than just giving it up.
  • #126

You can draw humans seventy-four times as well as I can.

I give my props to you regardless of the general opinion.
  • #127

There's more to inking than just tracing the sketch, it too is an art form. You are just redoing the same drawing in vectors. If the drawing doesn't come to life in the inking stage then you are doing something wrong. No, it should already be alive in the sketch version.

There is a lot of potential in using lines.

okay here's another. it's a drawing a while ago for the secret santa thing, but then i had a better idea (plus i'm not sure if we could give non-BCB related art). the story of Seth Edgewood is as exactly as it says, ABANDONED i tried telling the story for a long time. it came to me when i was in elementary. i tried drawing out the story, writing it, but everytime something happened that would prevent me from continuing (the books would get lost, one time a guy stole my bag and put the book in a urinal, etc.) so i gave up thinking it was a sign that i should never try it. the story of him is very incredible, and just outrageous (keep in mind i thought this up in like the 3rd grade) so i don't think any of you'll like it. anyway here's a picture i drew detailing a few of his many adventures.

Posted Image
  • #131

I agree with Esa. There is improvement. Your characters are developing chins, for starters, and the faces themselves don't look as lazily done. I still suggest you take a look at the massive amount of advice you've gotten in the past year or so--you still have a long way to go, and all of it will be helpful.

Do you know what you should do

Get an anatomy reference and learn how human beings work anatomically

Don't try to tell me you'd rather draw in your style because fuck you, you can't draw a person if you don't know how they work. Not even stylized.
  • #134

There are a shit ton of anatomy references on the Internet, Amazil, a good number of them free.
  • #135

The characters I draw are simplistic and cartoon-ish, so going fancy with lineweight adds a charm to them. Inking is also a skill you develop. It depends on the style too. Sure some artists just make their lineart with singular strokes but but if you compare them with what you have the work of others look more confident and pretty. Just tracing the lines in a sketch and calling it inked is what some would call weakling linework. So practicing would help you get better.

Anatomy too, you should practice on that. To help, I'll link you to some things awesome artists made.

yeah, that's what i was thinking about for inking. i also wanted to try shading, but anatomy will come first. I'll try and look at these but at the moment i got some updating to do. i have a giant set back with the zombie bowl (just lost a bunch of dramatic shit), need to revise and finish carter bowl (don't ask you don't wanna know), right now i'm trying to edit this new comic so you can read the words (it's the most depressing comic i've ever done), and on top of that i have to fight myself from playing new vegas (MUST FIGHT THE URGE!). sooooo, yeah i'll be sure to try those out, but don't expect anything anytime soon; BUT FEAR NOT! I was working on stuff for the tumblr (again, i didn't check anatomy yet).

Title: http://liquimatter.c...445AMcasco1.jpg after i ink it, i'll add in the title in there
and background: http://liquimatter.c...447AMcasco3.jpg i was into inking it, but quit a while in i'll finish later...after y'know finishing that list of things to do.

hmm, finally got around to reading that anatomy chart. i've tested it out on some drawings. also i got some stuff done on the tumblr. as for the anatomy chart, i like how simple the author explained the body types, and face structures; i'll be sure to try out the faces (i would've tried it earlier, but i only realized after, that there was one on the face). i'll get to drawing soon, and may even get to inking some stuff, but for now enjoy the new stuff to the tumblr (feel free to ask anything, but be warned the tumblr isn't JUST cas, it's all 50 characters and i choose who answers).
here's a link to the tumblr http://caslab.tumblr.com/
unfortunately i did those before reading the anatomy page (mainly because i was at school, and when i tried to look at the anatomy page at the library it got blocked for nudity)
right now i'm gonna try and work on inking, and just cleaning this one up http://liquimatter.c...34AMtumblr1.jpg this was an answer to the question by the robot: "what's your favorite inanimate object?" I've known cas for her love of 2 things. Cats, and Portal, and the fact she's actually a scientist is the basis of her character.

alright fellas i's gots me a frickin' awesome ass knight drawing that i did in school today! i believe this to be the greatest drawing i've ever done to date. i would normally post this in the booru, but i feel i'd rather get the story out FIRST before showing the picture. Posted Image alright, now that you see it i will explain it (because you know i have a fucking story for this, and every other thing i draw).

this is an accurate metaphor for how i see the battle of AugustusXDaisyXAbbey. Daisy being a princess that kind of oversees things, but really doesn't know much and of course is the target for the knights. Abbey and Augustus would be knights in the fact they would be more than willing to put their life on the line for Daisy. as you can see from the picture, Abbey is a beautiful knight in shining armor, a white knight; while Augustus is a more collective and serious black knight. this is to show the personalities that i find in Abbey and Augustus. Abbey is of course a white knight in the fact that he's a good guy, and well respected by everyone; while Augustus is a dark knight, more of a rogue than anything, people view him as a shifty character and don't view him well. a better representation would be that Augutus and Abbey are Yin and Yang. Augustus being yin because well he's a bad guy. He isn't a good person, and he isn't nice but he does have sense. he is a collective person who views things outside the curtain of drama, and he shows a lot of respect. he is horrible, but noble, loyal, and would more than likely do what he knows is right. I believe that there's reasoning when it comes to Augustus. Abbey would of course be yang because of course he's a great person. he's nice, well rounded, smart, and everyone likes him, he even got the girl...sort of (as seen in the picture). the small badness of Abbey is his instability, his past makes him almost comparative to an emotional time bomb.

anyway yeah that's my whole rant, and explanation to today's picture. i love this picture. i'll try and ink it, but i love the pencil strokes so i'll just do a simple outline first, and maybe clean up the lines.

oh yeah, and i'll stream it in a second so yeah...boop Amazil's NV mods - live streaming video powered by Livestream

...nothing ._. forever alone. anyway i made a comic inspired by a question i thought up for ask roseville. it went amoung the lines of "dear augustus, do you ever think about just taking Daisy away. i mean away from all this drama and crap." anyway it spawned this comic that i made, i poured myself into it for all my classes.

Posted Image

umm also, i find that in the text wall, a better word for the ending would be "it's more than i could hope for." i only fear that people read this faster than they should. for instance, him holding onto Daisy for dear life because he can tell he's slipping into consciousness, is supposed to be a pulling scene that some of us experience in dreams where we are in a sweet moment, but it's slipping away and we can't get it back. this is double for Augustus, because it's a taste, a reminder of what he can't get. in the end when he goes back to sleep is just supposed to show that he wants it again, and he tries to go back; which i think some of us do too.

hey folks happy belated valentines day. i present to you the most time consuming drawing ever. i finally decided to try ball joints, and guidelines a try, and came up with this Posted Image and after a brilliantly simple way of drawing it without eracing the guidelines, it turned into this Posted Image

i'm very proud of it. the characters are Seth Edgewood (an old fan character i made in the 3rd grade after finding W.I.T.C.H, he's with...well actually i never named her she's just...a girl that i made to be...my dream girl. anyway the whole story with them is that Seth was condemned to fight 100 wars to determine where he is put in the afterlife. the thing is that every war is like a full story. i had this idea where Seth was this background character that helped out one way or another in an invention or event (it was supposed to be historical science fiction where sometimes it'd be in different dimensions expanding the events) and it always ended with Seth dying one way or another in order to go back to pergatory, and get reincarnated to start the process all over again. keep in mind this whole thing was a story 7 years in the making (the idea started when i was in the 3rd grade). as for the girl, she is actually a constant in every time he is reincarnated (she's there every time as a love interest, a friend, relative, and once as an enemy). anyway yeah that's how the story goes.

as for how this happened, it started out with just an idea of these two people kissing. i decided to make it Seth, and...girl. after that was done i said, "hmm needs more." so i threw in a tree (i was debating between a ballroom). after that i was like "needs more." so i threw in the sun, and experimented with making grass. then i said, "wow this looks great...but needs more.". right then, i didn't know what to add so i threw in a house and a non-purpose noose. and finally i was like "DAMMIT IT NEEDS MOAR!!!!!" but i couldn't figure out what to put in it. i even started asking my artist friends as to what needs to be added i was like, "it's great, it's probably the best thing i've ever done, but i feel like it's missing something!" finally it's the end of the day, and i ask my friend who is waiting for her ride with me, "look at this, it's missing something i can't place my finger on it.". her brother is a skyrim addict and starts shouting out things to put. "Dragon, a dovah, have that guy shout FUS RO DAH!" i'm just like laughing at this, until finally she says one word. "clouds?", and in that moment i make this weird noise similar to a cat for like 30 seconds. i was just so happy that i got the answer, but angry that it was so simple...anyway yeah, that's how i made this picture.

HAPPY BELATED VALENTINES DAY!
